Hello all
I have a strange problem with my Xperia T2 Ultra dual sim - I'm used to arranging all the apps in folders and categorise them. I have been doing this with all my android phones - Samsung Galaxy S2, then Note 2 but now with my Xperia T2 Ultra all the apps keep jumping out of the folders
It happened once, I moved the apps back into the folders, twice, did it again...but its happening randomly...please help!!:
Does it happen after a restart?

try to move it to internal storage at setting> apps
I always got that problem to after moving apps data to external
even though it's not really an external after 4.4.2 update
seems ridiculous to me.
give it a try and tell me how it works.
there's quite much problem at T2 Ultra and posting at support forum doesn't seem to get replied by the sony moderator

Thanks for the responses. It happens after a restart and sometimes when the android system crashes and I have to force restart.
I cannot move the apps to internal storage as its only 8GB out of which only 4GB is available and my apps are large in number - around 100 plus

Sorry just checked the forum
yeah., I'm not sure to., I got small apps which is fine in the folder just recently downloaded CYTUS and it turns out just like what you said., keep jumping out of folder after restart.
maybe it's OS related., not really sure about it now especially cause the SD detected in apps is still internal not SD Card after Kitkat update.
maybe some others can help explaining this
will try asking this around at SONY forum

Heyy guys
Has anyone noticed that if you arrange the icons on the arc when the phone is restarted the icons all move around...
Is this just me or has it happened to others?
Thanks,
Jinx13
I got same issue, upon every restart the phone shuffles the icons adding new windows and places 2 or 3 icons on window or so...
What I've noticed is that this only applies to apps stored on the SD card, anything stored on the phone memory will stay in place.

Yeah...
Is it possible to be the low-class SD doing this? The standard default SD Card included in Arc's box is Class 2 I believe.
Could higher class SD card fix this? Can someone with Class 4-6-8-10 share impression please?
It is strange tough, I'm using the SD card provided with the Arc and dont have any problems.
I read some people did have problems with the launcher but that was fixed in SEs latest android version, are you guys on the latest version ?
more people are having this problem :

Regardless the complainings about the Arc I would definitely say that is a faulty phone. I have mine for 2 mounts now and the only problem i experience is when i reboot the phone occasionally it shuffles the icons...no lag, no delay. It's a truly worthy phone.

Same problem..Sandisk class4..latest firmware
Glad to hear it's not just me lol I also have the latest version 2.3.3
I didn't actually notice that it was only the apps on the SD card that moved till it was mentioned
Using 2.3.3 here as well.
Hope this will be fixed in upcoming updates, cause its annoying...not that i restart my phone often, but nevertheless when you do you need to spend some time to re-arrange all the icons back again or just scrolling arround till you find that you need.
Depends on how many craps you have installed on you phone lol.
Brah.
Have same issue with icons.
2.3.3 did not help at all.
I have had HTC Desire for 2 years now and I am planning to buy this phone in couple of weeks. I have few questions if someone could answer them for me.
1. How is the loud speaker feature? Is it better than the Desire?
2. Out of 32GB memory, how much is available after all the preloaded system apps?
3. Since there is no SD slot, how an individual would transfer the data from PC to the phone? can an individual use a USB cable and place them in designated folder of the phone?

1. (My last phone was a Desire) The speaker is A LOT better, it sounds even better then the speakers in my laptop.
2. 25GB left. (+ You get 25 GB free with Dropbox, which you can use for your documents, photos, video)
3. Through Dropbox is the easiest way, you get 25 GB free storage which makes transfering files very easy to do. (And if 25 isn't enouf you can always buy more/also use Box which offers another free 50 GB.) USB transfer also works, but believe me once you get used to Dropbox you don't want anything els. When I take a picture on my phone it is a few seconds later already on my Dropbox account available for all my other devices.
Thanks.

I saw in a review that only 2GB is available for installing apps. Is this going to be a problem? The only thing I really disliked about my Desire was the dramatically limited space for apps and I don't really want to fall into that again.

I should have said that indeed, there is 2GB dedicated for installing apps but you can move pretty much any app to the "SD CARD" which has 25 GB of storage. My apologies for the confusing answer the first time.
PS : Keep in mind that within the 6 months pretty much all apps will be optimised for "Move to SD-Card".
PS2: Since all the storage is located on one physical storage unit (as far as I know?) I think devs might be able to make the 2GB partition a 10 (or any number) GB partition. But you better ask this to a real developper.

Call me paranoid but after the Desire I am a bit wary of moving apps to sd being some magical fix. It didn't seem to help me that much when I was HTC stock (pre root and roming). I thought the point of Android switching to MTP was to make all the space available for apps.

