Currently all builds can be found in the nightly section for both Vanir and Commotio

What is the different Vanir & Commotio rom? I saw the Vanir has daily update, but Commitio has not.
Sent from my X9076 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Styling/scripts Commotio is my personal ROM based on Vanir, which I am one of the founding members....
So all personal preference.
Should I be downloading the tf700 or tf701?

I know todays is up on my server. Not sure about Nuke's
Due to the huge amounts of builds will make, every device may not be in every nightly.
But find 7 is in 8/10 folder.
I found it but cannot get it to get past splash screen
Sent from my X9076 using Tapatalk
Which gapps should I download? B11/12/13? I'm on Find7s x9077
edit: also your boot animation is not the correct size for commotio, haven't tried vanir yet
edit2: commotio couldn't load past boot animation, trying vanir now
edit3: Vanir works really well, bluetooth, gps, wifi, dt2w/s both work, camera works, screen off circle opens camera, havent been able to start torch through off screen, mic on speakerphone works! Pretty good rom, gonna try it for a bit
@DHO I have been testing this rom for over an hour and i must say i am very impressed, other then off screen flashlight gesture not there, everything else seems to be running super smooth, i would say better than gummyrom in my opinion, very good work keep it up!

K I found 2 bugs, the rotation control in the quick toggle and settings menu causes system.apk crash and google calender is not syncing with calender widget, so I have to re-add widget every reboot
Edit: it's actually systemui that crashes

Wifi signal is good. FDD-LTE in Hong Kong is 2600 and 1800 is good. I will go to China next week and test TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE possible to use or not.
Thank brother yours good gob. Thank you very much !!

IcedCold AOKP for the HTC Onex!
***Update***
I am back? Anyone miss me? Sorry I've been away, my grandmother passed, and I've been attending to that sad business.. So I do need to catch up, however I have some news, I've managed to get a src build AOSP JB to boot on the our beloved device, no radio or sound, but the rest of the important stuff seems to work!
Until then enjoy build 9 of ICS AOKP for the onex, now with faux123's kernel, make sure you flash the included boot.img!
Based on Milestone 6 for AOKP
***Tips***
Battery Life
Tips to improve your battery life
Use a underclockable kernel (or the included one from Franco), and Underclock the proc. Thats right, its a 4 core cpu, its still very fast! I have mine set to 1100mhz max, and I can really tell the difference.
Enable RomControl's powersaver, but only for wifi, it helps too.
Turn off NFC
Turn off BT when not needed
Run a program like cpuspy and check what apps are running, you may have a battery eater that is delaying deep sleep.
What doesn't work:
CRT Off animation (working with Roman directly on this)
Wifi Direct

As it uses the same device tree as the xda CM9-build, it'll also have the same bugs that one has + some new to AOKP probably. The only difference really is that AOKP is alot more feature-filled for power users. I like AOKP, and as soon as the device tree gets more stable I'll change from 1.29 to this instantly.
And btw, thanks for building AOKP. Keep up the good work, and good luck.

EDIT1: About GPL
As you can see @andyharney has checked sources and reopened all closed threads.
Kernel sources were available on GitHub FOR A MONTHS.
And YES, kernel wasn't modified since CM9 RC2. It's the same old kernel.
Here comes the link: https://github.com/MaclawStudios/android_kernel_maclawstudios
You can also apply 2.6.35.7 to 2.6.35.14 patch if you want: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=779403&d=1321023939
Also, I noticed that some of you are doing everything to destroy our work, and that's why we aren't publishing device profile sources. By the way we don't have to do this. We've developed device profile from scratch on closed license and we just won't publish it, just like Samsung. You can still use our old device profile or Jellaxy one.
EDIT2: About Deep Sleep in Beta 3
I noticed some people experiencing issue with deep sleep after installing the update. If you are affected by bug, please turn off Google location services. We’ll try to fix it in next release.
EDIT3: About something called "Seeder"
Please, don't use famous app/hack called "Seeder". We did a quick research and /dev/random isn't used in android frameworks anywhere. Seeder will improve performance ONLY in some custom apps or cryptography functions, and that's why... we've integrated seeder tweaks in beta3. Installing "Seeder" would only decrease your phone's performance because it will work in background and waste your RAM.
EDIT4: Bugtracker
Please, use bugtracker if you want to report a bug:
https://github.com/MaclawStudios/aosp/issues
Yay! First!

