it's not easily possible to downgrade but you can use the files of my unbrick guide to downgrade, note that you shouldn't use the bootloader file http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2751224

[Q] Phone stuck at splashscreen odin fails

Hello my friend gave me his note II to look at ( GT-N7100) , he has never tried to do anything to it other than use it regularly a.k.a no modding etc..
His phone suddenly just started to hang at the screen where it says Galaxy note II. Recovery mode does not work but download mode works. I downloaded a stock firmware to flash on ODIN but I receive this error every time.

Wow. So a few minutes after I posted this thread, I managed to get it out of this state. I just Odin-ed CWM unto the phone and rebooted from recovery mode (it became available after I used Odin to put CWM unto the phone). And...that's it. My phone was encrypted before I attempted to use a stock image to remove it so when I rebooted (after I soft-bricked it and fixed that), it continued to be encrypted (but the password wouldn't work). However, I used adb to remove that and after reboot, the phone was working perfectly again.

[Resolved] [HELP] Complete(Wrtie) Operation failed

Phone can't go to recovery mode but can still go to download mode.

USB driver installed, tried different ports, different roms, usb cables
can anyone tell me what I can do?
Flash nk2 firmware instead of mdl and see if that works, there may be some remnant that won't allow you to flash ancient firmware.
Don't sweat knox, its harmless.
Pp.
Thanks! it works now.

Ive tried all different stock firmware and all of them do the same
You were running kit kat when you tried to root? I ask because that is what you're trying to Odin. If you were ever on lollipop bootloader beyond OB7 you cannot downgrade.
Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

I cannot downgrade from Android Oreo to Nougat.

I have in the past downgraded to Nougat from Oreo but this time I cannot and I don't know why. I'm doing everything the exact same way I did the last time but it doesn't work this time. It fails in every version of Odin I have tried. I have even tried the PrinceComsy edition and still no dice. On the Download Mode screen it has a Fused number and a Binary number. Also it has something that says ABL and I don't know what that is. I look at the log but don't understand what the log is trying to say. If anyone can help me out that would be awesome. Also here is the log report:
