Pair Minix Neo A2 - Ouya Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have bought a minix neo a2 to use like a remote controller with OUYA, but when I connected the USB dongle, nothing happens, and the controller doesn't work.
What I'm doing wrong? If I connect it to a computer, everything goes ok.
My OUYA has stock firmware and is rooted.
Thanks.
Best regards.

Looking for a game pad

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a gamepad case for my GNex, with some buttons and a joystick.
Does it already exist?
Thanks.
at first i was happy nobody answered this, but then i saw how recent it was... google it.
DualShock PS3 controller. Best and Cheapest options. A WiiMote = $50-$60. Cheap Bluetooth = $25-$30 (and suck). PS3 DualShock = $29 and flawless.
Wireless; joysticks work great; feels smooth; buttons are responsive; has lots of buttons; cheap.
I bought one at Gamestop for $29.
You have to connect it to your PC first and assign it the MAC of your Phone. Then it is bound specifically to your phone. Connects fast and highly recommended. I've been through several and I'm so glad the PS3 controllers are working.

Quick question. After I assign the controller to the phone, if I then go and connect it back to the ps3 itself, am I correct in assuming that I would have to re-connect it to my PC and re-assign it to my phone for it to connect wirelessly? (via sixaxis, of course)

yes, that is correct
Google "Gametel"
It was just released in December in the UK and EU and should be in the US soon enough.
Im using a Phonejoy, its a nice controller. I bought this one when I couldnt use my PS3 controller because of m SG S2 rom. But now im using it on my Gnex/Xoom.
I prefer to use this bluetooth device over any ps3 controller. With PS3 you need to change its IP then it wont work with PS3 until you rechange it... too much hassle when I can just turn my bluetooth and its ready. It got all the same function as the PS3 one.
You need BlueIMEZ market.
Also look for Icontrolpad, its more expensive but it can hold your device while playing.

Question: I have a dualshock that I use for my PS3, but if I am using it with the phone and assigning it the MAC does the controller now only work with the phone or could I use it for the PS3 as well?

Once assigned to the phone, it wont work with the PS3 until you rechange it to the original mac for the ps3. That what I hated from that... You cant use it on your phone, then just switch for the PS3, you always need to connect to pc, change mac.

[Q] Xbox 360 controller not supported?

I recently bought myself a cheapie tablet - Lenovo a3500, the only reason being, to watch movies, read some comics, and game on the go a little. Imagine my surprise, when everything works just fine, but my xbox 360 controller doesn't work. I plug in the OTG cable, plug in my controller, and all that happens, is the light flashes on my controller. What could be the problem? Every other USB device works just fine, even an old, cheap PS2 knock-off controller works, but not the xbox 360 one.
Tablet's specs:
CPU:Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7
GPU:Mali-400MP2
Android version: 4.4.2 KitKat
Any help with this problem will be appreciated!

I use an xbox 360 controller with my pc, and I know when you plug it in for the first time, it needs to find and download the drivers for it to work, which means the 360 controller doesn't just work out of the box; it needs special drivers which I'm sure android doesn't have. There may be some apks out there that would allow it to run on android, but that may require the tablet to be rooted.

The controller isn't straight out of the box, I've actually used it quite a bit on my PC. After digging around the Internet a bit I found out, that the Xbox keylayout file may be missing from my tablet, but that's all I got.
The only reason I haven't rooted my device, is that out of the three times I've tried rooting only one time has been successful, and I really don't want to send my brand new tablet to get repaired. I tried the towelroot method today, but sadly that didn't work.

[Q] Is it possible to get Xbox Controller working on Tab Pro 10.1

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has had success in using an Xbox 360 pad with Tab Pro 10.1? I have a wired an official wired Xbox controller and a USB OTG cable. The tablet picks up the OTG cable fine and picks up things like USB sticks no problem however it just will not work with the Xbox pad, doesn't give a message etc, the lights are on for the pad so there is power but nothing works. I have tried this with latest stock ROM (unrooted etc) and it did nothing, I have also tried this with the latest CM12 nightly and still nothing. I know the OTG cable is fine as the Xbox pad works perfectly through my Oneplus One first time no issues.
Any help is appreciated thanks.

