Ok folks, ive really been pulling my hair out on this one.
I have a t mo uk branded desire with slcd screen and i flashed a rom with no slcd support (i know, stupid but i had 2 roms downloaded and got them mixed up).
I have never been able to flash a recovery image AT ALL. I dont know why but it wasnt a major problem because i could reboot into recovery from clockwork rom manager (seemed like it had to flash every time, dont know why it never stuck).
it wasnt just that i was booting into a recovery with no slcd driver hence black screen, there was no recovery. Anyway i had visible access to only fastboot so i ran the latest t mo ruu thinking it would have slcd support but it didnt now i have no visible spl or android and no recovery at all. i cant use unrevoked, or make a gold card to flash one of the WWE RUUs because despite many attempts i cant blindly navigate to enable usb debugging.
Anyone know of an official tmobile uk SLCD RUU? Or is there any other way to make a gold card without getting the CID from my phone?
Any help would be greatly appreciated and probably paid for.
All released RUUs are here:

Hi, i am aware of fact that this propably happened to someone else before, but search wasnt much of use (i tried it for almost hour)
Got slighter problem, i need to unroot desire for warranty purposes, so I used RUU (download RUU, connect phone and run ruu.exe)
i got error 131 in procces (while using several roms from shippedroms, first branded TMO RUUs since phone was originaly branded by tmo, then ww ruu) and now i cant load bootloader, phone only vibrates when i try to turn it on, dont you have any help/links for guides to solve my problem? any help would be really appreciated.
Id try goldcard method with PB99IMG.zip, but i cant load bootloader :/
P.S. I can see phone in windows device manager

I'm preety sure that you installed amoled RUU and you have slcd device so the screen doesn't turn on.
Try Bortak's guide.

But it is. If you install amoled related RUU and you have slcd device you will end up with screen not working. In my opinion the best choice ti install is 2.3 RUU because it is made for all screen versions plus you won't get 131 error which is CID incopatibility cause it's the same for all regions. And you won't destroy the warranty.

sounds more than logical, thanks for that, but its giving me error 131 even with RUU downloaded from slcd brick part of bortak's guide

If I'm right in that part of guide you should do reinstall using a .zip file on your sd card.

I'm sorry I forgot to ask you one question, which hboot did you have prior flashing of RUU?
0.93
Are you sure you have bootloader drivers on your PC?
I'm sorry for not reading carefully, do not use WWE RUU from slcd brick guide use 2.3 RUU that can be obtained from htc dev site.
I got ADB, not sure if I need something else, long time ago I registered at htcdev.com ... but tbh I dont know what I need to DL there
edit: tryin htc ruu now

I've just opened a thread about it.

