Auxiliary Cord - T-Mobile LG G3

Has anyone else had problems using there phone in the car with an auxiliary cord? Mine goes crazy, and doesn't connect half the time, and I know it's not the cord or my car because none of my friends phones do it.

I've seen one, and it doesn't really mention a fix, nor whether I should exchange or not.

It's a bug with the phone. Try using soundabout and setting it to wired headset and that works for me

Basically, it has to do with the phone looking for a load from the HU when plugging the aux cord in, so that the phone knows to keep the line out feature active, but at the same time, the HU looking for a load from the device in order to active the aux input.
It's explained I. much better detail in another thread, but that's basically it. I've found that having my phone charging before I plug in the aux cable helps a lot.
Wow...I'm going to clean up My thoughts above.

Mine starts making random cracking noises. You cant hear them while playing music though

Crackling noise is do to poor contact points or dirty

So, I'm guessing there's really no way around this. I wonder if LG even knows about it. I'm kind of tempted to take it back and get a new one, or just switch to an M8.

I had it for about a week, I had switched from Sprint and an S3, to AT&T and an M8, but due to certain things I downgraded to a G2. Then switched from AT&T and the G2, to T-Mobile and the G3, I did a lot of carrier switching in the past 5 months lol.

You could just send it to me! Haha, some people use it as a VOIP phone in there house. I think an app like GrooveIP will give you that option.

Personally I like having a second phone to quickly and easily show off something cool on the new phone via video. I had a d2g that had a bad esn (I thought I could use it in Europe, but was locked out there too) and I used it a lot for that.
Also I use it when going abroad, as it will work in Europe and the states.
Also, I love using my old phones as alarm clocks. You'd be amazed how many days an old BB Curve will last with all the radios turned off. I'm guessing a Dinc2 would be good that way too.

Two questions. Could it be a GPS without a data connection?
Also, does anyone know of an app that makes your phone networked attached storage and / or plug it into a hard drive and act as an interface for NAS?

I know GPS will work without data, but if you need to pull up directions for navigation, you need to be on WiFi to download the coordinates. After that if you don't make it re-route it will work. As for the 2nd question.....idk

really on all these ideas. I still have my Eris (though the trackball still scrolls left) as an emergency backup, mp3/Pandora player for in-house and garage (anywhere WiFi reaches), and white noise machine for sleeping baby.
Sometimes wish it didn't have that trackball issue so I could use it more efficiantly, so a fully operational DInc2 laying around would be an awesome thing to have.
What did you end up getting?
Thanks for the advice. I also like the idea of an experimental unit, now that I do not rely on the device daily, I can check out the jellybean rom and try out google now

I remember I used to get the eris trackball to start working by putting a piece of clean white paper on a table and rolling the trackball over it in a rolling motion. Always did the trick

Yea, I used up all the paper in the house. It only lasts for a short while now, but it does work for a little (usually). I even replaced the trackball with a blackberry one. I was thinking about trying just caking the area around the trackball/circuit board with JB weld to prevent flex which I think is causing the intermittent contact issue caused by the location of the charging port in relation to the trackball.
Ah well, either way it is extra and it wont be the end of the workl if I destroy it!
Yay for extras!

htc/Verizon asks that you place your inc2 on end of barrel of a 12 gauge, insert 3in slug, make it rain incredible flakes. now your inc2 has been officially updated by Verizon
Like someone else mentioned, the phone could be used as a VOIP home phone. All it requires is a Google Voice account and an app called GrooveIP (there's a free version, but the $5 full-featured version is definitely worth the money in my opinion). I also take it with me when I travel, since most airports and lots of hotels offer free WiFi, which allows me to make as many phone calls as I like without running up my minutes. I've been using my Inc2 for this purpose for awhile now, and it's very nice to have. I keep the phone in a dock and also use it for streaming music when I'm home as well as for my alarm clock. Just because the phone isn't activated on a wireless plan shouldn't mean that it can't serve a purpose.
Only other piece of advice; I would steer clear of ICS/JB based Roms if using it as a VOIP phone. I had nothing but trouble with the audio settings on GrooveIP. But the stock Rom, or any GB-based Rom should work fine. I use MROM (which is CM7 based) and it works exactly as expected.

