need 4.1 unbrick img - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

hello people, i flashed t999 bootloader on an i747 and overwrote it, i've tried many debrick img's but i need one for 4.1.1 or 4.1.2
and i've been looking everywhere
if someone is one 4.1~ can you please make bootloader dump for me
thanks!

If you're on 4.1.2 or older, any debrick.img should work. However, if I remember correctly, flashing another devices firmware is one type of brick that cannot be fixed with this method.

[Q] Is it possible to install a stock ROM if 4.3 and a locked bootloader is in place

Is it possible to install a stock ROM once 4.3 and a locked bootloader is in place. I've looked all over and I seem to read conflicting stories. So...
I have a Samsung S3 Telus (AT&T) version running the latest 4.3 as of May1st, my bootloader is locked and I have a tripped flash counter.
If someone actually posts a I747MVLUEND2 rooted image can I flash it?
Can I flash an older version I747MVLUEM series?
Oh yeah my phone is NOT rooted.
Check post #5, 11, 27 here Guide: How I unlocked my ATT S3 [ 1 2 3 ... Last ]
Thread By: Jasonator
I think you didn't understand the question. You pointed me to a thread about unlocking.
With a 4.3 bootloader, you will need to install a custom recovery to flash ROMs. If you want to restore a stock 4.3 ROM, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658486
With a 4.3 bootloader, you cannot use Odin to flash a stock ROM unless that ROM was specifically compiled for flashing via Odin.
No this is not possible. I have a LOCKED boot loader. I can't flash a custom recovery as far as I know.
Also how would one know a ROM is made to be flashed by Odin even if it was possible? Maybe I missed something here.
I re-read your original post and I'm a bit confused. You have a Telus s3 (i747m) or AT&T s3 (i747)?
I have never heard of an s3 having a locked bootloader. All of the phones with a stock 4.3 ROM have a bootloader that cannot be downgraded.

Sorry, I have a Telus I747M.
It seems all AT&T and Telus S3's have a locked boot loader after the upgrade to 4.3. This means you cannot flash CWM recovery to the phone anymore.
So, I beleive I can't fix it to put CWM recovery on but I may be able to flash a stock rom, I'm just not sure at this point what I can do. Based on your response it is not surprising I'm confused, there seems to be a LOT of conflicting information.
There are some stock ROMS that have already been rooted and I'm hoping I can flash one of those without bricking my phone.

sir, the one who got the wrong idea is you
the only S3 with locked bootloader is the verizon version
i747/M doesn't regardless of which version
which occurs to me that you might have done something wrong trying to root your device
though i've never tried this tool to root but many people succeeded rooting their phone with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963790
so try it out
but again, you said to flash a stock rom... you can do it via Kies(is that how it is called? it had been so long since i last used it) or you can just use ODIN to flash it
Regardless of the subject of that thread, the posts I indicated directly speak to your 747m downgrade question.

Can understand why some may be confused about the question. If you have stock 4.3 already (which is the latest version available), why would you want to flash another stock ROM? If you are talking about flashing an older stock ROM, yes it is possible, and there have been several posts on how you can successfully downgrade the system only without altering the bootloader. Attempting to downgrade the bootloader will, of course, cause a brick so downgrading ROM only is a rather complicated process that should be attempted only if there is a very worthwhile reason for this. So far, there are very few arguments, if any, for downgrading from 4.3 to any older stock ROM version. If you are trying to flash a rooted version of the same stock, you need to be sure it's one with the same bootloader. You may, however, find it easier simply keeping the current system and rooting via Safe Root. You can, however, flash a custom ROM if it won't attempt to mess with your bootloader . As far as recovery goes, even if you have stock 4.3, you can still flash custom recovery via Odin or other prescribed installation route. I'm not aware of 4.3 preventing the flashing of a custom recovery. I have an AT&T i747 with stock 4.3 and I've flashed custom recovery several times.

