After flashing a new boot.img making it unsecure using android kitchen, why do I get bootloop and how must I fix it? I also get bootloop when I replace a kernel with a custumized one with matching kernel code. This problem is very persistent for me. Any answer is appreciated. Thanks. My phone is also unlocked and rooted. Im using twrp recovery.
Reflash the original boot.img from the rom you have installed and also reflash the rom itself with a cache wipe only so the modules match too for sure.

Could there be any other reason? Misplaced headers?, if so how would I fix that?
Well you flashed something so you have to flash something back to original....its pure logic
It's all in compatibility

Ive done what you said in regards to elimating bootloop for using the regular rom and flashing the stock boot image first. However when I tweak the kernel zImage and repack into the boot.img then flash it, it goes into bootloop. I really want to use my tweaked kernel lol Any ideas on that? Ive even used your stated method for that but it doesnt work. I used android kitchen 0.224 to unpack and repack the boot.img.

If it just to edit the ramdisk like making it unsecure or put some tweaks in it ....
try this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2073775
I'm still using version 1.8, not yet test 2.0 .. but should work better.

It worked like a charm. My phone actually booted properly without going into bootloop with my custom kernel repacked. Thank you. I will give a donation to you soon It took me over a month figuring out how to accomplish this starting from scratch with no knowledge of linux or kernel compilation or C language I learn quickly though

hi guys,
im running into problems.
after using kitchen and signing my rom etc, I try to flash it but it says:
Code:
assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img","boot" android
I saw many people have this problem, and some say coverting to edify works.
however edify is not supported by newer recoveries.
any devs faced this problem and know how to fix??
Nope. Never had this problem. Just download Phiexz's or Delanoiter's kernel and look at the updater-script. Just copy the boot.img part

Yes you can still use your boot.img
In the updater-script look for the process where it's flash the kernel / boot.img

Yes you need Notepad++.
Select all your text and go to Edit > EOL Conversion > UNIX Format
And if you want to see the hidden format look at the picture below. It should say LF for UNIX and CR LF for Windows

Yeah I tried this too and it didn't work. The Desire Z is compatible though so all you need to do is follow the guide further on down: just open up the zip, locate the script you want (e.g for 100MB in cache, open zip and go to swap/cache/100/etc/init.d/ and copy the 98swap_cache_v300 file out). Then copy it to system/etc/init.d and make sure the permissions are 755 and root.root.

It was the stock recovery from king doing the problem.
I found the stock Indian recovery from the OTA .zip itself.

I havent modified a single line in build.prop file, and I already am using your 1.50 ROM backup from your thread, so I guess I will skip the 1.58 update and wait for the next update in your thread

Hey guys I'm kinda new to Android I've had a chappy phone and now an LG g pad after attempting root about a dozen times I finally managed to get it root now I am trying to get TWRP to backup the tablet and change the boot animation later but every time I tried on my pc it would fail so I installed flashify and tried with that I then I got a boot error saying security issues. The tablet stills boots but I believe the problem is the locked boot loader. Thanks for any help offered.

Have you installed root checker or another program to confirm that you do, in fact, have root? Start with that.
If you haven't installed a superuser app to handle permissions, I'd do that as well before trying to install TWRP.
I'll admit I had troubles installing TWRP as well, when looking at the forums, make sure you're downloading the version for your EXACT version of android and firmware, and following the instructions for the right version as well. Good luck!
