Hey guys, i recently flashed the Skydragon GPE ROM in my device, coming from stock, it seems like Sense has a better way to manage the auto brightness, is there a way to improve the auto brightness in GPE roms? maybe a xposed module or something like that?

Hello all thanks for the help in advance!!
So recently I've been using MikFroyo Rom but decided to try out some gingerbread roms and over the last 3 days I've tried out about 6 but just today I've tried out Calkulin's EViO 3v1.0 beta 2 with the enable all buttons and his splash screen zips... After that I can't get my screen to dim at all auto brightness or custom moving it to the lowest settings doesn't do anything I've tried flashing into roms I know dim and adjust correctly but its stuck to 100% on ... I haven't tried a froyo Rom yet I might try that now but has anyone ran into this being stuck on 100% brightness on all roms? How might I fix this my battery is deing lol
Thanks again

Flash a different kernel. That will usually solve the brightness big associated with gingersense roms.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but....
Calkulin and other Gingerbread Sense ROMs based off of the latest Gingerbread leak for the Evo have several bugs. (stock kernel issue)
One of them would be the brightness issue, staying at 100% for certain screens (Nova screens, if I remember correctly....)
You can try to flash one of Netarchy's kernels, which fixes the screen brightness issue but borks the camera I think. So, pick your poison

I flashed the GPE ROM to my new HTC One M8, and it seems pretty awesome so far. This is my first stock Android OS experience since my Nexus 4 I sold over a year ago, so I haven't used stock kit Kat before, and this Google Now Launcher thing is all new to me.
- How's battery life on this GPE, compared to stock Sense 6 ? I also flashed the ElementalX kernel, but kept it all stock settings. Curious how this will last ? My Sense 6 ROM gave me pretty good battery life.
- Does everyone here run the GPE with the Google Now Launcher ? If so, how do you have it setup ? I'm worried about Locations settings being enabled, always thought that was a major battery drainer ?
- I am running Xposed framework with Gravity Box and GEL modules, for extra customization, without needing a full launcher like Nova, these modules allow me to keep stock Google Now Launcher, but also customize the grid size, and gestures, etc...
- Speed wise, is GPE faster than Sense 6 ?
- Overall how do you like GPE on the M8, compared to let's say the Nexus 5 ?
Is anyone running the GPE here ? What's your opinion compared to Sense 6 ? Or just overall how do you like the GPE ?
Recently I have been flashing the Cyanogenmod 11 and GPE rom for my HTC ONE m8 on Verizon..
I really love CM11 but the wifi download speed and connectivity is horrible, it would be the perfect ROM for me if it weren't for this issue. My phone is on Verizon so idk if that has anything to do with it. (as of 05/22 Nightly)
I like GPE but the camera is extremely laggy for me which makes it frustrating to use my favorite apps like Snapchat. I still prefer CM11 over GPE though.
I really want to use these ROMs, but the bugs it contains make it unusable for me.
-I like Sense, I just prefer stock based android over it.
Any help on the issues addressed above would be much appreciated.
The only way to fix these issues is through source code. There are no workarounds if that's what you're asking. You'll just need to wait until these issues are fixed.
I'm using the new Insert-Coin 5.0.3 and I'm wanting to use ART but I like being able to chance the color of my clock, battery,WiFi,alarm, and Signal strength. Now is there a way to so that with ART enabled because I know xposed doesn't work with it. Thank you all in advance, sorry didn't have time to search been working all day night the past few weeks. Thanks again
Flash Viper and use ART, the tweaks in that ROM allow you to change pretty much everything regardless if you're using dalvik or ART
So its only the viper Rom with the mods that xposed sense 6 toolkit give you? I love Insert-Coin, is Viper really similar ??

No, viper has its own tweaks. It has everything in the sense 6 toolbox plus more. I'd recommend it because the tweaks are built-in vs the sense 6 toolbox which is just a hack that works only because of xposed.
I've never flashed insertcoin so I couldn't tell you the differences. Give it a shot, that's the only way you will really learn what you like
I personally love the custom ROMs of this device, but there are this little things that annoy me that MIUI just does better, like the brightness, it has like so many different levels and the auto function is smooth. The colours also are a bit to saturated but I can live with that, what I was wondering is there a way to get the brightness (levels mainly) from MIUI on Custom ROMs?