So when my bootloader says Qualcomm secure boot = 1, that means what exactly?
I haven't tried to root my phone yet.
Well actually it's a stock ROM that has been rooted. As per this page:

I think that means secure booting has been enabled. Secure booting has nothing to do with having a locked bootloader. From what I have read in other forums, a locked bootload would not allow you to load a custom kernel.

unbrick S3 sgh-i747m

hi
I think I just brick my roger SGH-I747m, I try to bring my phone back to 4.3 from 4.4.2, so I try to flash a 4.3 bootloader from twrp 2.6.3.0; but if give me a error message, then I took the battry out, and I can't start my phone anymore. Is there anything I can do to unbrick my S3 cause the phone is not mine and I will be kill from my sister if I told her I brick her phone. Please help!!!
Was it running stock 4.4.2 before you tried to go back to 4.3? If it was, there is no way to unbrick from 4.4.2 at the moment.
If you need it fixed really fast, a jtag service would be the quickest. Ming Wireless in downtown Toronto provides excellent service.
Actually, there may be hope here. Try the 4.4.2 256mb debrick.img in the debrick thread. Follow instructions there. Also please post there for further assistance.
There have been a couple of bricks recovered on NE4 firmware. As long as you didnt flash the new modem on 4.3 firmware there is hope.

If the OP was on stock 4.4.2 and tried to flash the 4.3 bootloader, would it actually flash the bootloader? If it did flash the 4.3 bootloader, would the debrick still work since the OP would have stock 4.4.2 with a 4.3 bootloader?
If he flashed it via custom recovery, and it wasn't protected by the assert function in the script, yes it could have flashed the older bootloader. Its not the attempt that bricks devices. Something has to actually be written (or corrupted) for it to brick. The only thing that worries me here is the modem. We know we cannot fix a device if it has the new modem flashed onto 4.3 firmware. However, I am not sure about flashing a full 4.3 package. If it does not include the modem, they will have ended up with the same resulting setup. Bust since it was done backwards, I do not know if it will be recoverable or not.
(I hope that makes sense)

How to manually update I747 to 4.4.2

Hey guys,
I got a I747 I want to give to my mother as a gift.
I downgraded 4.1.2 to 4.1.1 and ran the secret menu unlock to unlock the sim card, that worked perfectly.
Now I want to update this out of 4.1.1 to 4.4.2 but I cannot find a stock firmware to run on odin anywhere.
Do I need to go to 4.3 first? Is there a stock firmware for that?
SamMobile stops at 4.1.2... OTA obviously doesn't work.
How Can I get this done..

You can just flash stock 4.1.2 firmware from sammobile and then run OTA updates.
I also found this on sammobile: Canada (Bell Mobile) (Black Edition), Version: Android 4.4.2, PDA: I747MVLUFNE6
CSC: I747MOYCFNE6, MODEM: I747MVLUFNE6

Will it work though.
I have it already on my pc, I updated my wife's with it.
If I update to 4.1.2 will OTA come? Even with the I747(not the I747m) on the Bell network?

I have a Motorola Atrix from Bell. I flashed it with stock ATT firmware and received OTA updates from ATT over wi-fi.
Since you have the i747, start with stock pre-rooted ATT 4.1.1. This will flash the stock recovery, radio, and bootloader. Run triangle away, flash a stock unrooted ATT stock 4.1.1 ROM, and take the OTA updates.

Ok, so I guess it wasn't clear, my bad.
I have 4.1.1 stock firmware on my att 1747. It has never been rooted.
I run the Ota and I got an error, now it tells me "Your software is up to date".
Can I flash a bell i747m 4.4.2 image onto this i747 or will it brick?

You can flash i747m firmware on your phone but DO NOT flash the radios or bootloader from an i747m to an i747 and vice versa. Bricking is a really possibility if you do that.
Do you have a custom recovery? If you do, you will need to install a stock recovery.
Try resetting the phone (wiping cache, data) in recovery or through the ROM itself.

Alright, I have the stock recovery. How do I not flash the radio and boatloads when using the firmware from sammobile?
You cant. You cannot flash another devices firmware. Odin wont let it happen and if it did youd end up hard bricked due to mixed firmware. For example your sbl1, modemst and param partitions (plus others) would be i747 and youd be flashing sbl2, sbl3, rpm, etc from an I747M.
The only thing you could use are the system partition and kernel, nothing else. There are two ways to accomplish this, one is to build a rom from the firmware and flash that. The other is to flash with mobile odin, but that requires root and youd still have to be very careful.
Another priblem I see you encountering is you cannot run 4.4.2 without 4.3 or newer firmware. It will not boot otherwise.
You need to go to the General section and follow one of enewman17's tutorials to get to either 4.3 or 4.4.2. Personally, I dont see any other way you will be able to accomplish it.

