I purchased an "LG G3 D855 LTE 32GB Black Quadcore Android GSM unlocked phone from "AT GSM Inc."
After getting daily Update download that failed to install because the phone was rooted I used LG PC Suite to get the compatible update. The update installed was "V10h-HKG-XX" After the update the phone was no longer "rooted." additionally my 32GB MicroSD is not recognized. Otherwise the phone works fine.
I have been unable to root with "PurpleDrake" and also unable to root with "Stump Root" Has anyone reversed to update or found a way to "Root" after "V10h-10h-HKG-X"?
Requested assistance from LG, Answer was; "International or rooted phones are not supported.

Hi! Its been awhile since i rooted my last android phone (Original Droid). So i forgot how to do everything and it seems like so much has changed.
I currently have Verizon LG G3 and i am planning on giving this phone to my mom who lives in S. Korea and use it under SK telecom (CDMA). But they use Band 5 as their LTE. And from what i know the only way i can make the G3 to use band 5 is through rooting the phone and going under commands.
So my question is, If I root my phone through stump or any other method, would she be able to receive ota updates and apply the updates without the phone going through boot loop?
Or would I be able to root install most stable custom rom that blocks the ota updates but pushes the update for the rom.
Thank you =]
Just dont install TWRP and you wont have bootloop after OTA. Root will be removed
And you need to plug in a Verizon Sim Card for OTA to show up unless you can find a captured OTA package and manually update it yourself using adb
would this phone only be able to get ota through Verizon? Im thinking if the phone is registered under Sk Telecom then it should receive Ota that is being pushed by them. And what is the best method that doesnt install TWRP?
Thank you for the reply.

Yes it only gets OTA through Verizon Sim. If you plug in a SK Telecom sim you will never get the verizon OTA
Root using the rooting tools such as ioroot, stumproot, towelroot, purpledrake
Okay thanks for the clarification
Have an unrooted LG test Phone with VS98509j software cannot update to current 524b version verizon upgrade assistant does not recognize phone any suggestions
I have read that AT&T has released Android M 6.0 for the AT&T G Pad F 8.0 V495 however when I try and update it says I have the latest version. The LG software tool also states the same thing.
I don't not have an active SIM card, but I have tried with a deactivated sim and also no sim with the same results. This update was released 4/26/16 it looks like.

I don't know if it's the same with AT&T, but with Verizon devices, they won't receive OTAs unless you have an activated Verizon SIM card in the device. It can take time for the PC software to show the latest update - could be weeks if at all.
I was trying the same thing today on mine and getting the same thing, I remove the Activated SIM from my iPad and installed on my LG G Pad F 8.0 (V495) then I move the date because it check for update every 24H. After all that it found a New Upgrade and download, but my problem is that I am ROOTED and the OTA upgrade wont work on rooted devices.
Ahah, thanks guys. I moved my iPad Mini 4 Sim over with an adapter and was able to update it after it had an active LTE connection.
I got a G8 from eBay and I'm stuck on on Android 9 October 1, 2019.
The model says sprint in settings but the IMEI tells me it's Amazon unlocked (even do i have the google asistan button )
Lg bridge only detects the phone in download mode but it fails once the update starts
tried flashing the amazon g8 kdz manually Got this
I saw a way to update the sprint models on Xda but I'm not sure because of the IMEI,
it also has Amazon apps pre installed and some sprint apps
Any help
