i unlocked my bootloader and loaded a new rom, but i want to revert to stock rom, but didnt make a backup. so i downloaded the correct RUU for my device and its downloaded and whenever i run it it works ok, but its been going for over two hours, just saying sending, the bar is still moving but should it be taking this long? it says it should take around ten minutes
p.s ive relocked the bootloader and have made sure i have over 70% battery, and also i was on the fastboot screen when i started the RUU.
please help many thanks

Should be S-ON again first, and RUU
Just unlock the bootloader, relock it, and run the ruu, worked for me or just boot up into fastboot and re run ruu

I desparately need the 2.17 H3G (Three UK) RUU to restore my HOX from a bootloop. If anyone could help they would be a lifesaver.
You only need the RUU if you want to go back to stock.
If you want to fix your bootloop, you need to fastboot flash the latest recovery, fastboot flash boot boot.img fastboot erase cache, and then in recovery clear caches and wipe partitions, flash the ROM.

Pretty sure a google won't go a miss... I had a link but I really can't get it because I'm on my phone, it's out there but the site I got it off accidently named it wrong. They called it 1.29 and we all know that three didn't release the 1.29 update... So... It has to be 2.17 because all the other versions are there including 1.28 and 1.26.

Cheers I downloaded that RUU from filefactory. I was able to relock the bootloader. My problem now is that the phone has less than 30% battery charge. And I can't get it to charge.
I will never buy a network branded phone ever again. And I wont mess about with roms again. Having said that I installed custom roms in the HTC Desire, homebrew on the Palm Pre, various roms via odin on the SGS2.
I still like the HOX. I guess there is no such thing as a perfect phone in either hardware or software.
If I can't sort it I will order a new HOX directly from a very famous online retailer with a very generous return policy and .....

If you tried to do the pj something something firmware update... That...was pretty foolish considering I have a ThreeUK and mines branded, so I presume yous must me.. our cid...is...not...yet...supported...for sensed jellybean AND the firmware update.
Just wait till 3 push jellybean or... A dev or some clever person works it all out.
Or try a aosp or some other jellybean rom.
You should try fastboot flash boot boot.img your chosen rom.
Then fastboot erase cache, then flash the rom.zip through recovery.

Nope I've got the same issue . None of the stock RUU's available will load on the latest H3G version to take it back to stock.so far
I should also say that using the Automatic one x flasher it took me ten minutes to re unlock , flash cwm and install ARHD to have a perfectly good phone again
I am having the exact same problem. I had stock rom 3 UK locked and I thought that flashing a custom rom would unlock the carrier. Now I am stuck with bootloop. I can enter fastboot and recovery but I can't find H3G 2.17.771.3 RUU anywhere to return to stock and have a working phone again. Is there any solution for my problem? How can I at least return to stock H3G rom?
Found the ruu for you. This one worked for me. Have uploaded to my dropbox account.

Wow thanks man. I'll try it out and get back with the result. I was really out of hope.
EDIT:
It worked! The first time I tried updating it said it couldn't update, but the second time it worked perfectly. Now my phone finally boots and I can use an unlock code to get rid of the carrier lock. Thank you spikeydoo2006 for the RUU. It should be posted in the index so other people with my problem can find it easier.
Im running CyanogenMod10 on my HTC one x and i was wondering if there was a way to get this working on my device?
edit: got it working thanks spikey saved me!
here's the situation
i have recently bought refurbished htc one x
i wanted to update it with offical jelly bean update it showed me
th update downloaded and i proceed to install it, i was a long time on the installing icon so i left my phone, when i got back it wouldnt turn on like the batery was empty
before doing the update it showed around 50% so i wasnt thinking about it, but it seems i died during the update
now - i cannot turn my phone on, its stuck on htc logo, i can access bootloader mode, it says i have hboot 1,12
radio 5.1204.162,29
the bootloader is locked
could someone tell me in simple steps how to bring it alive? is it even possible?
I havent flashed my one x in a while, but try charge it as much as you can while in recovery or bootloader mode.
Then try unlocking the bootloader using htcdev and Hasoons all in one toolkit from the dev section.
That will help you get a custom recovery installed and allow you to reinstall another firmware.
Not sure how much you already know so I apologise if this is basic info haha.
Also dont forget to flash the boot.img if you go with a custom rom
Good luck

Return it for repair if you can. Unlocking bootloader is the hard way out if you ask me.

