Hey guys, I really need some assistance. I had rooted my phone a couple weeks back and now it runs the latest TWRP. Currently I have a System Update for my phone, but everytime I try to update it brings me to the TWRP Recovery menu and I dont know what to do from there. I had attempted to unroot my phone as well and that has also failed. If there is someone who can help me out with this problem, I'd be extremely grateful.

probably easiest to flash the RUU for t-mobile. you can get it from http://www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads. You will have to relock the bootloader first from what i have heard unless you are s-off. relocking the bootloader is fastboot oem lock
I'm in the same boat. Can you even do the update through TWRP?
I'm also not sure I even rooted this properly (new to HTC) for the reason of whenever I plug in the charger when the phone is powered off, I get this orange type of text warning then it flickers to the TWRP screen before finally displaying the charging animation.
Ruu

What does that mean?
Look through the 4.4.3 post. Plenty of info in that post.

Should be S-ON again first, and RUU
Just unlock the bootloader, relock it, and run the ruu, worked for me or just boot up into fastboot and re run ruu

here's the situation
i have recently bought refurbished htc one x
i wanted to update it with offical jelly bean update it showed me
th update downloaded and i proceed to install it, i was a long time on the installing icon so i left my phone, when i got back it wouldnt turn on like the batery was empty
before doing the update it showed around 50% so i wasnt thinking about it, but it seems i died during the update
now - i cannot turn my phone on, its stuck on htc logo, i can access bootloader mode, it says i have hboot 1,12
radio 5.1204.162,29
the bootloader is locked
could someone tell me in simple steps how to bring it alive? is it even possible?
I havent flashed my one x in a while, but try charge it as much as you can while in recovery or bootloader mode.
Then try unlocking the bootloader using htcdev and Hasoons all in one toolkit from the dev section.
That will help you get a custom recovery installed and allow you to reinstall another firmware.
Not sure how much you already know so I apologise if this is basic info haha.
Also dont forget to flash the boot.img if you go with a custom rom
Good luck

Return it for repair if you can. Unlocking bootloader is the hard way out if you ask me.

A ruu might be a way out, but it's a long shot because the ruu doesn't need a unlocked bootloader.

Try this first.
I completely forgot about RUUs. You need to get the one that matches your CID

Sending it for repair isnt really an option as i bought the device and now im leaving the uk.
so they would send it back to me as ill be in another country.
also i opened it as i had the anthena problem but i solved it.
software speaking, as that is the problem, is it harf to fix?
i had couple of androids and customized all of them, but im new to htc and all that ruu,cids...
i dont mind custom rom, right now i just want to recover any functionality.
So if the ruu is the easiest way out is there a newbie tutorial? as i cant find it
and is unlocking the bootloader, flashing a custom recovery ans rom is so complicated to other devices?
i dont.know.what do you nean by flashing boot.img while flashing rom
When you run an ruu the computer end of it walks you through what to do. Make sure you have latest version of htc sync installed and do exactly what it says. Also returning it is the best option under normal circumstances. I did exactly that when ota wrecked my shift
Hey all,
My friend's phone used to boot it to the bootloader after every 6 hours or so on its own. Now it booted again to the bootloader and bootloops to the HTC screen and bootloader. It is S-ON and bootloader is locked. I can see option for fastboot, recovery. Havent tried anything yet. No custom rom was ever installed and was never rooted.
hboot version is 1.36.0000
Also it shows a warning that Battery Level is too low to flash.
is there anything be done to restore the phone or is it hard bricked?
if you want screenshot of the bootloader then I can post.
EDIT: Screenshow of the bootloader screen attached
Install RUU. It should fix your problem.

Ran the battery boosting script. Was able to exectute the unlock.bin command. It went successfully. Phone asked me to accept the disclaimer voiding warranty. I did that. Rebooted the bootloader. And still, it shows as locked but now with a Security warning. Along with the batterly level too low to flash warning.
Any help? I was trying to unlock the bootloader and install custom recovery to charge the phone atleast 30%.
UPDATE: After sever re-tries I figured out, now when on the htc disclaimer screen when I use volume buttons to select Yes, the power button to select doesn't responds, but for no it works.!
Don't know what my phone is upto. it is getting too much frustrating to me.
UPDATE: Got another unlock_code.bin from HTCDev. But now another problem is there. No matter how many times I try the device stays unlocked. I tried almost 15 stays in a row and I stays locked. Any idea how can I get out of this mess?
I am unlocked, rooted, s-off and running 4.3 on my AT&T m8. I recently flashed Viper One, which was my first ROM on this phone, and I no longer have a boot animation, for a while I thought I was stuck on the boot screen but it turns out that I have no boot animation. When I restart my phone all I get is the red text screen, lasts for maybe 3-4 minutes and then the screen turns off when the phone has booted. I asked in the Venom IRC and no one seemed to know what the problem was, so I just thought I would ask here. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it, thanks!

Question I really read a lot.
As the ROM thread of Viper One states it is designed for FW 2.22.401.x Did you flash the newest FW? If yes you should have a boot animation.
Hit "Thanks" if I was if any help

Yes I am on 2.22.401.4, that seemed to be what the people in the IRC seemed to think as well. I have considered going to 2.22.1540.3 and trying again but haven't had time to do so yet.

Please don't posts multiple threads asking the same question. I answered your question and attempted to help you here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/help/boot-animation-restarting-installing-t2849818
Did you manually flash firmware with fastboot? If not, you are not on the new 2.22 firmware. Also check your hboot, if on the new firmware, it will be 3.18.
Otherwise, 2.22.1540 firmware is recommended for US users, so flash it.
Hi, I did the bootloader unlock, then flashed twrp recovery and rooted my one m8 to remove some default system apps. I did this as I liked the htc 10 concept, so followed it. Now after all that I, I did a reset of my phone to remove root and flashed back the original recovery file. And I relocked the bootloader to try to make it all back to normal and thinking that warning sign "This build is for development purposes only n so on..." will go. But the problem came when i did the relock of the bootloader, and restarted the phone I got stuck in fastboot/hboot. Restarted many times even did factory reset from stock recovery but still stuck on fastboot/hboot. So I had no option to unlock bootloader again and get my phone working .
Please I want to remove the "This build is for development purposes only n so on..." being in unlock bootloader or locked bootloader doesn't matter .

Now please note I have unlocked htc m8 Smartphone with S-on ....
Please, please. Use the search bar next time. But you have to be S-Off. There's no way to clear that message with S-On.

Thanks, I just installed my stock rom and recovery back and relocked it..... its all fine now, just sense home update does not happens. In google play it shows incompatible due to maybe some imposed restrictions by HTC . I have to manually update it for now .
