[Q] Galaxy Tab 3.8.0 Changing default settings for downloads - Galaxy Tab 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I'm new to forums and I have been attempting to add existing media files to a new Galaxy Tab 3 (SM-T310). I followed the instructions layed out for other Tabs to change the default setting (Tom's Hardware Dot Com- "How to Set the Default Download Location to an SD Card") but my interface is not the same as the example shown on this page. I downloaded Kies 3 and I was able to load an avi file that was translated into an wmv file. I chose the external memory option in Kies 3, but it was placed on the tab rather than the external SD drive.
How do I change the default settings in order to directly load existing media files to the SD memory Card?

Problems Updating Library In Win Media Player From The Micro Sd Card

It finds all the files when I select to update the library. But when it tries to add them, the the status bar stays frozen and then it doesn't add it to the songs to the library. When I had windows mobile 5, I never had this problem. I have the At&t Version 8525. I can still open the folder and play it though. Small problem, but it bugs me. Anyone know what is going on?
Delete the WDRM folder from the memory card than try again.
solution
using the file explorer delete MSMETADATA folder in the store card on the root directory.
many thanks guys.........
just a small thing, by default the MSMETADATA and WDRM folders are hidden
so you'll have to set your pc to show hidden files, or you could use an alternative browser (such as total commander) on your ppc
try reading the wiki next time. the solution to this problem is in there.
EDIT: heres link to page in wiki about this:

[Q] Change new folder default location.

Hi guys.
I put my note 2 in for repair and when i got it back it had the latest 4.1.2 update.
Now when i create a new album in gallery it creates the new album in a folder called Pictures on the phone instead of in the default location of the memory card.
The only way i have found around it is to connect the phone to my computer and move the new folder over to my memory card which is a bit of a pain.
Is there any way to change this so the new folder is created on the memory card?
I dont think i had this issue before it went in for repair.
Cheers.

**TESTED & WORKING** How to move Kodi v16.0 to External SD CARD on Samsung Galaxy S7

**TESTED & WORKING** How to move Kodi v16.0 to External SD CARD on Samsung Galaxy S7
**NO ROOT REQUIRED**
It took me a few hours to figure this out, but I finally found the solution.
First, download Kodi from the Play Store, then run the app. This will create the '.kodi' file that's needed to move later. Next check your external sdcard to see if the folder 'org.xbmc.kodi' has been created inside /Android/data
*This Must be here in order for this to work*
Next, follow the general steps outlined here http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=262421
ensuring that you make adjustments to the 'xbmc_env.properties' file as follows:
xbmc.data=/storage/<your external sdcard filename>/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files
Again, ensure your file path corresponds to your root sdcard path.
(I personally created a text file from a Windows PC using Notepad. I imported it, then used ES File Explorer to remove the '.txt' extension.)
Once you move the '.kodi' folder to /storage/<your external sdcard filename>/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files , clear the app's cache from Application Manager. Restart Kodi, it may be dark briefly, then show the first run graphic.
You're done.
Also, if you need to download movies, etc from within Kodi, ensure that the file save location is inside the same path /storage/<your external sdcard filename>/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files
I have personally tested that downloads are successful to this path.

yeah thank you so much!

Custom Ringtone

Hey What's up.
I cutted a scene from a Video (TS format), Duration 0:16 .
Then I converted it from TS to Mp3, Wav, MP4, MP4A
and transfered it to the phone. No matter what format I tried, the file doesn't open, can't change the default ringtone
because the phone does not detect it in Files Manager nor Music.
I tried to open the files followed download paths (where it stored on phone) I recieve Error(1). What to do?
Rebbot your phone, to allow the system to poll new files and list them properly, then use a file explorer (I recommend you use MiX File Explorer as it works best), and move the ringtone you've just made to this directory:
storage/emulated/MIUI/.ringtone/
(Or your internal storage directory) then open settings and it will appear quickly. Ringtones can me *.MP3, *.OGG, or even *.WAV I believe. The reason Music doesn't see it is because in the Music app, it filters out small files and short music so it doesn't clutter up if you have actual music there. Below is a screenshot of the default settings:

Export playlists from Sony Music App

I would like to transfer (export) playlists I've made using the Sony Music app, to a new (non-Sony) device.
The playlists are all referencing files in my downloads, which I'll transfer to the new phone as well.
I don't know the format of these files, such as .M3U, .PLS, .XML etc, but if I search for a playlist name with my phone connected to my PC via USB (Internal Storage) - no results are found. I was hoping I could transfer playlist files to the new phone.
Anyone know a way of doing this please?
No?
It can be done... I just copied the Music Center database from my FIIO DAP to my Samsung phone, but it does require effort to change entries in the database to make it work. The database is in SQLite format.
If you're copying the same audio files from phone A to phone B in the same directory structure, it is less of a hassle.
On the source phone there should be a database file - [root]\MusicCenter\metadata.db. Make sure you completely close the Music Center app, then copy this file somewhere on your PC.
Create a temporary playlist on the new device with a couple random tracks and copy it to your PC.
Using something like DB Browser for SQLite, open the database from the new device. Go to Browse Data and select the "storage" table. Copy the data from the "system_storage_uuid" and "app_local_storage_id" fields into a text editor.
Select the "playlist_members" table and note the "storage_uuid" field (it should match one of the entries from the "storage" table).
Close that database file and open the one from your original phone. Change the entries in the "storage" table to match those in the database from the new device. Then select the "playlist_members" table and update the "storage_uuid" for each entry to match as well -- there is a search/replace option in DB Browser for SQLite that can change them all at once. Write the changes and copy the updated database to your new device.
YMMV... but this worked for me.