A ruu might be a way out, but it's a long shot because the ruu doesn't need a unlocked bootloader.

I completely forgot about RUUs. You need to get the one that matches your CID

Sending it for repair isnt really an option as i bought the device and now im leaving the uk.
so they would send it back to me as ill be in another country.
also i opened it as i had the anthena problem but i solved it.
software speaking, as that is the problem, is it harf to fix?
i had couple of androids and customized all of them, but im new to htc and all that ruu,cids...
i dont mind custom rom, right now i just want to recover any functionality.
So if the ruu is the easiest way out is there a newbie tutorial? as i cant find it
and is unlocking the bootloader, flashing a custom recovery ans rom is so complicated to other devices?
i dont.know.what do you nean by flashing boot.img while flashing rom
When you run an ruu the computer end of it walks you through what to do. Make sure you have latest version of htc sync installed and do exactly what it says. Also returning it is the best option under normal circumstances. I did exactly that when ota wrecked my shift
Hi,
I'm trying to restore my One X back to stock, but I can't find the right files. Then when I do find a guide it's not always clear what you have to do.
HBOOT 1.36.0000

I have RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_O2_UK_2.17.206.2_Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_275038_signed.exe, but it's only 15MB, and running it does nothing.

For this main version only nandroid backup!
I was really hoping that wasn't the case. My phone's battery has stopped charging, and the only way to get it to turn on is to connect it to a computer.
If I take it to O2 they are going to know it's been rooted and won't support it. That's why I want to take it back to stock.
Thanks for the quick reply though.

Not quite sure what you mean there, sorry.
If I plug the phone in to a computer and leave it for 10-15 minutes, the charge light will start flashing on and off slowly. About 5-10 minutes later I will be able to boot the phone up. From there it works fine, except that it is not charging. Battery level is apparently 66%, and has been for the last two days straight. No matter what happens, how many times it dies and gets rebooted, no matter how long it is on charge, the battery is still stuck at 66%.
If I disconnect the phone, it will last for a few minutes, then die. Or it will freeze up, and when I turn it off, it won't come back on again.
I'm using the Clockwork Mod.

Actually, I have nandroid backup restored on my phone. But I also have .exe file that installs stock of version 3.14.401.31. Is it called RUU?(Rom Update Utility). I might be wrong, correct me if I am.
I'm gonna give instructions for restoring the backup, because it'll get you higher version of android & htc sense(android 4.2.2, sense 5.0).
While the file is uploading, check your HBOOT version, it should be 1.39 at least. If it is lower, you have to increase version of hboot.
The ruu 3.14.401 is of no use for somebody who has a locked phone to O2. That won't install on a 206 main.
Stock backups and instructions are here already
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
And ruu files can be found here already for quite some time.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094113
So if you are referring to the 3.14.401 you can save yourself the hassle because the OP can't use it at all
Hey guys, I really need some assistance. I had rooted my phone a couple weeks back and now it runs the latest TWRP. Currently I have a System Update for my phone, but everytime I try to update it brings me to the TWRP Recovery menu and I dont know what to do from there. I had attempted to unroot my phone as well and that has also failed. If there is someone who can help me out with this problem, I'd be extremely grateful.

probably easiest to flash the RUU for t-mobile. you can get it from http://www.htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads. You will have to relock the bootloader first from what i have heard unless you are s-off. relocking the bootloader is fastboot oem lock
I'm in the same boat. Can you even do the update through TWRP?
I'm also not sure I even rooted this properly (new to HTC) for the reason of whenever I plug in the charger when the phone is powered off, I get this orange type of text warning then it flickers to the TWRP screen before finally displaying the charging animation.
