I bought my galaxy s3 like four days ago and was going to factory reset and I accidentally hit the advanced wipe and deleted my entire operating system. I can't get my phone to go past the samsung galaxy s III screen. So I looked up how to fix it everywhere says to use odin but I'm having trouble getting my phone to connect to odin at all. I downloaded a rom from xda and saved it to my sd card so I knw how to do everything up to that step. When trying to flash the zip file it keeps telling me that it has failed idk what to do can someone walk me through this or tell me what I'm doing wrong here ?
What recovery are you using to flash it? Does it give any specific error?
What does odin do when you try to use it? Does it register the COM port in the top left? You are in download mode for this right? Correct drivers installed? If you have kies, uninstall it. Have you tried different usb ports and cables?
I had problems with twrp and switched to cwm.
Do you have an external SD card?

Yesterday while listening to google play music my Samsung Galaxy note 2 crashed.
Sidenote.....My T889 was rooted ....Had TWRP 2.6.3.1 using Jedi Master X2
After it crashed I tried to reboot my T889 it would not get past the "Samsung GALAXY Note II" boot/Splashscreen .....so I pulled battery and went into TWRP well thats when things got weird.... I got a screen asking for my password well I never set up a password nor did I ever play around in TWRP so i hit cancel and then it showed the standard tabs . I clicked on install but shows folder names but no files and directly under Select Zip to install it says Storage: Internal Storage (0 MB) I then went to my external SD to reinstall Jedi X2 but it would not show any thing on my external SD so I went back out and tried reboot into bootloader, that showed the standard screen vol up to continue, then the Downloading Do not turn off target!! I then went to Odin and tried redownloading TWRP in fact tried several different versions even the latest 2.8.1.0 but when Odin went to write it would start then FAIL . I then tried getting the ALL original firmware (T889 UVALJ1, T889UVALK8, T889UVALL4, T889UVBMB4, T889UVBMD1, T889UVUCMK7) same thing happened in Odin, it would start but then fail. Im now trying android studio but am kind of lost and feeling overwhelmed. If anyone can offer suggestions, thoughts or help it would be greatly appreciated.
Also while in TWRP I did try wipe , full wipe...yet nothing still.
Anyone?
Same thing happened to me, I restored back to stock. Try this, good luck.

Hello. Had your phone ever something bad? Like:
Exporsure to Extremely High / too low temperatures?
Exposure to Water or other Liquids?
Physical Damage?
Dropped?
Too Humid Air?
Bendgate?
Android 4.4.2 ?
Sit / Step on it?
Fake Device ?
One of those is the possible problem.
Hi, I'm trying to erase my old note ll to pass it along to a friend who's in need of an upgrade but have a problem, turn it on and it just forever stays stuck in the note 2. Have twrp 2.8.1.0 on it and when I tried to do a wipe of any kind or factory reset, I get fails of it being able to mount anything, tried doing a kies emergency firmware recovery and doesn't detect the phone, tried though Skipsoft unifide toolkit and same, cant get it to detect the phone to redo it. Tried though twrp with a rom but it can't see the 16gb card at all. Any help with possibly getting to work would be greatly appriciated, thanks!
So any updates if anyone might possibly know?
there are several solutions.
1.use odin to install a rom.
2.reinstall the recovery. i think there is something wrong with it.

Hard to use odin when it wont pick the phone up or windows wont pick it up so I can do anything to it via odin or twrp wont see a micro sd card so kinda screwed to do such sadly :/
I think i messed up in the internal memory somehow
if anyone can assist. The phone is stuck at the note II screen. I am able to flash via Odin and Kies, but as soon as i disconnect the phone an reboot it gets stuck. If i keep it connected to the pc, the phone boots no problem and as soon as i unplug it, same problem. When i try to reset in either cwm or twrp, i get the similar error and i am not able to format the internal drive. In odin i try the repartition option with the pit file and the latest image, but it gets stuck at the end and i let it running for at least 3 hours.
everything i found so far has been unsuccessfull
any ideas anyone ?

What bootloader is on the phone? What firmware? Are the odin packages correct for your model?

I317MVLUDNH2
and yes the package is correct
i even did the automatic install via kies
I never use kies too problematic. Only thing I can think of is a bad download of package.

and i downloaded samsung usb ddrivers and reseted my computer it didnt read my device in download mode but my computer read it in when it wasnt im out of ideas and i need help on how to fix my tablet
Hi everybody,
My friend brought his Galaxy Note 2 to me, and here is what I found:
Recovery mode came up with a bunch of mounting errors.
Apparently he tried to flash a custom ROM via Odin?
I thought that wasn't possible (I have used Odin a lot)?
So, again, Recovery (stock) brought up a bunch of mounting errors, but:
Download Mode still works (Good, right?!?!) :fingers-crossed:
Until I tried to use it. I tried to (Odin):
a) Flash .pit file for N7105 - it hangs on Get PIT for Mapping/Set Partition
b) Flash Original Repair ROM (N7105XXUEML3_OLBEML1_Repair_Firmware_4Files) -also hangs at same part)
By now, the original recovery (that was giving mounting errors) no longer works.
Device is now bootlooping with "Samsung Galaxy Note II N7105" stuck on the screen.
Download Mode *still* works, but nothing is flashing. At all. Custom Recoveries don't work either.
What to do?
Does my friend need a JTAG?
Is the emmc in trouble?
Or is it another problem?
I'm well versed on Odin, and know that these procedures don't take more than a few minutes.
A few seconds in the case of .pit files and recoveries.
What is going on?
I'm stumped. I think my buddy's phone is stuffed too.
Help please? Thank you XDA Ninjas.
Download the latest stock gt-n7105 firmware from here: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note-/GT-N7105/ and unzip it once to yield an md5 file.
Download Odin 3.07: https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1168421
Open Odin, place the md5 file in the PDA slot, do not check anythin except f reset time. Flash the phone using the OEM USB cable that came with the phone. When you see the word "reset" in the status window, remove the USB cable from the phone, remove the battery, replace the battery, use the button combination to boot into recovery, perform a factory wipe, and reboot.