Good job! For alpha1 version sounds great! Downloading it right now!
By the way, at the moment this AOSP it's better than erikas's one
it works great for me so far
deepsleep is working, yt hq is smooth
everything is butter smooth
notification toggles are not part of aosp i guess (better make use of widgets then)
no random reboots
does it support a2sd ext or i have to take my chances
good work!

thank you marcin and maclaw..
A mini-bug I've found:
When you try to enter the "Select time zone" menu from "Date & Time", nothing happens - you get back to Settings menu
Also, I don't think this is a bug, but there are not status bar toggles Please implement this, even if maybe it's not AOSP - think that if Samsung would release ICS for Gio, there would be status bar toggles, as in Gingerbread stock rom.
bad work!
- random reoboots/hot reboots, nothing stable for me ...
- you modded the rom, it isn´t a clean aosp!
* You added Superuser
* You added Reboot Option in Power Menu
* You changed Bootanimation (Normal AOSP uses one in framework-res.apk)
* You added GApps ...
Normal AOSP Size is around 100 mb, so why urs is around 120 mb?
sry but AOSP means for me, that nothing will be customized, pls marcin, i know you are a gr8 developer but provide flashable packages for extra stuff! and not customize it in rom directly
It's great as it is! What difference is if you install GApps later or if it comes preinstalled? Same goes for SU!

Oh, I know, about Gapps: he don't want to waste his bandwidth maybe!

You don't have to use our ROM. You can build your own ROM if you want
Welcome to VanirAOSP. Our mission is to deliver a clean optimized version of Android with subtly improved versions of the features you love to as many devices as possible. we've tried to incorporate and improve our features in a way that makes them more cohesive to improve the overall user experience while correcting any performance regressions and improving functionality..
What to expect:
- This is not a McCopy ROM. What goes into our build is well thought-out and not a bunch of stuff duck taped together because we could.
- maximum optimization. We do our research. We test hard. We build -fstrict -O3 globally and include a massive array of code optimizations and memory leak fixes that we write ourselves and eventually submit to AOSP or Linaro.
- originality in our source. We generate a lot of new commits being features or general code improvements. We are open source to share and improve the community but we also try to make sure we offer a unique experience.
- aesthetics.. hopefully in your opinion
General features:
stock mode - ability revert to stock AOSP code with the exception of a few custom features we chose to keep active
enhanced performance.. longer uptime with less slowdown
custom written CRON and init.d.
UI and graphics improvements
custom navbar, navring, and hardware key features
halo (active display & lockscreen notifications are in review)
usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound
animation control
Improved Vanir keyboard
CM's profiles & quicksettings
additional quicksetting tiles
immersive mode
statusbar mods
clock & battery mods
lockscreen blur and other mods
soon to come -> quick cam and flash notifications
busybox, embedded root, init.d, cron etc
yatta yatta yatta
more to come when i feel like updating the op

Hi xboxfanj,
you´re the man! Thank you so much for supporting our Optimus G.
Do you mean you could build a kernel for us? That would be great!
l only have one question. Is build from source like the opening thread suggested or is it based on CM? Because since CM 10.2 I am not really happy with it...

Is camera autofocus working? Can other kernels be used? if so, which? There's any chances from features from PA, AOKP, and others to be available?
I miss active display, and some custom stuff from PAC and CM10.2, in CM11....its like running a car with manual gearbox after having a full automated one... :/

I think you should do what ever you want to do to your rom. Im just grateful you are making roms for a LGOG varient you don't even own.

OTA updates should work by the way and there will be nightly builds.
@guidoido004, autofocus does not work yet (without the script) but I do have some ideas. I'll work with Chad on it. Unfortunately, other kernels don't work (if they're not based on Chad's). Haven't figured out why, but other kernels seem to reverse the colors.
We can add features, just let me know what you want and me or one of the other guys will work on it.
MultiWindow unfortunately won't work yet because it conflicts with Halo. Active Display is available, as is HALO and PIE and many other features from other ROMs.
Nice nice nice! Thanks my man! BTW, how about the Quick Access Ribbon? Is it not overlapping in this build? Because for E975 VANIR, the issue is not yet fixed. And for recovery, CWM/Philz Touch or TWRP? Thanks!
Quick Access Ribbon still overlaps. I think it is in VANIR's source. This is the only bug I see, what keeps me from using it for daily driver. I hope it can be fixed. I already reported it on the G+ community 2 days ago....

