What is the stock voice command on the E980? I went through all defaults and Titanium back up and can't find it to freeze it or clear defaults. I want to use another voice command program VIA BLUETOOTH but I can not as long as the stock command is the default.

I went into Titanium back and "froze" Voice command 1.1.14.... I assume this is the stock voice command. I'm using "my moto speak" as it does BT voice, text, etc.

freezing won't solve the problem as when you reboot your phone it will again start working.
just make a backup and uninstall it and use your desired app.

I just updated my Tmobile dash to the RUU_Excalibur_HTC_WWE_Brightpoint_US_1.33.422.1_4.1.13.51_03.07.90_Ship ROM and now the voice commands seems to have disapeared.
In the old TMOBILE phone, I was able to see the app and also click on my headset to activate. Now that setting seems to have disappeared and I get the message "no voice tag setup" (or something like that).
Can anyone help me get this working again? It was a great feature which allowed me to call on the fly using only my headset while leaving my phone in my bag.
Forgive me if I am posting anything in the wrong place or re-posting. I am a newbie to this and forum.
Thanks

When you install the voice command app to the new wm6 HTC ROM, the way its described in this link, it works like a charm, the same way it does on the T-Mobile wm6 ROM. Just follow the instructions to a "T"....................!
THANKS!!! Worked perfectly..
FYI - you have to remove the shortcut from start folder otherwise you will get an error when trying to copy files into the prog folder.
Then paste the shortcut back in.

Yes, that is essentially step 2 in the instructions:
remove the lnk from the Voice Command item in the startup folder
what is described is changing the extension of the shortcut by removing lnk

yea its weird.........
i restart computer and everything. still can't get the files in there.....
any way u can make me a new rar.......
I can't extract either, I'm using Universal Extractor. Whenever I extract, all I get is a readme type file.
I extracted the folder from the second link. When I opened that folder, there is another folder called Voice Command DASH. I opened that folder, and then copied all 34 files to the \Program Files\Voice Command folder. When i try to copy the files from the second link to the program files\Voice Command folder, I get the following message:
cannot copy enu_g2p: There has been a sharing violation. The source or destination file may be in use.
Any ideas?

i had to open it in winrar and repair and remake it.
and then it would extract again.

Funny thing is that in the \Windows\Startup folder, I don't see the .lnk. I have unchecked the box to hide extensions for known file type. Also, I just try and copy the shortcut from the Startup folder to my computer desktop and then soft-reset the phone. Everytime I soft reset the phone, it still places the shortcut in the \Windows\Startup folder.
I finally got it to work!!!
Instead of renaming the shortcut from the \Windows\Startup, I went and just copied it to desktop. However, after a few times, I followed the instructions and instead of renaming the shortcut again and adding .lnk to the end, I just dragged and dropped from my desktop to the \Windows\Startup folder.

I downloaded a swype.apk and installed it.
My ROM is Virtuous.
When I go to settings>Language and Keyboard, I see swype, and I check it.
But when I go to type with onscreen keyboard, Swype doesn't come up.
What gives?
Try long pressing in the text field and select input method and then swype. Alternate way is in the settings, language and keyboard where you checked swype. Uncheck android keyboard. Both methods shoulds work.

If you are installing swype, I assume you have flashed a non-stock ROM. You also need to restore libSywpeCore.so to the system\lib. This can be done through root explorer on the phone or through adb commands.
Try searching here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=837599.

I slid my keyboard open and long pressed the txt thing and i selected swype.
TEE HEE IT WORKED!
SHould I post the apk file up on here?

DO NOT post the apk file here, it is considered warez and you can and likely will be banned(or suspended)
Why do you have to push the libcore? I pulled the swype apk from a different rom and installed via root manager and it is working fine.
Can anyone please upload voice command apk?
I deleted it but now i want it back for driving mode
Sorry for dumping this thread but i was also searching for this application. Can anybody provide this Voice Command App which can be used on Custom Rom ?.

Thanks i installed, but cant seem to find the program in start/metro menu ?
EDIT: fixed deleting the "Dependencies" folder (or at least the VCLibs dependencies within the folder) in the Package Install folder - the one where you run the PowerShell command to install the app.
Then reinstall.

