[Q] Galaxy tab 3 warranty - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've pretty much used a S4 before this, recently got a free Tab 3.70 and it was so slow that i need to change the firmware and root it.
I'm wondering or it seems to be there is no Knox for the Galaxy Tab 3.7.0? (T210 variant). So it means my warranty won't be void right? But I've also read that the Triangle Away does not support the Tab 3, does this mean that if i root/load a custom rom and kernel, I won't be able to flash away the counter to get warranty still?
Finally, for S4, some important things to note were the CSC/PDA/Firmware of your device, but without a Phone dialer, how does one go about doing this and is it necessary to take these details down for the Tab in order to go back to its original state?

I have recently bought a Tab 3 8" and would also like to know will i be able to keep my warranty if i root it. I am currently at 4.2.2 and i'm not interested in flashing another ROM, just gaining root. Is there a completely reversable way to do this?

Same question for P5220 (Tab 3 10.1 Wifi+LTE)

Warranty will be void if your device is rooted, and yes there is a way you can get it back restored unrooted. Just go to your device size thread and find the right one. Hope this helps.

Rooted and regretted. How to revert back?

Hey guys
I rooted my phone and now I discovered this is such a great phone I don't really need root access to do anything.
How can I completely revert back to its original state? I'm on international note 2 gsm. Hourly with status back to normal instead of modified.

Yes you can... Download the samsung galaxy note 2 toolkit and select unroot option form it. You might need to flash the original rom too..
You can simply flash stock rom using odin.
You should use triangle away before returning to stock for warranty reasons.
thanks everyone for helping me out. really appreciate it

Question on rooting, Adfree, rom,and brick?

I'm going to get t-mobile Note 3 on Black friday. I got a few question to ask.
1. What is the easiest way to root note 3 without device? Any problem with Samsung knox issue? Are there anyway way to avoid/not to do for not brikcing, or stuck in boot loop something like that.
2. Is there Adfree app I can install after rooting? I'm coming from Nexus 4 rooted, I can't stand with advertisement everywhere I go.
3. What is the best rom like Note 3 TW with little more features?
4. If I just rooted with my note 3 and installed Adfree, can I get update from Samsung or I have to unrooted it first?

First you need odin to flash recovery http://www.theandroidsoul.com/get-c...r-samsung-galaxy-tab-pro-8-4-wi-fi-sm-t320-2/. Beware, it may void your warranty. Recovery you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2666232. Before flashing custom rom i highly recommend to backup your device.
So if I do put cm rom on my tab 8.4 it will void the Warranty?

There is no way to stop setting knox bit yet. So, if you flash anything, you set the knox bit and counter, so it "may" void your warranty. But in many cases users got repairs by warranty service, even if the device is rooted. My HTC ONE X also rooted has been repaired by warranty service for free. They told me, that my device was rooted, but the issue was hardware failure. You have to wait for new methods or just flash, but it can cause trouble of course, when the warranty service refuses to repair your device.

Possible way to root the Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 WITHOUT voiding warranty?

I've always rooted my Android devices. I just got in my Tab Pro 10.1 and want to root but afraid of loosing my warranty because of the Knox counter.
If I were to put my phone on Airplane mode BEFORE rooting, and then either freeze or remove the app with Titanium Backup after, would this leave my 1 year warranty active?
I'm not a guy who comes up with this stuff, just a guy who downloads it. If it were that simple though, GOD I hope someone would have done that a long time ago.

No, when the device is booted in a modified state(root in this case) and e-fuse is tripped which at this time cannot be prevented or reversed.

[Q] Thinking of buying a Galaxy Tab S,need some info.

Hello folks, the time has come for me to replace my Nexus 7(2012) and i'm thinking of getting a 8.4 inch Tab S.
.Since i'm used to Nexus' unlockable bootloader, and not having a Samsung device since Galaxy II,i'd like some info regarding rooting and generally tampering with this device
.Do you lose your warranty if you root this?Or is there any trick like "triangle away" was back in the S2 days..?
Furthermore,do you think this device is a good choice? In my country i find the 16GB variant around 280 Euros, and i can't seem to find anything remotely good for that price..
Lastly, how does the device perform with custom roms?I really hate Touchwiz UI.. :S
Thanks in advance for the help
The bootloader is unlocked on my Tab S 8.4 WiFi only model, not sure about the LTE version if you get it through a carrier like AT&T or Verizon.
As far as rooting goes, super easy with CF Auto Root. Thank You Chainfire. And yes, you will lose your warranty as rooting will trip the knox flag and there's no way of undoing it with Triangle away or any other method.
I haven't tried any custom ROMS yet, but I'm happy with the performance after I debloated it and I'm using Nova Launcher instead of Touchwiz.
Also just to let you know, most of the system files are Odex. Not sure if that matters to you.
That was all i needed to know, thanks for the reply !!