EDIT: Just give me a word if it worked.
there was some progress, but not as much as I think it would be... phone restarted itself in middle of update several times in row (or i think, it vibrated several times in few seconds, it has happened before, its one of reasons it goes to warranty service) and RUU gave me unknown error (forgot number, but it was labeled as unknow error).
screen is working now, after turning on, if USB is plugged, i see htc logo with exlamation marks in corners, if I unplug usb, i can see bootloader with only option, RUU (instead of usual 4 ones when phone is ok). tried to run HTC RUU again, but it fails after system update part, giving me error 152: image update error
after disconnection of usb, phone gives me table where everything is ok, except radio_v2, where is instead of OK some "fail-PU", after phone restart, i am stuck at htc logo with 4 trinagles in corner, pluging/unpluging usb gives me white screen with that RUU option only
Something went wrong try to remove battery and try once more with RUU. If no luck try goldcard method with WWE .zip.
Also try to extract rom.img from RUU and try to run it from goldcard.
some guys on xda says you should try RUU over and over and over... and most of them says this is baaad situation, will GC work?
You can try with GC and WWE RUU you may be lucky. Everything sounds lie you have some issue with flash memory of you phone.
And of course, try as many time as you want you may have success.
I put phone into Freezer, then performed RUU and it works now gotta love that piece of mashinery btw any idea about TMO branded ROM for slcd desires, so i dont do any funny shiet again?
btw i really apreciate your will to help, these kind of ppl are rare these days, thank you man
You're welcome, I totally forgot about that s**t with freezer, sometimes it gets overheated so nothing works.
Forget about branded RUUs, you never know what will you get at the end. Now try revolutionary, get s-off and root, and there's a plenty of roms you can try. Go here and you have it all:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809328
Plus hboot change is recommended (why don't you get more space when you can).
alpharev.nl
I had s-off and root and I will have it again, but still, need to put phone in service for warranty purpose and in our country, it isnt any simple, thats why branded rom :/
btw that **** with freezer doesnt surpise me, i am giving it to service partly for overheating problems... and leaving phone without battery for a while to cool down was my standart phone starting procedure, but I had no idea that even harder temperature decrease has such influence on performance (while using RUU, phone was at standard room temp.).
Anyway, thank you again, you helped really lot
- sorry mistake in title - I have NOT got access to recovery, only hboot and fastboot
My situation (why I need help)
I am on holiday so I have only limited access to the intenet (wifi but slow and often failing to download files bigger than 5Mb).
I really need my phone as it is my only camera as well as needing to talk to my insurance etc...
I decided to install Ubuntu for this trip (first time I have used it) and didn't intall the full suite of Developer tools for android.
I need a new phone soon (the desire is my backup as my sensation was stolen on this trip) but cannot easily buy one here.
My Problem
I was using the phone as 3G router when it overheated and reset, this has happened before without permanent damage, this time however the phone would not get past the HTC white screen.
It can get to the hboot and fastboot menus but NOT into recovery.
I bought the phone rooted (in China) but it is s-on.
The OTW updates did not work even when the phone was working fine.
My progress
I may be able to create a goldcard, if I can download the images etc.. but it will take me days to get that working I think. I can get the information I need from fastboot. I assume I need an image which I am struggling to download.
I have tried to flash several recoveries in fastboot but with s-on none have worked, I have tried to find a signed recovery (which I think may be possable to flash over fastboot) but with no luck.
I have managed to get the RUU.exe 2.3.3 from the HTC developer site but I have only Ubuntu and the internet cafes wont let me install HTC sync for the drivers. I have not got a windows I can install in virtualbox and wine doesn't work.
I have searched for a PB99... that I can use, with some possibilities but its really getting annoying with downloads failing constantly.
My analysis
My phone is probably ***ed, but its getting to hboot and fastboot so something in there must work, hopefully its a corruption that can be overwriden.
If its not ****ed I just need to flash something, anything, anything at all that will run.
Fastboot seems useless due to s-on.
I can but a file on my SD but getting the right file is really dificult here.
I have the RUU.exe and it is possible to strip the image, but that would then not be signed I believe so I would need a goldcard.
My questions
Do you think there is hope for my phone or should I throw it in the lake?
Is it possible to flash genuine HTC stuff via fastboot.
Is my best chance the RUU and somehow finding a windows computer I can put the drivers on?
Does anyone know of a approprate PB99... for my phone on a link that has not expired that might fix it?
Is my best chance extracting the image from the RUU and making a goldcard even though that's a massive pain.
I have been working on this for days (yes thats how slow both I and the connection here are) and I would usually try all these before posting as I know a lot has been written about this already, but I am going mad with all the additional difficulties my location is causing and this is supposed to be a holiday. Any expert (or slightly more knowledgable) advice would be appreciated.
Also does anyone know if it is possible to get the HTC drivers separate from Sync as that will be easier to download and convince people to let me put on their computers.

Hello everyone. I need some serious help because i think i just may have bricked my HTC One M8 and i need to get it back to life. I was trying to root/s-off/convert to google play edition using Hansoon's tool, and it was all perfect until i got to the ADB flash step for the GPE RUU file. It was taking hours, so i cancelled it like a dumbass.
Well, my phone now will turn on and boot up to the HTC logo screen, but there is a small lock that is in the unlocked position in the bottom-center of the screen. The phone just sits there, like i OS doesnt work or something.
The phone is not recognized by ADB on the PC, and im using scared because i just go this phone and paid a lot for it.
**Also, i did flash a version of TWRP, so i think i still have a recovery on the phone
Is there anything i can do?
Thanks,
Castiel
Sorry for the late reply. Have you tried holding the power and volume down to see if you can boot into bootloader? Please refrain from using toolkits. It is best to use the commands yourself. I had an issue converting my AT&T m8 to T-mobile. It was HTC sync causing the issue. Be sure you don't have anything that can talk to the phone like HTC Sync installed at all on the computer and retry. Your best bet is to run the exe RUU if at all possible at this point as you don't have to run any fastboot commands for it.
Edit: have you changed your CID and MID to convert to the GPE version if it doesn't match the requirements? Also, is this the one you a\were trying to flash? If so, try flashing with method one on an external SD card.