Alright, based on Doc holiday, and others they say It cannot be done and from my experience I beleive them.
Thank you,
It's very difficult to do this when others are giving bad advice.
So for the record, cannot flash i747m firmware to i747.
Thanks!
The annoying part here is I can do it with my m7, I just flashed the Dev edition onto my Bell m7 with no problems.
All devices are different in many ways. What is perfectly safe to do with one brand or model can brick another.
And I wouldnt call it "bad" advice... I've seen audit13 and others helping lots of folks with very good advice. We all make mistakes and we all have more we can learn about these devices. No one knows everything about this stuff and shouldnt let that prevent them from trying to help.
Those who are trying to help are doing so with the best of intentions and tell people what they think could be the best way to solve a given problem. In cases like this one, its easy to see how anyone would think its ok to flash different firmware between similar models based on being able to do so on other devices they are familiar with. (If I had gone into those forums I wouldve been telling people the opposite and ended up being wrong there.)
All I can say is chalk it up as a new lesson on a different device, and I hope you still appreciate that someone was trying to help.
@audit13 I hope none of this discourages you from helping. Ive seen plenty of threads where your advice was sound and appreciated, and I am glad you have been around to help so many people out!
Now, back on the problem at hand... if you want to be running the latest 4.4.2 kk, you will have the option to use the OS (/system and kernel) from either the I747 or I747M firmware. But first you must fully update to a minimum of the 4.3 MJB firmware for the I747. Once you have this running for your base firmware/bootloader, you can then run the Bell or AT&T (4.3 or 4.4.2) system. (I hope this is making sense!)
So first, update the full 4.3, MJB, firmware via Odin. (Theres a thread in General with the file, ill post the link in a min).
If you want to update to 4.4.2 firmware, you can then follow enewman17's tutorial to do so via OTA.
You can then either stay with that, or use Mobile Odin to flash ONLY the system and kernel from the Bell firmware.
Let me know if any of that needs better clarification! Also let us know what your ultimate goal is. From the options you have, where do you want to end up?

After updating with the 4.3 firmware, you can first try using the official ota to update. Then, if that fails you can go to enewman17's thread and try his method.

Which 4.4.2 ROM did you flash?
BTW, the bootloader on the s3 i747 has never been locked.
i unlocked it with ez unlock by mistake., but it never came back on after restart...but managed to get it powering on with the sd card debrick image 4.4.2..i had dirty unicorn 4.4.2 rom installed..now im on stock 4.4.2 ucufne4 with imei and baseband restored...so how do i relock bootloader so it can boot without sd?..i think the the bootloader is unlocked..not too sure.
You cannot "re-lock" the bootloader as the bootloader was never locked to begin with.
Are you able to the phone into download mode? How did you install the ne4 bootloader and modem?
i was able to boot phone as normal in download mode or recovery..i flashed the ucufne4 modem which restored my baseband and imei..then i downloaded the stock 4.4.2 rooted odex which i flashed in recovery and returned to stock from dirty unicorns rom..but the phone jus wont boot without the sd debrick 4.4.2 image..without the sd its like a hard brick
Did you flash the ne4 bootloader?
bootloader or modem?..i did flash ne4 modem..dont kno wat seems to be preventing it from booting normally.
Depending on the ROM you flashed, it may not have included the bootloader.
so which rom should i flash to fix this...currently on stock rom 4.4.2 right now
Can you run a terminal command to get the bootloader? You can also download the Samsung Phone Info app from the Play store and it will give you lots of info about your phone.
when i type in getprop ro.bootloader...it says i747ucufne4 in terminal command
Seems to me you need the ne4 modem AND bootloader. I'm on ne4 and I flash all 4.4.4 and 5.0.x Roms. Maybe try from scratch and a cm11 ROM to begin with, that's a 4.4.4 ROM.....The newest modem and bootloader is NJ1 if all else fails do some research on the newer firmware
sent from my Savaged s3 using XDA
Sounds like you have the right bootloader and modem on your phone but there is no rom.
I suggest booting into download mode, flash philz custom recovery for the d2lte, flash the latest release of cm11, try to boot your phone without sd card.
i have installed the latest cm11 nightly build d2lte for i747...with ucufne4 modem..but phone still dosent boot without debrick sdcard...its like the phone is missing a file for booting...once the sdcard is in with debrick image it will boot..it probably reads from the sd instead of the board..still trying to figure out why this is happening..
finally i got it working...i installed d2att_I747UCUFNE4_bootloader_modem_4.4.2_7-29-14 zip and reinstalled cm11 and restarted phone..and it restarted with out sdcard..every thing is working fine now..gonna install dirty unicorns rom later..thank for the help and support guys.. really appreciate it