Yeah I had that same problem with the Desire, some apps didn't work after moving them to SD. But I think app-devs will start optimizing this, apps become larger and pretty much every phone has very limited memory (without the SD-Card).
+ I'm pretty sure Devs can make the 2GB partition larger, if you root the device and use a costum rom that is.
Hi again everyone, I want to thank all of you great and talented people who have helped me and made suggestions as to make my Note 2 a much better device. I have a problem and I need some help. I have the Note 2 on T-Mobile, and I rooted it,
How do swap my internal memory to become external memory and vice versa.? I have a T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 (USA version) I live in the New York City area.
I have about 1.36 GB left of device memory. When I download a game, or a large app, it automatically goes my device memory. Problem #1: Is there any way I can tell my Note 2, or set up my Note 2 so that whenever I download a game or an app, to go automatically instead to my micro external SD 64 GB card (I have the Sandisk Class 10 card). So I have two problems one is transfer some of my 8.97 GB presently on the card, and in the future make every app or game I get to automatically to San Disk Card. when I go "My Files" on my Note 2, it lists two storage areas: the Sdcard0 and extSdCard. Also, when I plug in my Note on my computer it only shows the following: Card: 36.9 GB free of 59.4 and phone 1.25 GB free of 10.8 GB. Can anyone please help, please thanks? Thanks.

Your internal memory has a read / write speed of 25/30 mbps..... much faster than your external ( class 10 is 10-15 ish ). Why would you want to swap? Apps running from internal memory will load much much faster.
What I would do is move all of your music / camera photos / movies / etc to your external. Then change the default camera location to external, along with your browsers download folder location. Thats what I do. I have hundreds of apps installed and still have over 6gb free internal space.
Also, swapping it means you cant unmount it ever..... or swap cards around while the system is using it. You will get FC out the wazoo from apps running in the background looking for the card.
For large 1gb plus apps, there is an apps to sd program you can use. Fixes all those nasty storage issues.

Actually, I've been running like this since the first month on a "ultra 1" class sd and it performs beautifully without ANY FCs and I haven't been able to see any performance differences. That way I don't have to do any of the dancing around the storage issues that are suggested above and elsewhere.
The phoney has gotten slow and sometimes slow responses or it acts bugged for example:
I click a picture from the menu and it won't open up, but instead it will act like if I have held my finger on it and then have option to share or delete and it wouldn't allow me to open it. Other times when I open up a picture it won't let me move it around. It get strange behaviors, or sometimes when I am texting it will have lag or slowdown while typing, example:
I'm typing a message and it slows down while i keep typing and nothing is shown written on the screen and then it lags out and it instantly types everything like leaving behind a little time of lag to catch up and trust me it get's annoying, it interrupts the conversation and sometimes you end up sending incomplete lines or mixed words and such. When it happens my only option is to reboot the phone. It get's to my nerves.
I believe this is because the internal memory is always full.
I Bought a while ago a 32Gig microsd because I thought I could store and install the apps on the sdcard so it leaves the internal space of my phone alone. I tried downloading a few apps to move some apps to my microsd card but no success. The app I got is called "AppMgr lll" but I never got it working right because I never get the option to "Move to SD Card".
I'm also using the rom: AOKP 4.2.2 and I believe it was almost a year ago when I installed it. I haven't touched my phone ever since.
All I want is, release internal memory and be able to use my sdcard for what I intended to use it for, which are the apps.
Thank you and have a nice day.
That's pretty old for a ROM. I'd suggest either updating it, or install a new ROM.

Yes of course.
I will need some help since it's been so Long. Step by step guide for idiots if possible jaja
What about the applications?
How can I install them automatically to the external card not the internal memory?

It's kind of like riding a bike, u never really forget. You're already rooted and running a custom ROM, search around and find one that u like. I would recommend S3Rx 2.1, but that's just me, I prefer tw ROMs over aosp. And as far as apps to SD, there are apps in the market to help with that, but keep in mind, not all apps will function properly when moved to SD... Good luck!!

Hello all,
Since the introduction of 4.1/4.2 on xperia phones it seems impossible to install apps on the SD card, even with root. I mean 16GB is quite the amount but high end games these days are large (some games like beards tale are >3GB). So yes 16GB of storage is easily filled even when you can get all your movies and music/pictures on an external SD card.
I have searched and searched but it seems impossible to install apps on your SD card with Sony phones, did not manage to get it working on my Z1 and seems just as impossible on my Z1C. Any one any ideas on this? This really seems a limitation of Sony phones.
Also see, where they got a 'working' solution which did not work for me:
