There is no RUU for 1.54.401.10 available as at today.
What you need is a stock backup.
here is my TWRP backup for 1.54.401.10
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54564526&postcount=1471
Stock Recovery : http://sourceforge.net/projects/htconem8/files/Recovery/1.54.401.10_recovery.img/download
I guess you know how to do backup and restore with TWRP. If you don't have one, you can get the one that I'm using in the link in my sig.
Basic thing to do is :
1. extract the backup on your PC
2. transfer the backup folder to your sdcard or external_sd depending where your TWRP backup folder is.
3. boot to recovery and restore the backup
After backup successful, you'll be notify of an OTA update. Before you can do the update, you need :
1. reboot to bootloader
2. flash the stock recovery that I linked above
3. reboot
4. do the OTA

Hi, it's ok if you ask questions. But please do it in just one thread. You asked the same in the other thread you opened up: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/firewater-yes-t2854278
it won't be answered any faster doing this.

[Q] Firewater S-OFF Question

Hey there
I followed the instructions to the word but unfortunately I couldn't get it to work in the end.
It eventually told me [Remember the golden rule, NEVER TAKE an OTA? OF course you don't. ***device patched by HTC, you are out of lock****]
Does that mean I can NEVER get S-OFF or does it mean I can use a RUU and restore everything to when I just bought it the phone and then try again?
Thanks.
Well if you failed and then the error told you that whatever you do you can't get s-off that way then you have to pay $25 and use the sunshine method. U just went through this last night.

I had the same error because (as it is said) i took an ota. The error means that there is no more exploit for it to work properly. So the only way left is Sunshine for 25$. But there you have only to pay when it works for 100%.
Check out this thread. Of course it worked with hong kong version .708. and nobody confirmed if it works with other versions.

I was able to use firewater in the end by getting a Nandroid Backup performed by another user who backed up the system, data, recovery and everything using Philz Touch Recovery.

I got the Nandroid from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376
I assuming this one will work for you:

You'd need to restore it using TWRP (it will restore system, data, and recovery).

I looked at the thread and found the steps to be quite unnecessary. All you need to do is use TWRP in order to restore system, data, recovery, and boot (you'll see all those under Advanced Options before restoring) and then you'd follow Firewater's guide (posted on his website) in order to go S-OFF. It was fool-proof and quite quick after I restored the stock Nandroid.

Hey it's ok! No, you downloaded a Nandroid ZIP file which you're supposed to extract into the proper location of TWRP backups, which is either SD Card > TWRP > Backups or Root/data/media/TWRP/backups. When you open the Nandroid ZIP, you'll find a folder inside, which is what is supposed to be copied to the proper TWRP directory. After you're done with that, you go to TWRP > Restore and you'll supposedly find it listed and then you tap on it, choose Advanced Options, check YES on everything, and then perform the Restore function.
By the way, I just reread Firewater's instructions and it says that you have to root the stock ROM if it's not rooted and also have an unlocked bootloader (so don't relock it). The instructions are here: http://firewater-soff.com/instructions/

[Q] Stock Recovery needed for M8 CID T-MOB003

Hi,
I have been reading a lot of posts to find the stock recovery version for my HTC One M8. My CID is T-MOB003 and I have the stock ROM (Software nr. x.xx.114.x)still running but I can't find my stock recovery - must have misplaced it after the back-up - so I can do the update to Android 5.0. I have already looked here for it but no solution.
Is there anyone who can help me with a stock recovery for my device?
Greetings,
JHS

when you get prompted for the ota you download it but NOT install it. take the ota.zip from the internal memory and take out the firmware.zip, in that zip is the recovery.img.
flash that recovery.img and then perform the ota.....done :good:

Damn that was the help I needed!! Really great gonna try this when I get home!
After searching for months myself, I came to the conclusion that nobody has ever made a backup of their original recovery. (the T-MOB003 that is)
Since I had the same problem, and I know it sounds like bull**** but you need to get s-off to get firmware updates since you do not have the original recovery anymore.
The only way of fixing this that I know is theroot.ninja (SunShine S-Off Tool)
Yes it does costs some money, but you'll be happy with it for years.
It changes your CID to 111111 so you can flash whatever firmware you want and then you should be good to go!

No need at all for all of that. The method described above to get the stock recovery works flawlessly, if of course the system is 100% stock too !
And as additional info :
My experience on the one x was that all recoveries starting with the same base number are the same

Recovery is not a problem .. simply extract out from OTA zip before proceed with OTA installation.
Nandroid backup is a problem especially the lower version 1.57.114.2 for hboot 3.16.00000 and 2.23.114.3 for hboot 3.18.0000 - many users are stuck at these two versions because no one willing to share them.

Is there a way round this as I am s-off, surely If I find the right bits I can get to a stock state for a warranty repair? I'm getting nervous I wont be able to restore back to a factory state before the courier comes on thursday

So can I just run through and confirm with you:
Change CID back to VODAP001.
flash the nandroid backup in restore in twrp
flash the firmware in fastboot ruu...
Then look up on forum to change back to 'Locked'
Is this it have I missed any steps? I will give a go tonight and let you know, otherwise Im going to have to try and cancel this htc warrants fix as they will probably refuse and charge me!
I do have a friend sat next to me at work, who has an unrooted stock Vodafone m8, is there anyway he can create a RUU for me to apply to my phone?! - just another option I was thinking....
RUU - no. Backup - yes

no he doesn't need a root - if he will root then the backup will not be worth much
you can put device in fastboot - start TWRP - WITHOUT flashing - and do NANDROID backup then
it would make untouched Nandroid backup

how do you get into twrp i thought you need to be root to change recovery?
If the bootloader is unlocked you can just boot into TWRP by using fastboot boot recovery.img as opposed to fastboot flash recovery recovery.img. This wa it'll just temporarily load TWRP and allow you to back the phone up

Before I give a proper guide for newbie ... please post your fastboot getvar all result (minus serial no. & imei no.)
I need to make sure my guide is correct for your device version.
Also tell me why you need to relock bootloader ? If it is to update to the latest, no need to relock bootloader

While ckpv5 is right about getting your phone details I can add that to see the backup in recovery the files need to be in a folder with your phone serial number as the title in 'Backups'. To find the correct name of the folder first make a backup of your current rom in recovery. This will create a folder with the correct title then you can copy in the files from the backup you want to restore.
After doing that you should be able to see the backup you want to restore.

exactly i dont want to risk it by flashing something else and bricking it
It wouldn't brick it. It just wouldn't apply an OTA update in future (it'd fail with an error message)
EDIT: Found it!

You rock !!!
@EddyOS Nice Find. @xdaaccount123
The way i create stock backups is by going into fastboot and booting into fastboot mode and booting into TWRP "fastboot boot" command,
Either TWRP or CWM will give me the option to backup the recovery. That or i flash SuperSU (which is only 1 binary and a system file), and use
Flashify to create a backup of the recovery. Glad you found your solution however.
I was gonna go down that route but thought it easier to just find the stock recovery so others now have a reference as well should they need it

Updating HTC 10

Hello everyone! Some time ago I rooted my phone + used custom Leedroid ROM. Unfortunately I forgot how did I do that and right now I am expiriencing some problems with my phone. I would love to update my phone. I am considering to change the ROM too. Right now my phone uses android 7.0 so i would like to update that. I have the TWRP recovery installed but probably outdated version.
Could anyone help me please to get through this without my phone getting messed up? I am little bit lost in these kernel, ROM and recovery words.

If you want to update your rom (to probably any OREO based rom) you need to update your firmware first otherwise you can't even run them at all.
So you need to go back to stock first and update, flash TWRP and flash the desired rom. Please boot to download mode and post here what's written there, then there is a big chance i can guide you to a updated firmware.
Make backups of stuff you want to keep in the cloud or on your laptop because the device will be wiped completely in the process.

2: copy it to your SDCARD
3: boot to download mode
4: it will prompt automatically to flash the file, confirm to do so
5: reboot the phone when done
6: go to settings and check for updates
7: install all the available updates
8: flash the latest twrp (download from xda, it's very easy to find it)
9: flash your desired oreo rom
Cheers

You should get on the ROM you want first.
Also, Kernel comes with the ROM
If you want a custom kernel, same as ROM, read the thread and details.
I also suggest reading as much as possible. Google your questions.. You'd be surprised how many ppl ask these same questions. :good:

Well it's all the same but you now need the RUU with the number that's at OS line in download mode. So boot to download mode, write down the OS number and search for the matching RUU.zip which will probably be 3.16.401
Cheers

Hello! Its me again. I hope I´ll get your attention this way.
Ive just bought an HTC 10 phone from Ebay because the old one had terrible battery and i will probably use it as a second phone. Everything worked fine until i tried to update the phone. The phone is now only restarting itself even after i performed factory reset/data wipe in the recovery mode.
In the download mode the phone says
*** LOCKED ***

Can anyone help me please? I would love to fix it by myself cause sending the phone back would be pain in the butt. Thanks alot for your help.

Find the 2.41.617 ruu.zip, rename it to 2PS6IMG.zip and copy it to the root of your SDCARD. Enter download mode and confirm to flash it. That's all.....
Ah look......there it is
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298944183
But to be fair, you already knew what to do. All the instructions are in this thread you just needed to change some OS numbers right ? It's no rocket science.....

Probably because you get a developers account on Android file host when you have a certain status on xda. I have one too
