My lovely tab s suddenly stopped working since yesterday. If I press power/home button then the screen turns on. But I cannot swipe to unlock. The screen is frozen. It doesn't respond to any touches and the information on the notification bar (battery, wifi, time...) stay the same.
I cannot turn it off by holding power button (tried all the methods that i could find on the Google's search).
I also cannot reset the tab by using Samsung 's Kies because it was on a restricted account (has to be on owner's account in order to have Kies works).
Any one experienced the problem? Is my tab defective one? Can I exchange it for a new one (21 days of purchase date)? Please help!

I picked up my tablet from by desk this afternoon and the touchscreen stopped working. It does not respond to at all. I have rebooted it both via the power button and the reset bottom on the bottom of the tab.
One thing I have learned is the process on you tube where you set the rotation lock on and power up while holding the volmue + button does not work to do a hard reset. The button on the bottom only does a soft reboot.
I tried to re-flash the 3.2.1 firmware as well. I am currently waiting on a chat session with support. Boy does this suck, I may have to take back my old nook color from my daughter to hold me over until I get this fixed.
It looks like support is closed.
support: Hi, my name is xxx Joseph. How may I help you?
me: I picked up my tablet (a100) and the touchscreen stopped working. It does not respond to at all. I have rebooted it both via the power button and the reset bottom on the bottom of the tab.
me: The screen is not taking any touches. when I hit the home button the screen brightness comes back up. I can connect to it from my computer and see the data, also adb works.
me: hello, are you there?
me: Is there anyone there?
me: Thanks for the support or lack therefore of. If you are closed for the holiday you should close the chat support.
Hello, n00b here!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S II (SGH-T989 T-Mobile), that has four 'hard softkeys', that is, touchbuttons (menu, home, back, search) outside the display area [no physical clicky Home button], and can't for the life of me, or with bad google-fu, figure out how to make the Home button take me right back to the home screen (launcher). When I press it once I just get a haptic 'bzz', and nothing at all happens. When I double-click it, as I have set in the settings, it goes to Task Switcher, from where I then can reach the home screen by tapping outside the miniaturized windows of running apps.
But, how to I make a single click go directly to the home screen?
Ideally I'd like to have the four buttons be menu=menu, home=homescreen, back=back, search=taskswitcher. Installing a specific app for it (that preferably won't eat up screen real estate with on-display softkeys), another launcher, another Settings app etc, is all okay by me as long as it fixes this major nag.
I don't get to choose other than a preset list in Settings, though. :/
System info is SAMSUNG-SGH-T989, CyanogenMod 11-20140506-NIGHTLY-hercules, Kernel 3.0.101-DIABLO-3.3, launcher Trebuchet 1.0.
(As a little gripe and boo, CM-11 on the Kindle Fire worked wonderfully, where the three on-display softkeys for taskswitch/home/back did just what I wanted them to. I can't see any reason why a JB'd phone would be unable to remap the keys to a select very few options just because they happen to be outside the actual display area. Especially as Home doesn't lead to the Home Screen. :/ )
Tons of grapefruitgrateful for any help here!

SGH-T989 Galaxy S II. Home keys aren't working. Sent phone in for charging port repairs. Sent phone back to replace touch keypad flex cable. Buttons have worked intermittently since. They also light up intermittently. I was hoping this was software related. Kies says the firmware is the latest. Any suggestions? The phone is for my 10yr old. Don't really want to invest in something new for her right now, just for games!

I've had my Tab S 8.4 wifi UK for about 6 months, it was a great replacement for my mark 1 Nexus 7, and been pretty faultless until today.
I think the trigger for the problem was me trying to use SideSync 3, which I had installed a wee while ago on the Tab S and on my S4mini, but I'd never really used. I thought I'd try sending a text from the tablet, so when I went to start typing, the screen seemed to lock, then I think there was a message about systemui having stopped, then a loop of messages about sytemui, google, gamp, phone having stopped. (I'm sorry I didn't write down the details, I wasn't expecting the problem to be so intractable.) The messages kept coming, couldn't get out of the loop, every OK brought another, so I thought I'd power off, but holding the power button made it restart without a menu of choices, and back to the loop of messages. I had to leave it for a few hours, to go to work, then it was displaying the white Samsung lettering in the centre of the screen, and unresponsive to buttons. Reading these forums, I tried a 30s press of power, start, and either volume up or volume down (can't remember) which brought up a warning about non-standard OS or something, but then it booted normally, and it seemed to work OK (early days.)
Is this story familiar?
Is it likely that SideSync was responsible?
Any other hints to avoid it happening again?
Thanks in advance, for any opinions,
Derek

