[Q] CM 11 can't hang up and use keypad while dialing - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I call someone the screen goes black and just can't get the dialer back up unless I press the menu/home button, drag down the notice ribbon and click on the call. And even then I can't use the bloody thing since it doesn't respond. So I can't hang up or bring up the keypad.

Help someone!

Touch screen unresponsive

Interesting bug I've run into over the past few days: Whenever my phone screen turns on because of an incoming call, text message, etc. (aka, turns itself on, not me pushing the power button), the screen does not respond at all to touch input for the screen, or the home, menu, back, and search buttons. The only way to get it to start acknowledging input is to push the power button and cycle the screen off and on. Of course the downside to this is that it will reject the incoming call and send it straight to voicemail.
Does anyone else have this problem, or know of a solution? I don't have any apps actively running when this happens as I use ATK fairly aggressively. ROM and kernel details are in my signature.

I have the same problem on occasion.

Can I cancel the button on calling that shuts mic?

Hi
Alot of time happens to me on calling is that when I pick or after dial, I guess I hold the phone a lil bit away from the ear, and the sensor that suppose to shut the screen down, not responding and then with my cheen I press the mute mic button and I cant be heard.. :/
It caused me to get hanged up and recall for so many times.. its so annoying..
Is there a way to remove this button?
Any way I never used it my whole life.. and if I do need that function I probbably would block the mic with my hand like old times...
Does anybody got a sollution for that?

hold phone closer lol. or try a different dialer. full screen caller id may work for you.

oh come on that's not an actual tip to hold it closer (and if already then I should hold it farther for not pressing),
There must be a way to cancel that button or remove it for good..
and that "full screen caller" is very uncomfortable, perhaps something more friendly.

There is you can decompike the apks needed and edit the smali files and the xmls, then recompile and test. It will not be easy to say the least. Good luck
Minimise the full screen dailer right after you take or make a call.

Or just press the home key. You can always get back to the call by pulling down the status bar, and pressing on the call option.
after calling just lock the phone by pressing power key... all disabled

Pattern lock screen sometimes not centered?

Sometimes when I use the power button to unlock the screen saver, the pattern lock screen is off center. It's so far off center I can't enter the pattern to unlock the phone. I have to press the power button twice to get a new pattern lock screen that is centered.
I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this with their phone. I've got Executive Assistant running under the lock screen.
happened to me a couple of time so I stopped using pattern unlock screen. Once it got to the point where it stuck there permanently until I rebooted the phone
Happened to me a lot after removing the phone from car dock mode. Usually had to reboot, hasn't happened at all since switching to CM10 nightlies.
happens to my wife and me many times. we just do what you said.
Im guessing its a known issue because it happens to me and a lot of people I know.

Happens to me too. The fix is simple though:
1) Press the Emergency Call button. It should still be in place
2) When you see the number pad, turn the phone to horizontal view so that the number pad moves.
3) Press "back", the lock pattern will be horizontal for a second and then it'll flip back to its correct place!
I also had this happen many times. I turned off the lock function.
Is this on stock?

[Q] How to multi-task while on a call

Is there anyway to switch to another app while on a call?
On Sony Xperia, one can press "home" key to switch to the home screen and start another app while continue to talk on the phone, but on Note 2 the call screen stay on no matter which key is press. Can anyone tell me if this is normal.

Maybe a other dialer helps? I've not tested it on standard. Go Contacts EX (dialer and contacts). I can dial and press home there.

No, what I meant is when you are already in a call. How to you get to check emails, SMS message or even play games at the same time when you are speaking to someone. I can not switch out of the contact's screen as it simply locks up the screen no matter which key is pressed. http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/frown.gif
I am using the Note 2 LTE
I just tested my phone..while on call..I pressed the home button..my dialer went away and my home page appeared. I am using stock rooted rom with go launcher.

What I mean is that during a call I can just press home, then open what ever I like. It works with Go Contacts anyway. I just tried it. Opened up Gmail without issues. See the green area in the top?

[Q] Calls get put on hold

Does anyone have this problem with their ZL?
I have discovered I'm talking to myself often and when I look at the phone, it turns out the call was put on hold. it's not easy to do, you have to hit the menu button on the top right corner of the call screen, and then hit hold. I must be doing this with my cheek.

Yeh mine too... So irritating. Mine ended most calls frequently. The screen wakes up most of the time while talking.