Tried Philz Touch, it flashes well. What GAPPS is the better option to flash? I use the GAPPS from Banks I guess.

It overlaps. I mean, let's say I have 6 tiles in the quick access ribbon setup, in the notif panel, it only shows the first 4, then overlaps the others.
Can you show me a screen shot?

Okay I will take a series of SS from the settings to the notif panel. Thanks.
What do you guys think of the geehrc vanir Roms based on mako 4.4 compared to the gproj (mako 4.2 and stock mix) e975 builds?

Update !
1) Gapps: The proper way to dirty flash Gapps is FIRST the GAPPS then the ROM. For a clean install you flash the ROM then the GAPPS.
-- Why? Vanir supports automatic Gapps restore. If you dirty flash the ROM first it resurrects dead libs + other Gapp taint
2) Any problems with dialer/phone, clear your data in dialer. .

Disclaimer : Use these ROM's at your own risk and please don't blame me if you brick your device . I keep this updated with latest news and advisories as best I can .
Special Thanks to DHO ( Core Developer Team Vanir ) for making this possible .
Special thanks to MTB3000GT ( Developer and Maintainer for Mokee ) for Contributing and helping me out .
Special Thanks to Dastin1015 ( Developer Team Hydra and CM ) for his work and breakthroughs for Telephony and Data
Special Thanks to all of Team Vanir for their tireless work in bringing these great Rom's to the masses .
Latest news - 02-04 -2014
Advisory - Stick to the latest builds . Older builds prior to 02-01-2014 either have no 3G , no telephony and going further back have sdcard0 mount issues . Stick to the latest builds !!
I recommend installing DHO's current gapps found here http://www.emccann.net/dho/5-Gapps/44Current-DHO-GAPPs.zip
The DHO gapps work great and are custom created , very nice . Other gapps do work such as PAgapps . Experiment with gapps as you please and at your own risk .
Recently I started running Vanir and Commotio on my Galaxy Nexus . They quickly became my favorite ROM of choice for that phone and then I discovered they were building nightly builds even for the EPIC 4G Touch but no one has maintained it .
I was actually shocked to discover these builds . I originally went to Vanir and DHO to beg them to build for our phone and stumbled across this article . It was interesting at the time but the Rom was riddled with issues related to our device
such as broken telephony etc . Thankfully we have come a long way with DHO's efforts .
http://true-android.blogspot.com/2014/01/android-442-kitkat-vaniraosp-rom-for_1357.html
If you are new and don't know what your doing please don't flash these ROMS until you've read through the thread and make yourself aware of previous known issues ..
You can visit the Vanir Community here https://plus.google.com/communities/111378032131473754160 . I'm not sure how much we should ask for help there at this point . I think we need to keep it here for the most part since those guys are mostly core developers for all the various aspects of the rom .
Thanks guys and I hope you enjoy these ROMs

Alright cool, I can tell you that one of the issues regarding the mounting has to do with the recovery. Because twrp detects them just fine on the builds I've tried. Probably the kernel. I've seen this happen to kt before but I'm not sure how he fixed it.

I think its centered around cwm too . . You actually loose the mount when you flash one of those builds and never even have to boot the rom .Just reboot and go right back into recovery and its gone so its nothing to do with the actual rom booting . Think some permission is not being applied in a script possibly ? The fact is every single build after 01-07 . would make you think something in the change log would show up . Also the prior builds work fine with CWM so I don't think its any incompatibility . Just some change that's made it belch . I've flashed all the builds trying to figure it out and Its got to be there . have you piddled with the radio some yet ?
I'm gonna leave the radio alone. Or do you mean data and the sort? Yeah that stuff needs to be messed with. As far as the mounting, I'm sure it's an fstab file somewhere. I have to look.

Yep it's definitely gonna be an all nighter for me. Forgive me and my old computer. She's a trooper though.
And to clarify I am super n00b at this so please bear with me. I've never even build on top of someone else's rom. In fact this will be the first time building android. Or anything big period.