How much can I get for a dying G2?

So my brother's G2 is finally dying and he's going to get a new phone soon (probably a Nexus 4 or GS4). It has some scuffs and scratches but nothing big on the screen or keyboard. The main issues are that vibration doesn't always work and there are random glitches like freezing, screen flashing, and very poor performance. Most recently it won't even turn on even though the battery is fine. Anyway, he wants to sell it to help offset the price of his new phone. With all the problems, it is probably only useful for spare parts but it must be worth something.
So how much would we be able to sell it for? Any recommendations on where specifically to sell it? Also since its broken should we keep the accessories and only sell the phone itself?
Thanks

Yeah the phone is bootable, it turned on again yesterday and is currently working and charging just fine which leads me to believe something is wrong with some internal contacts or soldering. It only stops working and being able to charge every week or two for a day then after swapping the battery a few times it works again. I'm not knowledgeable enough to fix it so I'll definitely sell it if anyone is interested.

Speakers making a clicking sound

First when got the phone thought was because the camera cause that's what I tried first
but nopes
now every single sound that plays there's a clicking sound.
Is there anyway to solve this?
This phone belongs to my cuz, and my friend got hers the same time but was a ATT model and no sound. But I'm guessing it's maybe hardware, hoping it's not

Are you completely stock and within the return period?
Sent from my HTC6500LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
A lot of people have been having this issue especially on 4.4. Some say its 4.4's fault but I think its a hardware issue...make sure you're completely stock and try a factory reset after backing everything up...if that doesn't help its a hardware issue and Verizon will replace it no problem. If its not within the 14 day new return policy you're going to get a refurbished phone back but either way they'll definitely send you a new one.

For the hell of it, have you turned off "BEATS" to see if the the clicking continues? If it stops, then it's a software problem. If it doesn't then it's most likely hardware. Regardless, returning the phone sounds like the best bet.
Settings/sound /touch sounds make sure that is unchecked

Bluetooth problems

I have problems with my bluetooth headphones. It will connect and I can hear music for about 1 minute then it stops, my phone becomes unresponsive then it will usually reboot but get stuck. I usually have to pull the battery to restart.
I'm curious if there is something that I have flashed in the past to cause this.
The headphones work fine on my wifes 4g touch and my galaxy tablet as well.
I've even unrooted and went back to stock but still no luck.

Make sure all the screws in the back of the phone are very tight. If one is loose you may have a bad antenna connection.
I checked all the screws, they are all tight.

Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
The ESN follows the board unless you were to do that which we do not talk about on this board...
Hint
Hint.
Interesting, I didnt have that in mind, but may be worth a try. I saw some cheap S2's on ebay with bad ESN's. I'm just interested in getting my bluetooth working. I removed my motherboard last night just to see if I could see anything work visually. I already sent my phone to Samsung but they said it was OOW for having a cracked screen. The wanted to charge $160 to fix it.

You can get used E4GTs all day long for under $100 in good condition on Craigslist where I am. I usually see them running $50-$75, but I paid $30 for the last one I bought.
I would suggest buying a new one, and selling the defective one on eBay for parts. If the shell is in fair condition someone will buy it.
The other option, if you are not under contract, is to consider an upgrade to the s4. I have seen some $0-$50 prices so far this holiday season.

Sound fade-in "issue"

As some of us as noticed, all sounds played on the phone have what seems like a 1/4 second fade-in effect. Which is especially noticeable and annoying when playing/doing something that plays a lot of sounds close together.
The question is... Has anybody figured out how to get rid of this effect? I tried installing Viper4Android with the hope that it might be a driver thing, but that didn't help at all. I also tried disabling what looked like a speaker protection option in the build.prop (long shot, I know), but that just caused my phone to not fully boot up anymore... lol.

Yeah, yours was the only post I saw about it a while back, and the lackluster reply unfortunately. I just can't get used to it though... lol. I'm hoping that maybe a future firmware update fixes it, or maybe a ROM developer with some time on their hands figures out something. Though I certainly wouldn't want them to waste their time if it doesn't bother them.
