[Q] G3 virtually unharmed after dropping, but screen won't turn on - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So while walking downstairs to my basement, I tried to put my phone back into my pocket and it slipped and dropped on the hard floor. It dropped about 4 ft and it had a hard plastic case around it (one of the Korean model cases with the small section exposed though). The glass screen protector I had on it cracked, but the actual screen is fine. I tried turning the phone back on, but only the notification light comes on and it keeps blinking green and blue.
EDIT: So I guess the LCD is broken cause the digitizer is completely intact and there's no indication that the phone was even dropped. Usually its the other way around.....

Do you have any new updates regarding your phone problem?

The only new thing that I discovered was that the backlight is probably broken. I can see a very faint image of the LG boot logo and the carrier logo when the phone boots up, but it just hangs there and the LED keeps blinking till the battery runs out/is taken out so I don't know what else is up.

No cracks at all. The only crack I had was on my tempered glass screen protector. I thought it was the actual screen, but I took it off and the screen was unscathed.

Take it back to and tell them that the phone just stopped working. I'm sure they will fix it under warranty.

Ive just dropped mine from sitting on the loo, 2 foot drop if that and again, wont turn the screen on led flashed blue/green omg, not having a good day after being late for work cos the car ran out of petrol while I was scraping the windows, then broke the key off in the lock for the shed, had to break into my shed only to find the petrol can was empty, defrosted my wife's car and went n got some petrol in the can, fitted the filler pipe to the can, on putting the petrol in the car the pipe snapped off so had to go hunting for another, now I've just dropped my sodding phone gurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Ive just shined a light on it and it is on and working but screen is black without the torch, managed to turn brightness to full, no better.

Update, phone was deemed not repairable by my phone insurance through my bank so they sent me a brand new one yummy ?

Glass replacement, screen no longer working

Hi guys, cracked my note 2 glass last week and decided to replace JUST the glass myself. This included me warming up the screen with a hair dryer and replacing the glass. All went well, was VERY careful only to find out when I turn the phone on the screen is either blank OR white, and you can faintly see the boot logo. This alternates randomly when im prodding the motherboard. Does this mean there is a dodgy connection? Can I fix this, or have I completely melted the amoled when heating?
Forgot to add: Phone turns on fine, boot sound is there, capacative buttons light up. Even touch screen works (I can answer phone calls)
Thanks guys

[Q] S4 mini white screen only help please

A few days ago my s4 mini fell in the toilet. I cleaned it put it in rice for 26 hours~ and also dissasembled it and blew the screen with a hair dryer. Now when I power it up it shows the logo s4 mini etc. etc. but instead of the samsung logo with the noise i get a white screen. After a while when it boots up it is still white but I can unlock it i hear the sound etc. Before that white screen i was stuck with a light blue one. Upon plugging in the charger i got solid 5 minute of "fixed" display (grayer colours, broken full brightness etc.). I ran the diagnostics test which is *#0*# I tested the colours and i found the red pixels turned to pink like red and the blue turned to purple. After a while it was quite hot and i lost that window of accessibility as the screen got stuck with a white display as mentioned above. My question is is there anyway to fix this without buying a new screen panel (which costs 85$ for my colour) or the only way is paying for the full service by Samsung?
Hi Costas,
The problem you have is called „ water damage“. All what you have done is not bad except that you shouldn't power it on. But look on the youtube how to handle phone with water damage or to bring it disassambled to some smart phone repair shop who is specialized in fixing the phones with water damege. It's not enough just to dry the components and fire it up becouse the chlor from the water make conections which you can't see by „naked eye“ and there for is washing in other chemicals neccecery to „TRY“ to save your water damaged phone. And even after this threatment there is no garantee that the phone will working as before if water have reached places which are difficult to clean. So, it's not helpful to say anything about your phone esspecially becose you have swiched it on. Succes !

First error, put your phone in rice, really that only works for youtubers.
As boombastical said, you need to remove all remaining conductive and corrosive components that were dissolved in the water

Screen glass is loose

I can see light between screen and chassie on the left side, does anybody know a fix for this? Is it glued?
The phone is fully working, im just worried about rain drops and dust.
Same here, even bought screen inside sticker layer but still waiting.
I found this video, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PcoEQVtUwYQ . Hmm

[Help] Display not responding

Alright guys, I need help. I purchased my device right at the launch day. After a month, I accidentally dropped it badly, and even after it had tempered glass at the time (didn't have bumper) the screen got cracked along with tampered glass. Device was new at the time and I didn't want to spend another 100 bucks for display. And it wasn't that much badly damaged either, so I could live with it.
Fast forwarding to this date, after 2-3 months, the device was lying on the bed. A minute before it was working completely fine, but now it's display is dead! It was just lying there and there was no damage done whatsoever.
LEDs, charging, everything works just as fine, but the display shows some random greenish strips at random places when I press power key to turn it on.
Now, earlier accident was not covered under warranty, but this is definitely not my fault. If I take it to care center, how can I convince them that the screen did not die because of accident and that the accident was 2 months before.
Kind regards
try to heat down and the bottom of the screen. sometimes helps for amoled display if there isn't any visual damage to actual screen under glass.

Like I said, there are 2-3 cracks on screen as well when it was dropped earlier.

Anyone ever replaced their LCD screen?

Hi all-
My MZF went for a swim a couple weeks back. Put it in a bag with some DO NOT EAT desiccant packets for a few days, actually got it to turn back on, except the Power Button didn't work and the camera crashed every time I tried to open it.
I replaced the camera module and volume rocker/power strip with OEM used parts from eBay. Phone came back on, power button and camera worked, and everything actually seemed good until I plugged the phone in to charge.
I came back a little while later and the screen is black. Phone still vibrated on fingerprint touch, and when trying to power up/down with the power button. Did not come back on reboot, and every so often can see a very brief flash on the screen. No sound either. Thinking I somehow fried the display when I plugged it back in. Thinking about getting a replacement, but all the used ones on eBay are scratchy and/or burned in, and all the "new" "OEM" ones just seem shady.
Anybody ever done anything like this? Looking for any insight!
get a scratched screen and lay a glass screen protector on it this will hide some imperfections and prevent more. i replaced my screen once already and it waqs a pain but my moto branded part works great it came from a bad imei number
Found a decent OEM screen on eBay, didn't appear to be in too bad of shape. Definitely going to put a screen protector on it to help with any scratches. Sitting in my PO box right now, and and gonna try installing it this evening!
I am debating replacing mine. The screen scratched at the FFC and made any front pictures blurry. Did some rigging as a temp fix, but the camera sensor is now not covered by the plastic. If I do replace of, I'll do a tear down video. The screen isn't too hard to remove. Of almost came of when I ripped the protector off.
