[Q] Missing Bootloader Info - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been trying to search for the past month regarding any related information on the bootloader info of the n7105.
If I go to ROM Download mode, my phone will get stuck on the first screen, and pressing the up or down volume button won't work. In normal phone operation btw, both keys volume up and down works perfectly fine. In the first screen download mode, we usually get the bootloader info in the upper left corner of the screen in red text. However my device has none. It just blank. So I dont see any info as how many times a ROM was flashed or knox has been triggered, bootloader version, etc.
If I want to flash a ROM on the n7105, I can opt to utilize adb commands to force go into download mode or use a 3rd party recovery with booting into download mode option.
Any help as to how I can restore my bootloader info is much appreciated.
Thanks.

no one can help me?

Hey mate did you get this sorted?
BTW you havent seen jigs around have ya?

[Q] Blank display/no bootloader display

Hi all,
A definite noob here and to these devices in general so any help is greatly appreciated. I did use the search function but really did not find any discussion that addressed this problem. I work for a repair/refurb/insurance facility and can not get Bootloader mode to display on some M919 devices. Display stays blank(black). When I connect to Anyway jig/Odin, device does not indicate it is in Factory Mode, display is black(blank). I can not even tell if they have been rooted since nothing is displayed.
Version of software in devices shows it to be AMDL.
Odin connects to device and can flash device to latest MK2, but still will not go into or indicate that it is in Bootloader mode when using Volume – down, Home, and Power buttons. Factory reset from menu did not work either.
If just turning the devices on they work just fine. Except now I have noticed that the softkeys, Menu and Back Arrow do not work. The rest of the touch display does..odd.
So questions are basically...
1.)Why does Bootloader mode/counters not show when holding the volume down/Home/Power keys?
2.)Why when connected to Odin via Anway jig does device not indicate it is in factory mode like other like devices as well as other models do?
3.)Why do the Menu and Back Arrow softkeys no longer work after flashing to MK2?

Warning - EXTREME NEWBIE...htc one m8 wont boot past htc one screen

Hi there.
My partner recently tried to update his HTC one m8 Telstra phone. The screen got stuck on "android is upgrading" starting apps. With a little blue loading circle going round and round. Eventually his phone went flat and now the phone will not load past the HTC one powered by android screen. Have tried pressing volume - and power button to go into boot loader and the same thing happens. If I select recovery a little red triangle appears. Have wiped cache. Still no change. If I do factory reset, it goes through the process of "optimizing apps" and then gets stuck on android is upgrading screen etc.
My partner is even more technologically ignorant that I am so he has never done any back ups or anything .
SD card slot does not work (as he ran over his phone last year) however phone has functioned normally for the most part, up until he attempted to update. Please help if possible.
If it is not hardware problem .. only possible to fix it if the bootloader is unlocked.
Why ? because there is no Telstra RUU available, you can only fix it with a nandroid backup
To get to bootloader, press & hold both power + volume up buttons until the screen turns black, release both buttons and press & hold volume down button only to get to hboot. Then select "fastboot" on the menu to get to bootloader screen.
Can you tell what's written on bootloader ? Is it LOCKED, UNLOCKED or RELOCKED ?
Thank you for replying.
Ok so firstly, how do I tell if it's a hardware problem.?
Secondly, although the phone displays a Telstra icon upon startup, my Optus SIM card, well any carrier SIM card really, works in the phone, therefore would it be possible to use another RUU? (What on earth is an RUU?) And nandroid??? Please explain what all these terms mean, if you don't mind of course.
Because his phone screen is damaged from running over it last year, it is hard to see all the information. I'm fairly certain it is still S-on though. Is there any way I could view the boot loader details on a laptop?
I have tried the fastboot option and it still returns to HTC one screen.
How do I get a nandroid back up? Is the phone at all fixable in your opinion? I don't believe it's hard bricked from what I've managed to learn so far, though I could be wrong, as it still goes through the cycle of "optimizing apps" and attempts to start apps after selecting factory reset in boot loader.
I apologise for my lack of knowledge and ignorance on this matter and I appreciate all your help
A lot of your questions are answered here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52484527
I don't say it is really hardware problem, I say if it is not then it is fixable by restoring correct software.
That's why it is important to get to bootloader because most info are available there.
I want you to give the details of what's written there before I can guide you further.
Those details will tell whether that's a Telstra device, whether the device was rooted which may explain the problem and so on.
If you can't get the right button combination works as I mentioned above, then you need to switch it off (maybe let the battery runs out), charge it for a few hours. Take out from charger then press & hold volume down (read again above I mentioned volume up & volume down because which volume button is important) then connect to PC or charger (this comes after you press & hold volume down button not before)
No bootloader .. not possible to fix (unless it is send to HTC centre)
I am able to get to the boot loader screen (I googled so much before posting on here) but most of the information is blacked out due to the screen being wrecked. I will try and gather as much information from what I can see and post here when I get home and I will also try and upload a picture.
Do you have any advice on how I would determine if the issue is due to hardware?
I will provide further information shortly and once again I'm am sincerely grateful for all your help.
Not easy to know it's a hardware issue when it is still can boot-up but bootloop.
hard brick means no response at all (still sometime it is due to no battery)
Ok so here a few photos of the boot loader screen, the fast boot screen and the recovery mode screen. Please bear in mind a lot of (possibly vital) information is not viewable due to screen damage that happened last year.
The most important detail that I need to know is not visible there.
Really need to know whether the bootloader is LOCKED, UNLOCKED or RELOCKED because that portion is blank out with the damage screen.
What you can try ... while on fastboot/bootloader screen (your pic #1), try to install TWRP recovery
Download TWRP 2.8.7.0 from here : https://dl.twrp.me/m8/
Make sure your PC has the required drivers, ADB/fastboot - if not sure, install these :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926362&postcount=4
After connecting the device to PC, install the TWRP recovery with command :
fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.0-m8.img
advise the outcome, if it successful then it is easier to fix the problem.
Ok thanks. I'll download those things and then try that. From what I've learnt so far, I'm pretty certain the boot loader is locked. He got the phone brand new and has done nothing further than change his ringtone, screen display and lock screen. He's worse at technological stuff than I am lol.

