Downgrading from j to h - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm getting battery issues and over heating, what's the best method to go back to h ? Flashtool and cse to competely wipe?
Any nice way to backup/restore when downgrading?

Titanium backup.

Titanium Backup, LG PC Suite...
And maybe going from 10j to 10h will be upgrade not downgrade.

The J build you are on is likely to be the internal test build rather than the full release. The full release of H has a newer build date than these test release builds.

Im running the leaked 10j too, and maybe I should "downgrade" too. Where can I download the latest official build?
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Didn't know 10j is a leak, does that mean we can probably expect a new firmware update soon?
I upgraded to 10H yesterday eur-xx10h or whatever it's called, while it is not quite there yet, i definitely feel like this is a performance improvement compared to 10g. Things feel more even if not perfect just yet.
Really looking forward to a new update. This phone has a lot of potential.

I've never had a phone run this hot (on leaked 10j), I'm pretty nervous about keeping it. So I'm going to backup shortly and use lg suite to go to official v10h eur tonight.
Ps it got so hot I've had it turned off since, and it took 5 mins to cool down with the cover off.

Where can I download the 10h? I cant find a download link
Sent from my LG-D855 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

There is an lg link posted where you add your imei at the end and it will give you an official download for the latest version

Here you go, put your own imei I instead of xx
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=xx

just in case anyone else wanted tro do this, I downloaded the V10H kdz and used flashtool and a "normal" flash to do the upgrade/downgrade, very painless and took 5 minutes.
I'll keep an eye on the battery/temperature, but the 10j leaked version for me was getting dangerously hot, and killing the battery life as a consequence.

Strange is that i get 10h update 2 weeks ago but that lg site with my imei code give me 10g downlaod link

Bump.
What I've noticed is this;
I guess I have a d80210a, because that's what it says in bootloader text/info at the bottom...
If I Flash a version of a Rom that might be based on a "b" or "c" version, when I try to use LG R&D Flashtool to revert to genuine stock the prices will fail at approximately 49%. Then I can reboot and the already installed Rom will have survived the failed Flash attempt.
One thing this might tell me is that the specifics of the hardware and the current running software (Rom) is checked some time during LG R&D Flashtool process.
So, the versions at hand, a b and c might be connected to hw somehow and this won't matter (it haven't mattered for at least) until you try to revert pure stock.
Just my two cents of thoughts...

Installed J version!! 4:45 use, just whatsapp and facebook,1:40 screen = 60% .... This same use on S5 I would still have at least 80% .... Like this I will never reach 5hs of screen as I see people saying on forums...
Beside I didn't installed any other app yet... Probably if I install other apps that sync with internet, this battery usage will be much higher...
No doubt S5 have a much better battery life....
And why does Android OS keep always on? Without using my phone, neither Wi-Fi or gps, it keeps on like not going to deep sleep

Hello can you give the source link of that confirmed info? Because here on Q&A section nobody have report to full flashed the KDZ of 855... I just made a system dump from v10j and then flashed it through recovery. Also boot is the same but we thought flashing KDZ could have some issue with modem or partitions size.
Now I read this and think is very cool to know some people already tried to flash kdz for 855 with success but it would be great to add the source link to the tread on Q&A section with the correct step to step... because another user tried to flash an European kdz but it didn't let him because of different model.
To restore default ROM:
1-) Download and install LGMobile Support Tool.
2-) Start it and wait it for self-update.
3-) Connect the phone using USB Cable, wait until LGMobile Support Tool recognizes the phone.
4-) Click on top menu Additional Resources (Recursos Adicionais) ==> Upgrade Recovery.
5-) Wait for it check your phone model, download the correct ROM and install it. (DATA WILL BE WIPED).

That user badtzo is saying is me, really wasn't able when I tried.
Would really be glad that this was clarified.
I have a brazilian D855p and I'm flashing D855 kdz from day one.
I dont think the software needs time to settle. That's because one time I saw Francisco Franco (nexus recognized developer) telling that's bs, as the software is only a bunch of zeros and ones and no need for that. But anyway, my battery is great so far, getting 4h SOT when on 4g and almost 6h on wifi. Try to install a custom rom like cloudy or AndroidNow HD and give it a try...

[Update] Android L (Lollipop) and the G2

Figured I'd start a thread about Lollipop since it was officially announced today. As others (namely @KD8JBF ) have pointed out, Sprint has updated their device RDF page to mention a ZVE firmware. Will this be the update to Lollipop? Any ideas?
How do you think the G2 will handle Lollipop, and what do you think about what we've seen of Lollipop so far? Hopefully ZVE will at least fix some of the bugs in LG's firmware.

I'm up for anything that uses more WiFi. I have a damn Airave because Sprint doesn't have signal where I live, which creates a whole other cluster of problems. Wonder how long it will take for us to get it?

I believe this is the update to use the home launcher from the G3. LG stated a few months ago that they were going to update the G2/Pro/Flex to the G3 launcher and they were attempting to have them all updated by Christmas.

This thread isn't about a ROM, it's about a software update from Sprint. If you're confusing the two, I'll answer as if you meant update when you said "ROM". If you were to update to ZVE (or update at all) and you're on CloudyG3 right now, you would have to downgrade back to a stock version of the LG LS980 firmware. You can do this using LG's FlashTool and a tutorial I put up on here awhile back. I also put up tutorial videos with links and downloads on YouTube if you search for my name " Kristi Grant". When I get on my laptop I'll post links, or click on the link in my signature.

That is where 5.1.1 comes about. 5.1 fixed, 5.0 leaks. But then they had leaks in 5.1 which hopefully 5.1.1 fixes
I wonder if the update will bring wifi calling to the G2 finally.

Update from V10a - should I?

Hi all
I'm new to G3 phones, and I just discovered that the firmware of my LG G3 is V10a, which is, I think, the first one. Right now, they say version V20f is out...
I have been invited to do OTA updates, but... my G3 has absolutely no problem, everything works 100%, I have no special issue with this magnificent machine. :good:
So, i dunno, should I update? I mean, what's the point to update a machine which is perfect right now (for me). I'm happy with V10a firmware, so is it worth it to update?

It depends where is your phone from.
Go to this URL csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=[IMEI] and put your imei at the end.
It connects directly with LG's servers and tells you what is the latest version availaible for your phone.

Probably in the general section of this forum. There is a topic about the Lollipop update. I haven't read it but maybe they talk about what they think of the update.
But you should definitely update from V10a, later OTAs have a lot of improvements in them. You got an early version here.

it will be 5.0.1.. it is still technically 5.0 like the site says.
All US carriers started off with 5.0.1.. vs Intl getting 5.0.
Intl will probably get 5.1 first tho.
Just updated my lg g3 to android 5.0.1 yesterday by using the upgrade recovery option in the Lg mobile support tool. I used this same method to get the other minor update that t mobile had a while back as well. Everything is running smoothly and i've had no problems so far.
