Hello
I installed an application that gives me the option to install its database on a path of my choice.
So I would like to install it on the external memory but I can not set the path to the external memory.
Knowing that the default path is / sdcard / My application. This makes the database to be installed in the internal memory.
I tried /storage/extSDCard/ but I get the message 'no such directory'.
My phone is S4 mini Duos i9192
thank you
Please help me

Install a file explore such as Root Explorer or cyanogenmod file explorer. It will show you the path.

Ok, how about create a folder and point to there? Example create a folder called "Myfile" than use /storage/extSDCard/Myfile/ <-- give it a shot. If it still not working, them it most likely the app itself or Kernel/rom related issue.

I did so but it didn't work
I need someone who has galaxy s4 mini and try himself on his phone.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tool.offline.translation.dictionary&hl=fr
In fact the application is small and looks like 'google translate'. I can move the application to the sd card without difficulty.
the problem is that once the application is installed, I have to download language packages which are a bit big.
By default, the application installs these packages in the internal memory. But it gives me the option to change the path to another directory.
What I seek is to define a path that will allow the application to install these packages in the external sd card.
thanks
Are you on official kk ROM? You need root and sdfix
For me it's working (cm11) use the path
/storage/sdcard1/xxxxx
I think on jb 4.2.2 should be the same

The workaround i could think would be to use folder mount and root and its very useful not only on this app

For me, I was able to move the whole 2.3 gb map file to ext sd card by just deleting the TomTom map files located in my internal sd and let TomTom re-download the map to my external SD. As for the TomTom application itself, I went to App manager of HTC and tap on TomTom, it has an option to move to SD. So around 70 mb of the app data gets move to SD. I hope I've answered your questions.
As for your past favorites saved address, the only way I can retain all my favourites is by using Titanium Backup to restore it.

OK so I applied the update and root is fine so we are good there.... [saqib] I'm not entirely sure how to create a debrick image
In the how to debrick thread I posted a recovery flashable script you can use. Just flash in recovery and itll do the rest. Once done just upload the debrick.img it created on your sdcard.
If you cant find the script, let me know. Might be several pages back in the thread.

After updating SuperSU, it gave me options to disable KNOX, which disabled the annoying blocking of apps(I believe it did).
2.I installed busybox from the Play Store. I also installed Android Terminal Emulator from the Play Store.
3. I opened Android Terminal Emulator and entered these two lines, entering between them After entering the first, I granted root access, then ran the second line.
su
busybox dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/debrick.img bs=1M count=128
4. After those two lines were ran, the debrick.img file was on the root of either the external or internal sdcard. I copied that file to my desktop, and inserted my sd card into my computer(Using the MicroSD to SD Adapter).
5.Finally, I used Win32DiskImager to write the files to the Micro SDcard. After that, I pulled my battery and inserted the Micro SDCard into my phone and it was able to boot into recovery and download mode.
I just gained s-off after rooting, have gigs of space everywhere, super user this, super su that, busy box(why all these apps anyway?)... All other apps can write wherever, now that I'm rooted. Anywhere is settings it looks for folders to save backups says folder isn't writable. I have no custom rom yet as I've not backed anything up. Googled this but apparently I'm the only person in the world with this doozy. Any ideas?

Do you have root? Busybox installed ? If not flash SuperSU update and busybox. Both are flashable zip's. Just look for SuperSU update.zip and Busybox.zip
Yes I've root. I'll try again, but I will note that I had those but since they didn't help with TB I just uninstalled them, and remember, that code already is there. So I don't know what there is to try next.
When you want to delete files with es you need to set root permissions in the app itself.
Tools - set root on - also tap it once to enable the R/W rights

Yes, thank you a lot. And others who contributed. And sorry for my "noob rage" lol. HTC should have this info and post it. Even if they aren't responsible for it they should take some.
How to use sdcard as internal storage on my redmi note 8, currently i'm using PixelOS rom. when I go to the setup settings for the sdcard there are two options, using the sdcard as portable storage and as extra phone storage. but when I choose as extra phone storage the formatting process stops at 40% and an error appears "attempt to invoke virtual method 'int java.util.arraylist.size()' on a null object reference". is there a way to solve this error or use sdcard as internal in this aosp?

If you have Magisk, you could try this module: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/4078731/ (look for its latest version on page #7).
It helped me solve a similar problem on another device -- a tablet, not a RN8.

Looks like it's a problem from PixelOS rom, I tried to use another rom and format sdcard it works fine.
Thank you everyone for helping me
Partition your SD Card for installing apps and storing other files at same time.
Make sure you have a root shell. If not, root your device with Magisk first.
Start a terminal, and run su to switch to root shell ($-->#) .
Partition your sdcard. Follow the instructions below.
1. Check your sdcard number.
Code:
sm list-disks adoptable
You will get the output like this:
Remember the disk number for further use.
2. Run the partition command to seperate your sd card space. Some space are used to store apps and their data. And the rest space keeps as external sdcard space.
Use this command to seperate your sd card:
Code:
sm partition "disk_number" mixed "reserved_percent"
Replace "disk_number" with your real disk number. Also you can control how much space goes for storing apps and their data and how much you want to reserved. For example you want 70% of SD Card for storing apps and 30% for original external storage, then "reserved_percent" is 30.
Code:
Example 2: Want 60% of sdcard goes to store apps, 40% as external storage.
sm partition "disk number" mixed 40
Press ENTER to execute your command. All data on your sdcard will be destroyed. Back up all data on sdcard first if needed.
Right now the sdcard has the ability to store apps. Move your apps to sdcard as you like.
Voila!
EDIT: I made a detailed guide here. Check it for more details. Press "like" button if helped you.