Device freezes when confirming to unlock bootloader

Hi all,
On the screen where you are asked to confirm 'yes' that you want to unlock the bootloader with the power button... I click the power button (after scrolling to yes with volume up) and the device then locks up
Any advice please?
Thanks!
Is your OS booting OK?
Is TWRP there?
I'm fixing it for someone (I gave them some instructions for reset in recovery mode and then flashing new image if that didn't work but they couldn't quite manage to get it working)
Current status:
- OS is not booting (was getting stuck on Google logo, hence my instructions)
- Recovery now seems to be missing? Bootloader works fine, but if you boot to recovery mode it just shows an Android logo (lying down I think?) and there seems to be no recovery mode... Possibly related to the owner getting only partly through my instructions
Seems it should be fixable if I can get the bootloader unlocked, get a custom recovery on it and then flash a new image but I can't get the bootloader unlocked to do any of the above
Any help greatly appreciated
Thanks!
Freezing while unlocking is symptomatic of eMMC failure. If you wish to do more tests, please post it in the linked thread.
Thanks
I don't have more time to test it unfortunately and the owner is happy for me to use it for spare parts
When you try to enter to recovery mode, do you see the android guy with a phrase "No command." below it? If so press POWER then press and release VOL UP ONCE.

H815 Soft bricked(?) adb shows device offline

Soo.... I messed up and edited the build.prop specificly the ro.build.type property. I tried to enable some debug options without validating if this would be a good idea (hint: it's not).
It seems that this has bricked my phone, the first LG splash screen shows up with the powered by android, and the second animation just keeps loading forever (making the phone very hot). And the LED flashes blue continously.
I did manage to get the device visible in ADB but it tells me that the device is offline so I can't do anything with it.
Tried booting in recovery mode (holding power button + volume down) but it just own't go into recovery mode.
Some extra info of what runs on my phone:
- version H815
- Android 6.0
- bootloader unlocked
- TWRP installed
- Rooted
- XPosed installed
Any idea on what I could try to fix it? (I guess stuck with a brick but oh well).
Thanks!
What do you mean, by it can't go into recovery mode?
Nothing is showing on screen?
Go to downlod mode either use lgup or lg flashtool to reflash the firmware that you are on... Do u remember which firmware you were on ?
Thanks for the replies!

I meant that it just boots 'normally' when I press those buttons, it shows me the first LG logo and the second animation just hangs, whatever I do. I tried all sorts of combinations with the power button + volume down. (Keeping it pressed, briefly letting it go after the lg logo and repressing them).

I don't know exactly which firmware I was on but I can't even get my phone into download mode (same as my other response, pressing volume up doesn't do anything).
The recovery and download mode used to work but I have no idea why it doesn't now...
When booting the phone, hold the power button and volume down button simultaneously, when LG logo appear, push the power button again. You should see the white screen, where you choose "YES" twice. Then the phone should kick you into TWRP or different recovery mode.
But how the hell editing build.prop can mess with recovery and download mode? Sounds incredible

Maybe he has bootloop issue... ILAPO
Yeah I have no idea why the buttons aren't working for me. After a lot of searching I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/soft-bricked-device-t3248144
Which is basicly the same thing I'm experiencing, ADB comes online for just a brief second (kept spamming the reboot recovery command) and got in TWRP and I just flashed another which worked fine.
Odd thing is, even now my phone works I can't start recovery or download with the hardware buttons...... oh well, thankfully adb works as it's supposed to.
Thank you all for your help!
