well yeah i decided at 12:30am when i got home in new jersey here that i wanted to unlock my phone...which poses a huge problem for me because i have no idea what im doing...the only thing iv ever done was update my rom...so to make a really long story short this forum just helped me fully unlock my at&t tilt and upgrade my radio rom and everything..the whole kittin kabootle when i came from not even knowing what a hardspl or w/e was and not knowing how to flash and what cooked meant...this forum rocks and i hope anyone who needs help will be brought here!

Noob needs of help xD

Hello Everyone,
I'm very new to android phones. got my first one ( galaxy s i9000). loving it so far. i love tech and i wanna customize and play around with my phone as much as i can. i was gonna buy an iphone but some ppl told me i shud get android since i like customization. what i want to know is the detail about everything that ppl say around here . i dont understand it at all lol. what is a ROM and kernal and blah blah .. i hope u get what im saying .. it wud be great to get answers or if someone can direct me to a thread with a similar topic..

a ROM is the software on your phone.
a kernel is the linux kernel (google "linux kernel") that underpins it.
If you want to customise, definitely get Android
Take a look in the forum for your device, and read at the stickies

Hi people,
im quite a noob when it comes to XPERIAs... im from the SGM thread and i got a new phone here named Acro S (LT26w) and i hope someone can answer these questions: (Links and Procedures are all well appreciated)
1. how to unlock bootloader of this thing.
2. How to root this phone.
3. How to enter the Lock code of the boot loader.
4. How to enter recovery mode after flashing a kernel with CWM.
Thank you in advance people. im sorry im really new when it comes to XPERIAs, and i am from the Galaxy mini thread who somehow developed Beats audio for our phone. thank you so much guys in advance.

is this the way you guys will answer the questions. this doesnt happen to other threads even the STUPIDEST question delivered by someone... the best treatment i ever had in a thread...
1. Developing / updates for BEATS AUDIO on our thread
2. Unbricking/Resurrecting SGSII
3. ROOTING LT26W
4.ROOTING Desire C.
5. Downloading files for PC upgrades
6. Repairing Dead UNITS/PHONES
7. Searching thread would take a long time
8. Not all threads are useful and sometimes got wrong instruction.
9. Have read the thread of DOOMLORD before ever checking and posting this. just to make sure i am not gonna mess it up like the Samsung Vibrant and HTC G1 i handled before,.
10. I want some of you to know that im really not familiar/a NOOB to XPERIA units/phones since i highly prefer to use SAMSUNG PHONES. i am taking precautions, cause it is better to be safe than sorry.
I asked the stupidest question in SGS and T-Vibrant and it was answered by one of the senior member with full instructions and tips....

There are already guides available for items 1 - 3.
Item 4 is not necessary since you got a whole forum devoted to Android development. Besides the point is not to tell people which ROM is the best, let them try it out for themselves since each ROM has its pros and cons. It's up to the end user to determine the ROM - kernel combination that works best for him/her.

Sorry, this is everyone's opinion on Best ROM.

There are plenty of guides out there that give the health warnings before people mess with their phones.
If you want to be popular and be a great help, answer people's questions at Q&A rather than set up a redundant Q&A thread posting guides that are already available.
If you really want to make "The Best ROM", sitting here and telling the whole world you will do it is not going to help.
Rather, you should just start on your work and let people see the results.

I have used CM10.2 newly realeased all was cool But I hate one is camera and that blue prints comes after every capture
