[Q] Upgrading S III to 4.4 or getting back to stock rooted 4.3 - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

So long story short, I upgraded to 4.3 a while ago - rooted my phone - and as far as I knew then, I couldn't go back to the default stock phone. That's fine. Locked my phone away and got an old iPhone and used that.
But now (due to extenuating circumstances) I'm going to be stuck using my old S III and wanted to find out if there was a way for me to upgrade to 4.4.2 or to at least get back to a Stock (rooted or not) version of 4.3? I'm running a custom ROM (Slimbean) and don't really know where to look as I've been away so long and don't know what info is correct or not.

The links I posted here should help.

[Q]How to Undo Root/Custom ROM ?

Hello,
About a month ago I rooted and installed a custom JB ROM (Kangdroid I believe?) onto my AT&T Galaxy SIII with the custom recovery mod. Now that the official release of JB has come out from AT&T I want to return my phone to it's original factory state with no custom anything, and then update to the official JB release. I don't want to use a custom un-bloated ROM. Call me crazy but I really didn't want to root/mess with the phone in the first place but I really, really, really wanted Jelly Bean. I already have backed up my contacts since that is the only thing I really need to save from my phone at the moment. I can download all of my apps again, etc. I tried searching the forums but couldn't come up with a very clear answer on how to do this. I found it hard to figure out exactly what I needed to do, and since I did this so long ago, I pretty much forgot how to do all of the little things that made my first attempt at flashing/rooting successful. I guess my question is this: What software do I need and what are some links (if any) on this site to help me return the phone to it's original out-of-the box state so that I can update my OS with the Samsung Kies software. Thanks a lot for your help and I hope to hear from some of you soon. Sorry for noobing it up in here.

The same way you rooted it with odin .. download the stock rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1968625
push it on with odin and that should revert your phone back to stock ..

[Q] Can I go back to 4.1.1

Hello to all,
Currently running 4.1.2 on my tmobile s3 and getting ready to root with this guide. Ever since I upgraded to 4.1.2 my phone is running much slower. I see their is a 4.1.1 rooted rom that I can flash. My only fear about going back to 4.1.1 though is security. I was reading about a screen lock bypass that was an exploit i believe in 4.1.1. Can this be patched in 4.1.1. I would really like to go back to it, however, I don't want the exploit to come back. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This. You're experiencing slow downs because of either the ROM you are using or the kernel.

Well, I have not been rooted up until today. To clarify myself, when t-mobile upgrade to 4.1.2 was made available a couple of months ago, my phone slowed way down as compared to 4.1.1. it was an over the air upgrade. It is not terribly slow, it's just slower. Any how today, i rooted my phone using the guide mentioned in my previous post and it worked flawlessly. I installed 4.1.2 jelly bean image with root injected into it. Very easy and straight forward guide actually. In the future I will consider other roms.
Thanks to everyone for all of your input

Need help updating (near) stock T999L to 4.3 for my father

About a year and a half ago, I gave my father my T999L after I upgraded the phone. Since then it appears a 4.3 update has been released and in order to use his Galaxy Gear watch that he wanted for his birthday, he needs to upgrade. He wants to stick with a stock (or stock based) ROM and I need to get it taken care of for him today. When I had the phone, I was running Dandroid. Because I rooted, installed custom recovery, etc. it reads as modified software and will not receive the OTA even though I flashed returned it to stock before I gave it to him.
Any help would be great - apparently the 4.1.2 bootloader won't work with the 4.3 ROMs? Anyone have a link to something I can just use ODIN to flash and get it all done in one step? I assume the link here can do it? Hopefully...

Thanks in advance.
EDIT : Never mind, we're good. I got it figured out

10.1 unroot

I'm running 4.2.2 on my 10.1 and it is rooted.
It was done long ago and I really do not need the device being rooted anymore.
Not sure how to unroot it so I can upgrade to 4.42.
It might have been posted but I couldn't find it.
Help appreciated.

Beware that some of us believe that upgrading to 4.4.2 via OTA or Kies or installing Stock 4.4.2 as they come is unsafe!!!
New stock 4.4.2 comes with new bootloaders!!
So for us the safest way to upgrade is use one of the many Rom develop in our forrum. Yes I understand many think the opposite, safest is to stick with Samsung Stock as it come from factory. It is up to you.
A few had claim that after you go back to 4.2.2 Official Stock, their programing counter had clear and they in fact go OTA or Kies to upgrade to 4.4.2. Personally I do not know. I do not use Kies.
But here is an example of such Claim:
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 > Galaxy Tab 3 General > KitKat Update official for GT-P5210 available => http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-3/general/kitkat-update-official-gt-p5210-t2871073
Good luck with your upgrade, I hope nothing happens with those new bootloaders in the future. Who knows maybe you will not be able to clear your counter again! I do not know I am just kidding.
Thanks, that worked, now I am on 4.4.2.
Just a crazy question, what if I want to go back to 4.2.2, can it be done?

You have not said what type of TAB3 10 you have. 3G, wifi or 4G. Nor said what procedure you follow. Ota, Kies or one of the roms develop here.
I do not know if installing 4.4.2 with OTA or Kies can prevent you to go back.
In my case I use 4.4.2 Pimpdroid 3Beta. I found it smooth and nice. But I got upset with 4.4.2 limitations and went back to 4.2.2 with stock 4.2.2. Without any problems.

{Help} On 4.1.1 because of IMEI problem :(

I need help serious. My Note2 (7100) is stuck on 4.1.1
Here is story:

Recent i bought a N2. I was on 4.4 stock but don't know how my IMEI number got corrupted. So Samsung service center guy tried everything but failed(he was not skilled i guess) , at last he downgraded the phone to 4.1.1 and advised me not to upgrade it future.
But i want to taste custom RoM but i m still using ugly stock 4.1.1 which is so bad.
Please tell me whole procedure that i should follow to flash a Custom Rom ( like Eclipse or DN4 or anything ) and do not face IMEI corruption problem and please do remember that i m currently on 4.1.1 stock rooted.
Thanks

Well, if it was on 4.4.2 stock I doubt the downgrade to 4.1.1.
Check your bootloader version with Samsung info app from play store and let us know.

As expected - it is 4.4.2 KitKat so the attempt to "downgrade" has failed and yes, the rest of firmware is older.
It is kinda mixture and if it works for you I won't push you to change and update. There's always a little risk - I would take - and upgrade to newer kitkat for your region - get it from sammobile and flash through Odin, where are you from?

I m from India and yeah i found 4.4.2 stock for my region http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/40791/N7100XXUFNL1_N7100ODDFNI1_INU/
And sorry my English is little weak. As you said it is mixture now. So is it risky to do anything with it? Also after upgrading to 4.4.2 via odin. Can i able flash custom roms? Or i better stick with stock 4.4.2?
Actually the reason why i want to upgrade is i get random reboot occasionally and 4.1.1 feel very odd since i have been on 4.4.2 earlier.

Whenever you modify your device there's still a little risk but nothing major.
This mixture you are running is definitively the reason for inconvenience - so go for a newer 4.4.2 and you'll be ready to enjoy custom roms you like.