I'm all for whatever would get these roms to our phones in good order the fastest possible way . If your saying you were going to do that then for my part i'll gladly be a user and tester . That's the whole reason for the thread . It wasn't my intent to get in a good developers way but hopefully to attract someone to it but if you had your eye on doing this then that's great . Had I known you were planning it I assure you I wouldn't have gotten in your way . By all means say the word . Go for it !

good job
good job , i had oppo n1 running rom OMNI , but its havent otouch and camera google , i'll try flash rom vanir
Thanks for your interest in the device. With Oppo officially declaring that they won't be supporting N1, I guess we can use your help. Will download it and let you know how its working. Thanks again!!
Initial impressions after using the ROM for few hours is that except for battery life, everything seems fine. However, battery life is still an issue. Its still early to pass a judgement on the battery life but can anyone tell me which governor and i/o combination will be best for multi tasking with normal apps like whatsapp, viber, twidere and google+ while delivering good batteyr life.
I couldn't have been more wrong about Battery life. I am using Gov: Ondemand, profile: powersave and i/o: row and battery saving mode is turned on. I am getting more than 5 hours on screen time with amazing standby time, losing 2-3 percent in 5 hours with no significant effect on performance. Its a pleasure to use. ROM is very stable for daily use. Took pics, apps used were whatsapp, viber, messenger, twidere, google+, hangouts, chrome and the other usual suspects. No FCs so far.
Bugs I know of:
1. You have to turn off backlight on capacitive buttons everytime you restart.
2. I couldn't change notification sounds in few apps. You might have to keep using default.
3. Slow shutter doesn't seem to be working. I will confirm it when I can.
4. Flashlight gestures isn't working for me. Music gets played with small movement of fingers on screen.
Nothing major. Loving it so far
installed the latest rom and i'm impressed
just to confirm since i could not find the appropriate settings / no search result found:
- is the camera rotation triggering the camera app like in omni rom / color OS?
- are long exposure option & grid available in native camera app?
- is the vanir updater app working since launching it does nothing
big thanks & thumbs up for the good work
Excellent work and everything work fine
Some bug I face it :
I got FC when I enter them
I can't place date on status bar
And the ROM have no o-touch and o- click future
As you know n1 have no notification led. Its possible to covert hardware led button to notification led ?!

1. No, the camera rotation doesn't work and its one feature I do miss, but doesn't really come in the way considering you can also use gestures.
2. Long exposure option is there. It isn't working for me though.
3. Its getting updates as far as I know. I never cared for the update though. Its amazing already. Battery life and performance.
thx for confirming.. will retry the rom again as I've restored the default color OS with the latest update . I got the same camera malfunction bug reported on the oppo forums while taking pictures

hi have installed the rom again but i still cannot find the long exposure option.. can you guide me where it is? thx

Just in case if you are looking for manual exposure setting, you should try Omni ROM nightly in 2-3 days. Maxwen, the developer of OmniROM, said it should be in the next nightly.

@DHO It would be very kind of you if you can incorporate manual exposure setting from OmniROM. I am afraid to leave this ROM as it has been excellent.

Hey DHO,
Vanir was the first to get updated to 5.0 for N1. Using it and so far its great. So Thanks "A LOT"!!!
I encountered only one bug, that auto rotation wasn't working. Rest works quite nicely.
EDIT: Another bug. After I put the phone on charging, the charging text on Lockscreen doesn't disappear.
Thanks Again.
Regards,
Praveen
Which version should I flash? toro, find5? Please advise.
cannot find build
How do i download the lollipop build.. i cannot find it please help..
Resurrecting this old thread, but I just noticed there are Marshmallow builds up for this ROM. I grabbed the latest, but it wouldn't boot (didn't even seem to try - it just went straight back into Fastboot). Is it worth trying on of the other earlier builds or am I doing something wrong?

@bobsetsfire I imagine the Marshmallow builds are still Alpha, probably don't work well even if they boot up. Not sure on this but TWRP may also require an update before the 6.0 ROMs will work correctly.
I'll test it later tonight though when I get back from the pub. Although, I'm interested to know if the Lollipop ROM has working rotation. Do you happen to know if this is the case?
Edit: Rotation doesn't work on the 5.1.1, as with every other Lollipop ROM, I have no idea why. As for the Lollipop build, that also didn't work. Just to be sure, did you do a full wipe, including uninstalling Xposed?
A bit sad... The nightly Marshmallow build still can't boot?
