Hi all
I got a notification of the latest software upgrade available for my device. I downloaded it and installed it. The installation process was shown to have reached 100% and then the phone screen went black and then did not turn back up. When I connect the phone to charger, I do not see any battery charging icon
I had my phone connected to the power outlet while I was upgrading? Is my phone bricked? Any way I can resolve this issue? My phone is out of warranty.
I have never ever rooted the phone. Not sure why would this happen with an official software upgrade.
Any help will be immensely appreciated
Are u able to enter recovery mode!

After successful flash the phone will reboot automatically and will stay on bootloop, while rebooting press and hols home+vol.up+power button. Then factory reset, wipe dalvik, wipe cache. Then reboot system..
Why not PDA? When i flashed stock rom i choose PDA and choose the file.
Auto reboot and f.reset time are the only checked boxes

Hi, I tried to flash 20b through twrp tonight.
I did factory reset, then flashed the bootstack, then flashed the system. But after that, my phone won't power on. I tried to remove the battery, holding power button for a long time, or power+volumn down.
The phone just does not respond at all. Can anybody help? Thanks!

take the battery out and put it back in and try to power it on. Repeat a few times, if that doesn't help we'll try other things.

when I had that problem I figured out that it was the battery that was making the phone act weird. Since LG sent me another battery when they had the promotion I used the other spare and that fixed it for me.
This happens right after I flashed the new system, I doubt it is the batter problem. If I plugged into the computer it still won't power on.
(If I remove the battery and plug into computer, the screen of the phone does show some symbol, probably regarding missing memory).
Let me try to see if I use kdz flash to reinstall the system. Thanks for the help.

This is why You don't flash the boot chain unless you absolutely must. I was running 20B with the old boot chain (other than rpm, that was updated) and it ran just fine. If you get a bad flash on the boot chain your sol.
sooo, I gues something went wrong... since the new marshmallow images was posted today, there was a thread on reddit on how I can just download the image and rename it and flash it as OTA. The phone reconginzed the image and went half way through the install and then went black. now it wont even buzz or register the charger. Does nothing when connected to the computer either so I assume there is nothing that could be done. Quite a shame, the phone worked quite nicely until is killed it . Anything I can do?

There is one thing I recommend trying as there is a bug in official firmware where the phone when connected to a computer can turn off randomly and not charge or boot. What you need to do is disassemble the phone and unplug the connector at the top of the phone to disconnect the battery and then plug it in.

thanks, I'm aware of that. Some folks experiencing the same issue tried that with no success. My phone is still under warranty and the screw securing the backplate has a seal on it that I dont want to tamper with.
I guess I'll be sending the phone for to Asus for repair...
Don't lose hope.
My phone was in a similar predicament.
No response to any buttons, nothing on screen, no buzzing or LED's at all.
I was able to get it recognized in the xFSTK Downloader and showing up in windows device manager as a Moorefield device.
I tried many times to get it to put the images on the phone through the xFSTK tool and it failed many times.
I was about to give up and tried again this morning and miraculously the writing succeeded and now my phone is in a bootloop (I think the battery may have been completely drained with my attempts to save it's life.)
I have it on charge currently so hopefully when there is enough juice I should be able to flash the raw file and be back up and running.
I see, you can follow the unbricking tutorial in the general section. Works fine for me and saved me from sending it to the service center.

Unfortunately, yes. Because I ticked the "wipe data" checkbox in the ASUS Flash Tool. Not sure what will happen if I don't. :fingers-crossed:

I also bricked my phone and used the method to fix my phone. Make sure you have all the required drivers installed in your pc/laptop before doing this. I took help of DriverMax to solve the drivers related issues. Make sure before installing and running the XFTSK tool all the drivers and everything is installed otherwise you will see blank forms in the Tool.

I was in the middle of unbrick my g3 from hard brick to soft brick. I flash firmware using lg up at 99% then the phone died as it tried to reboot. It won't boot at all. As you said when remove the battery and connect charger, i can see my motherboard working with exclamation mark. As soon as i put the battery, motherboard out and no sign of life. Is this sign of bad battery or what. I don't have spared battery

Hi!
I recently unlocked my bootloader and installed LineageOS on my LG G7, successfully.
I wanted to go back to stock, and I followed this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/how-to/guide-how-to-flash-stock-firmware-lock-t3820888
After flashing with LGUP, the phone booted to stock firmware with no problems, so I executed:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem lock
At this point, the phone rebooted and it was bricked, since now it shows:
"Your device has failed a routine safety check and will not boot."
I found this thread of a guy with the same problem:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/help/how-recover-phone-red-warning-boot-t3931975
Someone at the end of the thread claims to have solved it:
I successfully recovered from this by getting the v35 engeneering bootloader flashed dump someones frp partition with oem unlock toggled flash it to my phone with fastboot reboot to bootloader, do fastboot flashing unlock, use lgup to refurbish and you're unlocked and good to go again
Click to collapse
One of the problems is indeed that I cannot unlock the bootloader again because I can't boot and check oem unlock in developer options (fastboot gives an explicit error).
The point is: could anyone describe this procedure a little better and tell me how to get this dump with oem unlock toggled and how to flash it with fastboot?
Other guys already asked on that thread, but he didn't answer...
Thank you in advance!
i have a problem after crossflash my g710pm and i have no 3g or 4g internet enabled, i change the apn and i reset all and flashed a different firmware and no lucky.

@Emmeggi95 I can help! Send me a P.M.
I did the same thing a few weeks ago. I had a guy on here fix it for me with his octoplus, and then i ended up buying an octoplus medusa pro for myself for any future mistakes i make hahaha
The only way to fix this is with the octoplus jtag and unlocking the bootloader again through 9008 mode.
^^^sirbow2 is right. On my phone, I had only locked bootloader fastboot available, (It would boot to download mode for about half a second, then revert to the useless fastboot) and would not boot to system. I had to disassemble it (use heat gun and warm up back cover then carefully pull it off). Then remove the wireless charging coil. Then disconnect battery connector from the mainboard Then with tweezers touch the two test points and plug usb cable in while holding the tweezers to the test points, this caused the 9008 mode driver to install into the ports section of device manager. At that point, I was able to install the ULM11G ROM and go through the steps in loonycbg2's tutorial to bootloader unlock again. I installed the KDZ with octoplus pro, battery still disconnected, in emergency dl mode.
Hopefully, you wont have to go through all that, that's the most work anyone would have to do to unbrick one of these.

You dont have to disassemble the phone to get into 9008 mode. Hold power and vol down while quickly mashing vol up until you hear the device connect or see it in device manager. The screen stays black so, if you see the logo, you missed it.

Firehose is a qualcomm file thats usually signed by the brand(oem).
Yes most of the time it either leaks or someone privately buys it from a dev of the oem for a good amount of money.

ooohf, sorry. Yeah it is a pain. The time frame has to be a very small fraction of a second right after it shuts off and just starts to boot. Im probably hitting 4 or 5 presses a second could definitely be model dependent as well.