Problems with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 SM-T705:
1st: October 2014
2 weeks after buying, my tablet's battery drained overnight from 45% to zero. Next morning, I turned my tab on after charging to find out that the Tab starts but without any Samsung GAlaxy Tab S logo or Samsung Logo and the Screen has turned green, rendering it difficult to read in auto brightness mode or low brightness mode.
I restarted the device 2-3times and the device started working normally. This was my 1st device restart. I never used to power off the device before.
In 1st 6months, this greenish display problem n logo problem occured 2-3times, and i ignored it, because, it used to get resolved by itself with restart and I had no service centre in and around 50km to my work place.
2nd: January 2014
My device all of a sudden stopped working.. actually hanged.. I managed to turn it off but failed to restart it.
Later I realised that the device has restarted, but the screen was not responding when the screen blinked for a moment with the opening of book cover.. and the back cover of device was warm..
Googling taught me the way to access recovery screen n I opened recovery mode with "power+vol down+home key" and pressing vol down in recovery screen to restart tab.. again the tab started working fine..
3rd: Lollipop update: May 2015
I did Lollipop update. The device was smooth to operate at first. But gradually, i noticed that unlocking the tab failed to light up the display everytime, just the soft keys lighted up. But one day, the device freezed with no response from touch screen. I was unable to switch off the device also.. I had to drain the battery by playing music using S voice to turn the device off. "power+vol down+home key" too was not working.
On googling, I learned to reset device with "power+vol up+vol down" keys pressed together. finally the device restarted, but the device used to hang occassionally.
Googling let me know that i need to factory reset device upon firmware update for normal functioning, which i didn't do after update. so, I backed up my device, uninstalled many apps to make the device run a bit smooth and did a factory reset.. Resetting didn't improve the situation much, but now, the device display failed to light up on a regular basis on unlocking most of the time..
Now the situation is that, the device turns on, finger print scanner works, all apps n everything working, but display remains black, and touch screen is not responding.. using sidesync, everything on Tab can be accessed via laptop.
Tricks tried:
1) Factory reset
2) power+ vol up+vol down
3) power+ vol up+home key
4) power+ vol down + home key
5) Power off using sidesync and then restart
Results: All failure. Everything works but the display never lights up normally..
Plzz help....:crying::crying:
Bump. I'm starting to have similar problems with my SM-T800 running 5.0.2. I open the cover and the device fails to turn on. I press the power button and the screen stays black but the notification bar turns on. I can shake the crap out of the device and the screen stays black but I can see the notification bar flicker. Driving me batty.
If i had any problems like you guys, I would just return it to the place i bought it, for a refund or replacement or even a repair, post it to the service centre if it`s too far to travel too.
You problems sound like battery and or loose connector inside your tablet, it happens frequently on Samsung tablet for the connectors to come loose, if the tablet is dropped or twisted, no outside damage might be seen.

Hello!
I've bought my LGG3 around 3 years ago.
around 1 year later my motherboard somehow broke, i got it fixed through the warranty service.
Around 2 weeks ago my phone started doing some weird stuff, he was resetting himself like 2 times a day, getting pretty worm from nothing (just from charging).
Yesterday I came home, plugged the phone into the charger, it then turned off, and took like 5 minuted to turn on, when it turned on, my background image just disappeared (Im using Nova Launcher), the notification bar gets pulled down but shows "No Notifications", the ONLY button that works is the return button, and it completely removed my access PIN for the phone.
i tried to go on settings and switch to my original user (I read some on the internet and thought maybe that was the problem), but when i tap on Users in settings nothing happens, everything else work.
I had some phishy apps which i removed, scanned the phone with ESET nod32 antivirus after it and still, nothing.
in safe mode its the same; I cant switch users, no notification bar, only return button works, no original background, no PIN.
Do you guys know any of this and have a solution? I will be grateful.
Thanks ahead!