I think you need a custom kernel that can do this. Though I'm not sure and if there is any for your device
UP UP UP
Please I have the same issue!
Someone already use xbox controller with his Galaxy Tab pro 10.1 or 12.2 because it's the same hardware?

same here
I don't know why I bought the Tab Pro, it has been a very mediocre tablet, I actually swore off all Samsung tablets after owning the absolute horrid Tab 3 but I got a really god deal on the Tab Pro, just 200.. Anyway I recently bought a Nvidia Shield 32GB, LTE to replace the Tab Pro as my main tablet. Anyway the Shield has turned out to be just an incredible tablet, blows the Tab Pro away in every conceivable way, especially in speed and stability. Anyway I thought I would use the Tab Pro as a TV/gaming set box, well it couldn't even do that well, their's black bars on either side of the TV when connected via HDMI or Miracast, my Xbox controller doesn't work and I can't have both the HDMI plugged in and Xbox controller at the same time, so gaming on the TV is out of the question unless I get a Bluetooth controller. The Shield of course has an HDMI out, which will be a must have feature for any new tablet I buy going further as I hate dongles. That and it must have a Tegra chip, holy crap is the K1 fast, I will defiantly be buying the next iteration with the X1 and of course the new Shield TV set box.
Anyway I tried everything I could think of to get the Xbox controller to work in both the Touchwiz and Cyanogenmod 12 ROM. Even copied over the Xbox km file to /system/usr/ nothing. This is really driving me crazy.
What's up with these developer people man? Are they American or something? I mean, can't we all just get along???!?
I didn't just offend most people on here did I?
What I REALLY mean is.. Why does a Playstation controller work with samsung tablets but not an XBOX controller?
It is possible to connect an android device with 360 controller, there is plenty of videos in YouTube.

Yea but most of them are as follows:
Hi this is my youtube video. And I'm going to show you how to connect your xbox 360 controller to your android device using an otg cable?
So first you need to buy an otg cable in order to hook your 360 controller using an otg cable? like ok? Know where I'm coming from?
so like, get your android device and hold it in your hand. I like to hold mine in my right hand, but you can hold it in any hand. You might be left handed, or maybe you're right handed but you still wanna hold it with your left hand? Maybe you're one of those omni people who can use both hands....
Long story short, they say "Plug this cable into that cable and then that cable into your device and it SHOULD work".
It doesn't work bro.

PS3/4 DualShock controller support?

Got a new XA1 Ultra (G3223) and I was hoping to use my old DualShock 3 controller with it for games, especially emulators.
The DS3 does work fine when wired into a PC or my old Moto G running LineageOS, but when I plug the controller into my XA1 Ultra using a Type-C to Type A OTG adapter it doesn't seem to be recognized or work at all.
All other USB devices I've tried work right away when plugged into the the adapter (Logitech wired game controller, flash drives, keyboards, wireless mice)
Has anyone had better success getting any PlayStation controllers to work with the XA1 Ultra? Would rooting make any difference? Does Sony intentionally disable support for their own controllers on some phones for some reason? I know they are officially supported on some Xperia phones, but seems very strange to me that the Logitech controller which is basically a wired DS3 knock-off works perfectly but an actual Sony controller doesn't.
The battery in my DS3 is long dead so no way to try wireless right now, was thinking about maybe buying a replacement battery to be able to use it with the Sixaxis Controller app which I already own, if/when I root my XA1 Ultra that is, but I think you need to wire the controller in to pair it in the first place.. unless that has changed.
Might also just wait and buy the 8bitdo SNES30 Pro when it's released..
I have the same problem, I have been using xperia phones for about 4 years, first a T2 ultra, then a C5 ultra, with those didn't have any trouble using my dualshock4 controller, then I got the Xa1 ultra, and the controller does not work with it. I think it has to do with the fact, that Sony now supports ps4 remote play on Android, but only in their High end phones, I think they (badly) removed the driver in the other phones. That's SO WRONG! probably my next phone won't be a xperia!

Connecting a video game controller to headunit

I have a Dasaita 10.2 PX6 Head unit and I was just curious is there a way to connect an xbox or ps4 controller to it to play games? I've tried Bluetooth but it won't connect just phones and wired doesn't do anything as well as far as I can tell. is there a developer option you can access like on an android phone or regulars tablet in order to "Activate it"?
I just purchased and installed a Dasaita 10.2 PX6 in my 4Runner. I was not able to get my PS4, Xbox One, Switch, or iPad bluetooth wireless controllers to work. I think this is because when the head unit tries to connect via Bluetooth it requires a 4 digit pin from the connecting device.
The good news is that I was able to get a wireless controller with a 2.4GHz USB receiver (dongle) to work with it. I downloaded Retroarch and can play games as well as control the head unit home home screen, etc with this setup.
Obviously you will need the USB port in your car connected to the head unit for this to work. This technique also works with my Logitech MX Master 3 mouse and wired USB keyboard. I assume it will work with any controller that utilizes a 2.4GHz USB receiver.