i747(at&t) no signals on t-mobile after CM12 flashed

i747 from at&t rooted and twrp installed . Flashed CM12 5.1.1 no signals from t-mobile.To make it work on T-Mobile from att stock i had to flash QCN(t999) via QPST by code *#7284# to change into diag. . But now after flashing cm12 ,it is not giving me signals .No calls no DATA . Now i can not flash T999 QCN again because secret codes are hidden . Is there something i can do, to get signals on CM12 . I want to enjoy 5.1.1 !:silly:. . I already tried all of the (i747)lollipop roms same results. can i flash tmobile rom on att is it possible (radios are different ) will that work ?. I forgot there was an apk that could bring up secret codes window forgot the name. If anyone knows or have a link .
You can flash the T999 roms, just not the firmware.

You never stated what bootloader and modem was on your device before you flashed any of the Lollipop Roms. On the i747 you need at least the NE4 bootloader and modem to get signal on 5.x.x.

Correct with the NE4 bootloader you can not downgrade without bricking your phone. Downgrades went out the window with MJB (Jellybean 4.3) and have not returned. Meaning you can never downgrade on MJB, NE4, NJ1, or NJ2.
With LK3 you could go upto MG2 (JB 4.1.2) or MJ2 (the leaked release of 4.3) and still be able to downgrade. I have downgraded while on MJ2 with no issues. I went down to LK3 from MJ2 in order to utilize the free sim unlock, I think DocHoliday mentioned it earlier. Since then I have gone back up to MJB and then to NE4, so I can no longer downgrade.

Plug into the computer and open device manager. Does it show connected as QHSUSB_DLOAD, or something else?
Did odin complete the flash and say PASS when it was done?

Where did you get an Odin flashable 4.3 stock rom? As far as I know AT&T never released an official one, nor have I ever seen one on sammobile. There may have been one put together by either loserskater or enewman17, but that one is rather hard to find.
Going from LK3 to MJB should cause no problems, I have done so myself. Going from NE4 to MJB is risking bricking your phone. I have read of some who have recovered from the bricking caused by the NE4 to MJB downgrade. Those used a debrick image on an external sdcard, the image was based on the bootloader that was running before the phone/device was bricked. There may be in the forums, but I'm not sure of that.

This person tells how he used a debrick image on a device he bricked flashing NE4 and provides some links. And the post following that one has links to NE4 debrick images.
Thanks guys for helping me out, i tried debrick with 64 gb class 10 sd and it worked now trying to flash firmware again .If any tips will be great, just read DocHoliday77 post that you need to remove sd before odin back to firmware. So after that, i wont have to boot with sd card is that right. Thanks for saving my eyes burning through frames by frame .. ( I still didn't get it why it's got bricked i was coming from lk3 4.1.1 to mjb 4.3 !)

I need a Quick help please i tried flashing mjb but phone still wont boot without sd card . Now download mode does not stay it comes and go the only option is i can get to recover from stock . So i need to flash bootloaders and modem only right from stock recovery i can not flash cwm or twrp .
After Debrick force phone to to boot from internal storage
Thanks DocHoliday77 and Larry2999 , I followed direction from Larry and used DocHoliday files . After debrick i was unable to boot without Debrick image from sdcard. Even after i flashed MJB with odin it was not working . All you have to do is to flash bootloader and modem to make it boot from internal storage . I add all the files in the link below.
I followed this direction http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2608260&page=2 . And files were uploaded by DocHoliday77 in one of the posts that i can not remember the actual link . I used philz_touch_6.48.4-d2lte.tar.md5 for recovery that worked for me twrp for some reason was not working.

To run a Lollipop ROM you will need to be on at least the NE4 bootloader and modem. You can find them in his NJ1 or NJ2 threads. It is not necessary to flash the ROMs, just the bootloader and modem. If you don't flash some KitKat or LP rom after updating the bootloader and modem, you may have issues running the MJB ROM. If you want newer than the NE4 bootloader and modem, be sure you flash them each in order, don't skip NE4 or NJ1 if you are going all of the way to NJ2. All of the mentioned bootloader/modem files can be found on enewman17's AFH profile.

I haven't tried any LP roms, so the best I could do is parrot back what I read in the threads. Correct on the flashing instructions, I have read of many doing so to go to LP. Others flashed the ROM first and then booted. They had issues with wifi, bluetooth, data, calls, etc until they went back and flashed the bootloader and modem.
