Developers released a CM11 for Exynos 5420 model. - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 Q&A, Help & Trouble

Developers released a CM11 version for Galaxy Tab S SM-T700 Wi-Fi Exynos 5420 model.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/orig-development/unofficial-cyanogenmod-11-android-4-4-4-t2835170
Since this is the same SoC as SM-T520 "Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1" Wi-Fi I wonder whether there will be a port for us as well?
Its pretty sad that we have only seen QUALCOMM ports so far.
Any developers around?

+1 , any developer for this t520 port?

I'm trying to port it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...pment/cm-11-port-galaxy-tab-pro-10-1-t2850042
Got the BlackASOP working.
CM 11 boots and works and all but keeps showing the error com.android.phone has stopped. Trying to fix it. Thank @eousphoros for making it!

[Q] Exynos Support Cyanogenmod

Hi, as mentioned here:
"Our maintainers are working on all of the new flagships, including the new HTC One, S5, Note 3 Exynos and the Oppo Find 7a. More immediately, the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 Wifi (mondrianwifi) and Xperia SP (huashan) are near ready for nightly Support."
The Note 3 runs the same Exynos 5420 as the Tab pro 520 WiFi?
Does this mean we have a chance for CM support with our WiFi devices ?
Thx, Martin

[Q] Cyanogenmod on Tab S

Hey, I did a lot of searching but couldn't find anything about this (surprisingly) so..:
Is somebody already working on a Cyanogenmod version for the Tab S / will there ever be one?
Yes it's being worked on. If the Dev cracks it you'll see a thread in Development.

I would find it unlikely due to the fact that is hasn't happened on the Note 2014, Note Pro, or Galaxy Tab Pro, or the Tab S, which all feature the same Exynos 5 based SoC, and all have far more custom rom and development work.

The sheer awesomeness of the prospect makes it metaphysically more likely. I call this Awesome Theory and I just made it up.

Possible to port cm11 from Tab S?

So it seemed like us tab pro owners with the exynos5 were forever destined to be stuck in touchwiz hell until i started browsing the galaxy tab s forum, where I saw there is a group well on their way to porting CM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/cwm-recovery-6-0-5-0-galaxy-tab-s-8-4-t2824099 )
Since the tab S runs on the exynos 5420 like the tab PRO 10.1, I was wondering; if they are successful, if this could be then be ported to give us some CM love?
several threads on here discussing this subject. here is one of them.

Any thing is possible. I detailed my porting efforts in the thread plus I have my code up on github.. Which I need to update. Just needs someone to do it.

Exynos or Snapdragon galaxy tab pro 8.4

Hi all!
I am considering replacing my Lg g pad 8.3 for the tab pro. The thing is that I have found two variants, one with the Exynos chip and the other with the Snapdragon. Which one should I go for? I enjoy playing intensive graphics games.
Thanks in advance!

The Tab Pro 8.4 always uses the S800. that being said, get the Tab Pro 8.4.

I saw it listed with an Exynos processor, it must have been an error from the seller. I am already enjoying my new Tab pro, so far loving it! Thanks for the reply

I may be misremembering so please do not take this as gospel, but I believe there is an LTE version of the Tab Pro 8.4 that uses the Exynos processor.

actually, it isn't like that. there's LTE models of the Exynos tablets (Tab S 8.4/10.5, Tab Pro 10.1/12.2) that have Qualcomm chips.

This is what I saw, as I said probably was just a mistake from the seller

And that's why I said I might be mistaken....which I was.
Looks like that screen capture of that ad is 'mixing' the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 with the Galaxy Tab S 8.4. I've done some more research (which I should have done before I opened my mouth, but I was tired and in a hurry) and it doesn't look like any version of the Tab Pro 8.4 comes with an Exynos processor. Only the WiFi versions of the tablets you mention above come equipped with Exynos processors.
Hope this clears everything up for the OP. Sorry for muddying the waters.
What's actually in this thing?

So I have the version that claims to be the Exynos 5420, and I'm wondering as to how the cores work. They claim that it can operate all 8 processors is at once, but cpu-z says that I've got the cluster switch style. It also says that the lower power a7 cores are clocked all the way up to 1.9 gigahertz. That is different than the marketing, which claims only 1.4 gigahertz I believe. Is CPU Z just confused you think? Or do you think the implementation is different in practice

Crazy idea , Note 8.0 official lollipop

Hi guys
Iam Note 8.0 user
i don't know any things about developement or roms
I got a good idea
don't know if it's possible
We know samsung released mid end tablet called tab a8 with lollipop built in
I searched found the hardware is the same
s pen , 5 mp cam quadcore , 2gb ram
The wifi n5110 face wifi tab a8
the lte n5120 face lte tab a8
the 3g n5100 ? Can handle lte software ?
Can someone make it possible to install tab a8 official rom on note 8.0
Simple No!

Why? What would be the advantage of that?

Lot
Starting from lower system used storage
Multi users
Ultra power saving mode
Lollipop kitkat 5 (there are lot of apps support only lollipop, like fore example screen recording no root)
Ok.
FYI, I don't think my Tab A supports multiple users...

Good idea though. Have to go through and see how similar the specs are.
Seems like the main difference is the processor:
Galaxy Tab A8 has a
1.2 ghz quad core
Note 8 has
Chipset Exynos 4412 Quad
CPU Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A9
GPU Mali-400MP4
So why did the A8 get marshmallow when it's lower specced... why TF did they say the Note 8 was too weak to handle it?
Seems like the closest match to my
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 GT N5110
is the
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 SM-T350 (wifi only model - no stylus). List of firmware names..