The design looks really nice... Are you going to add protocol to it, so that App's can launch to it or certain links, etc?

I installed but could not get a icon to appear to launch the program.
Reboot, delete the Dependencies folder which is in the folder that you downloaded and extracted.
Then re-run the set-up, this worked for me.

Should work , although I did just to make sure, it's only going to reinstall but with out the dependencies.
From my fingers to your face.
it would be nice if someone made a whatsapp version for win8
Hey where is it supposed to load the contacts since its on for like 5 mins and i still dont have my skype contacts
This looks great! After deleting the dependencies folder installed and runs like a charm! Good Job... Is there a way to add new contacts in this or accept requests though? I just don't see the option.
Great work!

Worked like a charm! Thank you! For those trying to install: You can leave the Dependencies folder just where it was... for me it was working fine with, but gave an error without. One last thing: There doesn't seem to be an option to log out... I had to kill it via taskmanager lol...
Worked great. Thanks!
PS: Some other nice app available for Metro? I didn't find many... yet.

Sent From My YP-G1 running ICS build 3.5
Hello, XDA! Today, I'll be showing you how to get unlimited skips/song select in Spotify on the OnePlus 5.
Code:
/*
If you are rooted or you have adb enabled and installed
on your computer, skip to the bold section of this post.
If you don't have this done or you don't know how to
do this, read the whole post.
*/
This will require root (root guide for OnePlus 5 here, I recommend using Magisk and not SuperSU.) or ADB.
To enable ADB, just scroll down in Settings to About phone, scroll all the way to the bottom and press Build Number 7 times; this will activate Developer Mode. Go back to the main page in Settings, Developer Mode is near the bottom. From Developer options, you can activate USB debugging (which is ADB). You can download Android SDK Platform-Tools from here. Extract the .zip, go into the folder named platform-tools, and open CMD or Terminal (CMD for Windows, Terminal for Mac/Linux) and drag ADB into the CMD/Terminal to run ADB.
Code:
adb shell
would be
Code:
(drag adb file here) shell
but would show up as something like
Code:
/Users/username/Downloads/platform-tools/adb shell
Once you have rooted or enabled ADB, you can download a new app called jOnePlus Tools [adb/root] from the Play Store. jOnePlus is a modding application for the OxygenOS 4.5.x.
When you open jOnePlus Tools, it will ask for SuperUser Rights (if you are rooted). Select Grant to allow it to 'change' the system. It will then bring up a message that says Permission Denied and it will tell you to grant WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS by running
Code:
adb shell pm grant net.jroot3d.joneplustools android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
over USB. You can either connect your phone to your computer over USB and enable USB Debugging and run
Code:
adb shell pm grant net.jroot3d.joneplustools android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
on the computer. If you are rooted, you can skip the whole ADB step; just press GRANT WITH ROOT.
Once you've enabled permissions with adb or root, press the gear icon near the top right, press General, and then Enable experimental features. Go back to the main screen of jOnePlus Tools and press the square-circle shape near the top-middle of the screen. Scroll to the bottom and press 4k (2160x3840). It will lag a bit for about 20 seconds at most. Close Spotify if open. Now launch Spotify. (If your home screen appears to be messed up or corrupted, DON'T FRET! It may be confused because your device is telling it a different resolution. This is temporary.) If you can't click on home screen icons correctly, you can hold the home button to launch Google Assistant and say Open Spotify. When you launch Spotify, it should allow you to have unlimited skips/song select. This is because your Spotify sees your screen size as 2160x3840, a tablet size. The tablet version of Spotify has unlimited song select and skips. Spotify only checks your screen size when it launches, so you can go back to jOnePlus Tools and put you resolution back at Full HD (1080x1920) Default. If you close Spotify, you may need to change your resolution back to 4k again before launching if you want unlimited skips/select (and then back to Full HD Default after launching).

Thanks, but an easier solution is to directly install "spotify dogfood" : see dedicated xda thread : https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/mod-spotify-dogfood-ad-free-spotify-t3632423
edit :
This mod works without root, it's just a simple apk to install

download it, install it and then you can have spotify dogfood always up to date.
*Note* You need to unistall any previous spotify version before installed the moded spotify
