Hey guys,
My sister has the LG G3 and the next word suggestion isn't working for her.
She installed the Google keyboard and it started working right away.
She would like for this to work on the default keyboard as she misses the numbers and other features.
We're both coming from Samsung phones and it always worked fine.
I moved to a OPO and it isn't working either until I got the Google Keyboard on mine.
If anyone could please share their experience if it's working or not.
Thanks

Well I purchased a couple of i927r's from newegg, got them updated to ICS, rooted. Decided to go with JB rootbox as it seemed to be what I wanted, simple, effective. Just got both phones activated on ST recently, so far been liking them. But a couple issues I am having with them are primarily related to the digital keyboard. I don't really plan on using the physical keyboard much...the phone was at the right price so I guess it's there if I need to use it. But whenever I try to use the digital keyboard for mms, email, searching I hit one letter and it closes. If you keep tapping the word, the keyboard will come back up, but eventually closing again, usually a few keystrokes later.
Both phones do this, both have the most recent rootbox update via goomanager and teamwin. I would post this in the dev thread, but alas I do not have enough posts to. I am searching, but I can't seem to find an answer. I do like the stock digital keyboard, maybe I should try a different one? Anyone else have this issue? The physical keyboard is okay, but I prefer the digital one even on the smaller screen. Thanks for your time.
Have you tried different keyboards.just saying you can try Swype? Or another from the market and see if it still does it.

The default keyboard crashes when used. It is recommended that a third party keyboard is used until the bug is resolved. There's a fair number available on the play store. Avoid any that are directly based on the jelly bean keyboard
Hey hey,
Coming from Nexus devices with pure AOSP roms I've never realized how much I took this feature for granted. On the S4 if you misspell a word it won't show up with a red underline which would usually give you an option to tap and see suggestions. This is entirely different than autocorrect (after hitting space) on a keyboard which can be accomplished with latinime or any other jellybean keyboard. I've read Samsung had to remove it for some patents regarding Apple.
Upon reading threads for the s3 and note 2 it seems that this is something that can be done by editing two files secsettings.apk & framework2.jar which is information I came across in this thread for the note2.

Does anyone think this same process might work on our S4 as well? Or is there another proven mod already to get the dearly beloved red underlines back?
Not sure if anyone has figured this out yet. I admit it's the one thing that bothers me after moving from iPhone to Android. I flashed the 4.3 Google edition ROM to see if there was any difference but unfortunately it's still lacking. The improved keyboard/autocorrect has made things more tolerable, however I've still missed some misspellings in my work e-mails
With CM 10.2 nightlies out I may be switching soon, but I'm curious if anyone has come up with a solution.

This feature is a part of the keyboard.apk rather than the phone itself. There are dozens of alternate keyboards on the Play store. Many have the redlining feature. You don't even have to be rooted to replace the keyboard

Hey All,
Jelly Beer's 4.2.2 update worked great on my Samsung S3. However, I went out and purchased a new Note 2 GT-N7100 T-Mobile T889. I love the phone. The only problem is that I got used to the keyboard that the guys included in with Jelly Beer 4.2.2 update. In the Input settings, the keyboard is listed as Android keyboard (AOSP). That's the keyboard that I want.
The one that came with the Note 2 is Samsung's own and it's awful. Yes, yes, yes, I've installed just about every other keyboard out there. I've purchased the paid versions and all. Still, nothing does the job as well as the keyboard AOSP. I was literally going to toss the phone because I can't type on it. Then I started to use the gesture part of it, and I'm getting used to that. However, I still want the AOSP one. I've looked all over in the Play store and nothing.
Does anyone have the direct link or the actual .apk that I can download?
Would really appreciate it.

I am wanting the same thing.
yes, there is a google keyboard in the app store. but its not the same as AOSP, AOSP has the symbols as long hold on the letter keys. and you can long press the "." and slide to choose ?! and others.
I tried pulling out the aosp keyboard from carbon rom, if I just install it, it works, but no sliding to type (like swype) and if I move it to system/app and set permissions, then reset, it just force closes... so... it kind of works... but I would really like to be able to slide type.
Hello guys
I recently purchased an LG G4 H815 european version, rooted it, installed twrp, etc and everything is awesome except one thing: the keyboard itself seems rather... Slow or laggy. I am used to writing really fast, and in this phone's case, it seems annoyingly slow. Any way to mod the keyboard animation to be faster and more responsive? I'd really appreciate the help
I disabled the LG Keyboard and installed the Google Keyboard from playstore.
Much better for me.
Yeah the aftermarket keyboard are way better. Especially FLEKSY
I know there have been other questions about the Samsung Keyboard after the last Update. I emailed them about the screw ups and difficulty in using it. I got an email back and going to add it to this post.
They admitted to knowing of the issues and refuses to repair the problem's they created. And they've also blocked the ability to add new word to the Samsung keyboard and blocked ANY and All offensive wording. (Like I'm 12 years old, and didn't just turn 35 on Aug 22.)
Here's a question to moders or Rom builders.
Can you remove the Samsung Keyboard app only from the Stock build for 5.5.1? I'd love to downgrade to the Samsung keyboard before the forced update, when everything was working fine and we controlled our own autocorrection or wording.
Like I said the attachment's below has the email they sent back to me about the problems I was having and still am having with the keyboard. I know most people will tell me to try a different one, but I really enjoy the stock Samsung keyboard the best of them all. Especially the layout and able to adjust for touch, I've got fat fingers and have a screen cover on it too.
Thanks to any and all help to everybody,
Brunner25
Nobody has the keyboard? How about a ROM for 5.1.1?
