Hello.
I would like to have a clean oryginal htc rom without extras and be able to do update's in phone, but i want to have root access is this possible?
About the software:
ROM: Android revolution hd 10.2
Kernel: 3.4.0-ge224610 and @ ABM103 # 1 SMP PREEMPT
VERSION BUILD: 2.22.401.4 CL365360

My Desire has 2.1 as original stock ROM. I downloaded Official Froyo 2.2 and installed manually (not by OTA). Now i want to root my Desire to install more apps with Cook ROM. How can i do that? Do i need to downgrade to the 2.1 original?

yeah the latest version of unrevoked works on the newer hboots that came with the ota

Same problem, with no solution
(maporcapupazza, se penso a tutte le rom che ho cambiato sull'hd... )
I've updated to froyo 2.2 by OTA and used unrEVOked 3.21 to root. Didn't get any issue at all. Just one click and then sit back until it finishes. Maybe you can also try out Universal Androot
btw, I'm still using stock ROM....as for now

Are you using the latest version of unrevoked v3.21? Should fix that kind of error i think..Redownload the last version from the unrevoked web site..

If I make this operation with Unrevoked all the data will be lost or all the applications will stay installed in the phone?
I saw that HTC Sync must be uninstalled in PC, it's necessary another drivers?

I can't find any info on how to root this thing, I'm not sure if I can root it like the others S5360s. I just want to root it for now, with no custom roms. Thanks in advance.

You can't root without unlocking the boot loader. And check the sticky thread in the general thread by ckpv5 for rooting.

A RUU is basically ur phones rescue cd, u don't need it unless u know u will screw up....go root .use cm9 rc4 it's a almost stable build

Wrong section for questions.
Try reading existing threads that explain firmware and software and how they're not the same thing... Where to check, etc.
