I have a quick question regarding which ROMs are available to me. I'm using a T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 but there is very little development in that area (less that ten threads). I'd like to know if other GSM ROMs are flushable on the SGH-T889 (T-Mobile) device. I know that this has been the case with other devices in the past. Please advise. Thanks.

No, they are not suited for your device. Only for GT-N7100 HSPA+ version in this forum, not for LTE or Dual Core devices.
The T-Mobile version is HSPA+ and it's quad-core, not dual-core. It is technically LTE capable but it isn't used. It is basically the same as the international version.

Why if i got 3G/HSDPA network on my HTC desire Z, i can´t get 3G/HSDPA data, just EDGE:crying:
-Carrier: Orange DO
-Android version: 4.4.2 KitKat
neither won´t connect in the stock firmaware. never connect 3G data. just EDGE, but my settings are in 3G, i don´t understand
somebody help me!!!:good::good:
What kind of ROM are you using?
i´m using cyanogenmod 11 2014-01-22 unofficial-vision, i tried with this command (*#*#4636#*#*) to change de base band frecuency and nothing.
Do you have a g2 or desirez, they use different frequencies. You can check with your carrier to see what bands you use and match this to gsm arena to see if its compatible

really i got a t-mobile g2 . and i compare the bands with mi actual carrier, but in the options i can select 2G/3G data, and i got 3G/WCDMA network select but no data, just EDGE.
So your carrier uses 1700 and 2100 bands?

If your carrier runs on the same frequencies as AT&T US does, you're not gonna have anything other than Edge data. I use them on a T-Mobile G2, which is how I know firsthand .
I'm on cricket cdma, I'll be purchasing a g3 to go on cricket gsm. To one day if i'd like bounce between sprint and new cricket as I please.
Now the dilemma here is which is the g3 that will enable me to do so. That is also unlockable rootable and backupable, as well as has the qi charging backside. (I've only read here and there att ver does not have that)
I'm left with sprints actual g3 t mobile's, or Verizon's....
Please help me in my hunt thanks.

T-Mobile has a unlockable BL according to reports. So that's your best bet and it supports qi.

I meant unlockable in terms of cdma, and gsm capabilities
Would t mobile still be best?
On the other note I have been bartering someone for a locked sprint g3 as low as 400 bucs I figure ill never find it.that low ever for some.time but its locked so is the cheapness worth it ?
Should I install an ATT ROM? and will I lose my unlock if I install a custom ROM?
Verizon one comes SIM unlocked out of the box. Are you talking about the bootloader unlock?
The 6500LVW (m7wlv) is a global phone, not GSM/CDMA. Only service you will get with ATT or any other US GSM carrier is edge speeds. Our HSPA radio only supports international carriers and our 4G radio only supports 700mhz band 13, not the AWS every other carrier uses.

It says that it is the HTC One M7UL
Then it isn't a Verizon HTC one. Go to the other section in this forum for international variants. In bootloader, it would say m7wlv if it was a Verizon HTC one.

It says Verizon on the back of the phone and is running Verizon firmware though
Then it shouldn't say m7_ul a Verizon branded m7 is m7wlv. Whoever you bought it from probably flashed the UL firmware which will cause all sorts of issues for you if it truly is a Verizon m7

Is there anyway I could fix this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2485319 flash that firmware and radio. Instructions are in the thread. Also, if your cid says anything except vzw__001 (two underscores) then issue the following commands while in Fastboot.
fastboot oem writecid VZW__001
Caps matter when making your cid

I'm on T-mobile and not sure which one to get. I'm all about rooting it and flashing rom and don't really care about WiFi calling .
Thanks.

WiFi calling and texting from air plan would be the only different. But, you don't care for those.

If your on T-mobile buy T-mobile .. the Dev edition is not the exact same phone, their are LTE radio differences

The cost is the same and it is easy to unlock the T-Mobile version, so I would buy that to ensure you have support for all TMO bands.
Thanks guys. I'm gonna pick up the t-mobile then. Have the s6 now, lovely phone but I'm a flash addict lol

I'm pretty sure I saw it on here recently as I just received the Dev edition. Remember, Google search is your friend.

Lol, why would i google it ? I have a Developer edition on AT&T
If your on T-mobile buy a T-mobile phone like I said at the beginning
T-Mobile phone will likely contain band 12 which is a big deal for the refarmed area as it's in the 700mhz spectrum. More indoor penetration for better reception. I would get a T-Mobile variant > Sunshine > Flash Dev edition if you really don't care too much about Wifi Calling. Unless I'm mistaken and the Dev unit contains band 12. But usually the Dev edition caters more to AT&T than T-Mobile
Here is listing of developer and unlocked bands.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
I just went through this and sent my dev edition back for the T-Mobile variant for 1 reason... Tmobiles HSPA+ allows download speeds of 42mbps.. On the Dev edition you will get HSPA+ but it's capped at 14mbps... So while the LTE bands may be supported it doesn't support T-Mobile's network fully
I guess the ATT Dev Edition is also different and probably doesn't support the T-Mo bands fully as well? Or are they similar?

Their is only one Developer Edition and one Unlocked edition - they are both identical to the AT&T version hardware wise
Ok but the HTC direct Dev Edition is different from both ATT and TMO edition when it comes to bands?

If your on either ATT or T-Mobile there is no reason really to get a Dev edition... Since it's so easy to root these things there no point imo

Understood but there seems to be nuances and different answers in the bands and hspa.

No the Developer Edition is identical to the AT&T phone except it unlocked and bloatware free (as well as different firmware numbers / CID)

But what about this? It appears there is a difference.

Sent from my HTC One M9 using XDA Free mobile app
So, from what I gathered, based on just searching HTC and T-mo's sites, these are the bandwidths supported for each device in question:
HTC One M9 Unlocked & Developer Edition Band Support
2 (1,900 MHz)
3 (1,800 MHz)
4 (1,700 MHz AWS)
5 (850 MHz)
7 (2,600 MHz)
12 (700 MHz lower A/B/C)
13 (700 MHz upper C)
17 (700 MHz lower B/C)
29 (700 MHz D/E)
30 (2,300 MHz WCS)
T-Mobile Band (frequency):
Quad Band GSM; LTE: 2, 3, 4, 7, 12, 17
UMTS: Band I (2100), Band II (1900), Band IV (1700/2100), Band V (850)
Maybe someone a bit more savvy in this department can interpret this information into layman's terms? The HTC band frequencies seem easy enough, though I don't understand the letters at the end of specific frequencies. But interpreting the T-Mobile frequencies, at least in the UMTS section, is proving difficult in order to make an educated decision as to whether the developer edition is compatible. Personally, I don't care about WiFi calling and VoiLTE that comes with a T-Mobile branded device. I'm currently using an unlocked Att M7 on T-Mo network. But I do notice that the radio is different as far is signal, without hitting the forums for info. What I do care about is not having bloatware and having a fully unlocked device, so should I want to flash a WiFi calling tweak, if there is a stable one, I can do it with a little more ease. And no, I don't wish to use special apps to remove bloatware on a T-Mo version. I asked my husband since he did electrical engineering for the Navy to interpret but his exact words were " I do not understand civilian radio frequencies". So, a better understanding would be most appreciative. Thank you.
Edit: So far, I was able to find out from a friend that Dev Ed. wouldn't do well with 3G due to the lack of the combination of 1700/2100 frequencies. I can't see that as being too terribly important, but I figured I'd throw that in.
