Hey,
I am interested on changing the running time on my G3 to ART from Dalvik.
My Questions is:
Anyone did it and the device got better (battery, faster) ?
If I want to change back to Dalvik, there is no problem with this, right ?

I'm using ART and I can say that is really better. Apps open faster and my battery performance is better. Try it, you can go back to Dalvik with no problems.
how to do that ?

Thank you.
After how much of time did you see the change?
There is any problems at ART mode?

I don't believe Xposed works, so if you use that you'll have issues,
I'm running art as well and I find it slightly quicker, smoother and better battery. Changing back is as easy as going to art.

hello everybody, thanks for coming out tonight!
the problem:
no matter how much i leave my wildfire charging, it DOES NOT REACH 100% and the percentage that it reads at most is 70%
this problem occurred after i used Battery Callibration app to calibrate my battery (i tried to calibrate cause i thought that it reads wrong percentage)
is there ANYONE helping me out please?
p.s. i have root access and i have tried hard reseting (bootloader clear storage) and format \cache \boot \system \data in recovery and all......... nothing helped! i also tried several roms including cm7.2 and RUUs. non of them helped.
That is a hardware issue, most of us including me face this issue.I'm sorry, there's no real solution for it.

thanks for the answer dude
how come this is a hardware issue? we went through a software-related procedure and now it is about hardware!? i mean we didn't change the input voltage... did we??? it's really odd to me.
did it happen for ur phone after using Battery Calibration app?
what if i change the battery, does it make it right like before?
another thing to consider is what Battery Monitor Widget Pro shows. it says that my battery at most is filled with 900 mAh out of its 1300 mAh nominal capacity!!
what exactly does this app do??

I dont think that battery calibration app caused this..There mst be some flaw with our motherboard or may be it caused due to voltage fluctuations.I saw people changing batteries which didnt help.I dont know but no matter what you do,the problem is just there.

In that case I would make a backup and flash a complete stock rom (including stock kernel and a full wipe). It is the kernel that does the power management.
P.s.
Happy new year!

oh... god bless you kwbr
thanks for answering
and yesss i removed that goddamn batterystats.bin several times!
and i used several kernels:
-stock
-nfinity
-HCDR
i have also used several stock and custom roms
and in clockworkmod recovery i also tried removing battery stats, wiped data/factory reset, wiped cache partition, formated boot & system & data & cache. none of them helped!
p.s. i wish you all the best in the new year, happy new year bro

well i don't know mate! maybe it wasn't that app. but for me using that app was the only time that i toyed with the battery!
[no need to mention that: i strongly believe that all the works of our developers are good steps they take and it's the cool point of the open source thing.
sure i accepted the fact that i am the only one responsible before implementing any of this tweaks and now i am just asking for help.
and again i'm sure that they accept all the shortcomings of their work and they may try harder to get it right ]

This isnt a rom issue at all,it just happens with every custom or stock rom. This is the reason I blame the hardware.

i was talking about the community of developers, guys like you, who try to make better use of devices and i totally appreciate it.
but there are always some bugs and flaws which is normal and i guess this percentage reading is one of those bugs. now what should i do?

it's definitely not the rom :good:
but i'm not convinced that it may pertain to the hardware.

if it had something to do with the rom or even the kernel, flashing a ruu should have fixed it.
As others say, I also expect it to be hardware related, perhaps the app somehow changed certain voltage parameters and overburned/underburned/eated your battery cappacity. But I just stumbled upon this, and thought you might as well give it a try.
Good luck!

why 2 threads?
Anyway, it happens the same with me. I wouldn't be so worried about it. If your battery isn't flat and your battery drain seems normal for the usage you give everything is fine. Must be some thing related to the kernel

As far as i remember, this thing doesn't only happens on cm11 but also with the previous cm10 or cm10.1. Someone asked about it and was answered (i can't remember who exactly, either @Madridii, @HURSTky @honeyx etc.) that it was normal. I think it's something about battery optimization or whattf

Prubably it was me Yes this is normal as on reboot many things are getting reset (whiped) so the ROM is loosing the exact information about the procentage and calculates it by looking at the battery voltage. This calculation is some kind of guessing and can´t be accurate. You will get more accurate readings after a while or by fully charging the battery.

I've enabled it on my Acer A500 running Thor's epic wip KitKat 4.4 briefly and didn't notice any difference Because of the warning message about possible data loss, I switched back to Dalvik. Where is that option on the Tab Pro? I don't see it in developer options.

I'm running ART. Seems same to me. I'm waiting on the new version called Fast ART which is supposed to really have some gas despite its unfortunate acronym.
Guys...Found another way today to reduce the lag on G3...Now it feels like my phone is stable...Just try it...its working for me...
1. Go to "Developer Options" .....change the default Runtime "Dalvik" to "ART"
The phone should reboot and will take several minutes to optimize apps while its booting. If you find some apps that are not responding when they are opened, just uninstall and re-install them.
Google to know more about Dalvik & ART runtime.
2. Go to "Developer Options" .......Disable(OFF)all animations: Transition animation, Animation duration & Window animation.

This has been know to be done on the majority of devices that have kit Kat that can support ART. I don't understand what the deal with everyone trying to increase the speed of their G3. When I got mine it ran fine granted I rooted it but still it ran fine. Games didn't lag on High Quality and launcher didn't redraw or loss of frames. The benchmarks are merely synthetic and do not reflect the devices performance at all.
I recommend ART cause its faster when you start an app and it takes you one step closer to android L. Also the whole getting rid of animations is the closest thing to a placebo but granted it does feel snappier.
The LG G3 is a pretty tight phone and if you don't think its stable or fast then you must live a fast life style.

uninstall xposed, I am on the leaked 10j firmware(with some of my own tweaks) and art is blazing fast batterylife is +-6.5-7h of sot and 20-22 on battery time
So I'm a happy camper
Isn't there a beta xposed framework that works with ART somewhere?

I thought samsung was bad but lg is worse when it comes to lag. I don't think I will be buying anymore lg phones anytime soon.

Should be an easy fix on the software side because the hardware is the same as competition ..just hope for the best ..
Tested ART. Phone is butter smooth. But back to dalvik since i cant breath without xposed framework on lg g3. Since we dont have custom roms.
There is no butter smooth feeling. I have test all tweaks and roms and i can say no butter feeling on the g3.
Upset
Really upset with LG. with lock bootloaders we cant enjoy custom ROMs. Wasted money on LG.
i unstilled exposed and lg 3 tweak box and when phone restarts, its still under dalvik....

It's depend on the devices, some have ART hidden but I don't think our device has ART included.
EDIT: I'm not a fan of ART, since Google has a good reason not implement it yet because it's very unstable. I have tried ART on some of my phones, in theory it should boost performance and I see no performance gain whats so ever and it has a lot of issue. Many apps may not be compatible with ART run time. Highly recommend not to use ART.

What device do you have and you said you checked and your device do have the 2 ART lib.so files - (libart.so, libart-compiler.so located in /system/lib)? We are talking about note 10.1 2014 here. People if you don't see the 2 ART lib files, meaning your device is NOT ART compatible, meaning no hidden ART for your device.
I tried Art on my older tablet from Huawei, with Aokp 4.4.2.
It was catastrophic. The Art cache is about three times bigger than Dalvik, which should not be a major issue on a device with 16GB. Compiling the binaries takes ten times longer. A speed increase during use was not noticeable. Many apps will hang up and slow down the system and draw extra power in the background. More fcs, too, but that is expectable.
The, afaik, newer f2fs file system is in contrary performing flawlessly on my mobile with CM11 4.4.4.
