Which specific Odin were you using for that? the Wonder uses Multi Downloader with a .OPS, not Odin3.

I dont understand , can u please guide me through the process?
i tried Odin V3.07, Odin3 v1.85

1. Are you putting the phone into download mode before using Odin
2. Make sure you are using the tar file meant for your device model

Those are Odin3 models, you need "Odin Multi Downloader". I use 4.44 in that, and it uses a .OPS file that you need, which is namely "Ancora.ops" since this specific device uses the oldschool partition recognizing method.
Refer to this thread for the tool.
Everything else should be similar, except single package flashes go to "one package" with that mode ticked instead of the upper options like it would in Odin3.

After trying numerous things with Odin and different ports/PCs and not being able to get past "Setupconnection" on any of them this is the solution that worked for me - I now have a working phone again. Many thanks.

Soft Brick problem URGENT

Hello fellow xda members!
Im having issues with my soft bricked samsung galaxy s3 AT&T. I tried flashing stock rom after using CM10 nightlies for a while. I totally forgot to fully whipe all data. So i went ahead and tried to flash stock rom using odin. I believe my problem lies in what i did in odin when i was flashing the rom. I followed the HOW TO UNROOT & FACTORY RESET YOUR SGSIII video in the ALL IN ONE NOOBS VIDEO GUIDES post ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1728824&highlight=heimdall ). In the video he told me to make sure i have F. Reset Time dissabled before i flash. I think that this might be the problem.
Also as an attempt to fix this issue, i attempted to follow the how-to on fixing a soft brick (which is what i believe is the problem) on this post ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030 ). Odin gives me a nice big FAIL when i attempt to flash the VRALEC bootchain. I followed the guide (so far) to the exact letter, and what i should do if i have problems flashing those files.
One more thing i forgot to mention, the only thing that i can do is boot into download mode. I cant boot into recovery T_T.
Thanks in advance!
ps: let me know if there is anything i have missed to help find the solution!
bump
I rooted my friends GS3 yesterday and he was on Verizon. We had to flash the unlocked VRALEC bootchain. We never do that for AT&T as it's not locked.
Not sure what else I can say, but just make sure you didn't flash anything from the Verizon S3...
EDIT: Yeah man that second thread you linked to is Verizon. They are completely different phones...
Just download the Odin files, put your phone into download mode and make sure you have Samsung USB drivers installed and Windows 7 (mine doesn't work on Win8) and put the odin files into the PDA section and flash.

Thanks brother, i guess i missed that it was Verizon (duh!) i feel stupid. Il try it again, and update.
All you have to do after you flash the stock ROM is go into recovery by powering off the phone and holing the volume up +power + home button and select wipe data/factory reset and it will boot. Hope you didn't do more damage by flashing something from your second link.

I think he should be Okay because Odin said 'failed'. But I think it would be a good idea to Odin back to stock because that will re-partition your phone and I think it would be better overall to just start fresh.
happened to me a few times lol
what you do is
get a stock rom for your phone
go to recovery, wipe everything(data, dalvik, cache)
go to download mode
flash stock rom through odin
done.

You don't need recovery for Odin. It will completely wipe your phone for you.
Here is a link to the AT&T Odin file for the latest release.

Oh sorry, i thought you wanted me to get into recovery and wipe data first before i flash?
Don't worry about recovery just Odin back to stock. This process will already wipe everything. After successful flash in Odin if it bootloops, then do a factory reset in stock recovery

I never said to go into recovery, somebody else did And yes just Odin back to stock. And just like jbradbury said. If you are still getting a bootloop after you Odin to stock, to a factory reset in the samsung 3e recovery. The stock Samsung 3E recovery will be flashed when you Odin.
*sigh* no luck, i download the stock rom, put my phone into download mode, loaded the rom and flashed it, and maybe 3 seconds later i got FAIL again. Any other suggestions anyone? Also i noticed SECURE CHECK FAIL : aboot in red at the top left of download mode screen.

Yup. Went into my task manager and killed any Kies process running.
i used to have the same problem so i've solved changing the odin version, try it
Update to the latest version of Odin.
Also from what I've read is to use the usb cable that came with your phone, not a generic one.

if you've already rooted your device, you can just use Rom Manager (on the play store) to install CWM.
additionally, you can download the root kit from this thread and try using the included CWM tar in odin to flash CWM. if it installs correctly, download the recovery flashable CWM release in post #2 of the link in my signature. its the latest version (6.0.3.1). you can boot into cwm and flash it just as you would a ROM. then you would have a current custom recovery.

[Q] Might have bricked (Firmware upgrade encountered an issue) Can get to bootloader

Okay I have been having issues galore trying to update my Sprint SPH-L900 to the new 4.4. Mainly unexpected errors package when trying to install. Already wiped cache and factory resetted. Still on 4.3 I hope now Kies3 will be able to help. Sunofabit KIES CRASHES AND NOW I AM STUCK ON FIRMWARE UPGRADE ENCOUNTERED AN ISSUE! I can still get into bootloader thankfully. Trying to flash back to 4.3 or 4.1.2 gives me a sboot.bin fail on Odin.
I also tried a second computer with Kies 3 to upgrade firmware initialization and it just sat there with Kies dimmed the whole freaking night! It'll say it's downloading the necessary things to do it and then it just sits there with Kies dimmed.
I have no idea what to do What should I do from here??
Any help here please greatly appreciated!
Looks like you will have to wait for the official tar from sprint. If you can get a custom recovery flashed via odin then you will be able to run custom roms till the tar is released.

use version 6.07.9
1. open odin (recommend 1.85) and uncheck reboot option then click pda and select file
2. boot phone into download mode and connect to pc
3. flash file from odin
4. disconnect phone from pc and remove battery
5. while holding vol +, home key, power key insert battery (just to make sure it boots into recovery)
6. flash whatever rom you want aosp or touchwiz

Hi, im having similar issues and i tried your method above, with odin 1.85 and i cant get past the bootloop (samung logo) screen. I am relatively new to this and was on stock MK4 and flashed the 4.4.2 OTA file that was posted on XDA because i was too impatient to wait for the OTA. After flashing the 4.4.2 file, i decided i was going to go back to Stock MC2 (Billard's file) and just wait for the OTA updates all over again, which has proved to be stupid on my part. As i was going through the process of receiving the OTA for MK4, the phone just got hung up on the Samsung logo screen and i havent been able to get it back to normal yet.
I have tried your method above, tried going back to MK4 through an Odin Tar, tried flashing TWRP, and ive gotten nowhere. Ive spent the last two days on here, researching and downloading files that have worked for others. Im at wits end.
Any advice, aside what you've described above would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for anything you can do.
Samsung Bootloop After Updating to MK4
I'm also having a similar issue. I'm able to successfully flash garwyn's modified mk4 stock rom using odin, but the original tar file always fails instantly after attempting to flash sboot.bin. When the original tar file is flashed, the phone reports "Unsupported Version" in the download screen. I was able to flash the stock mk4 recovery and the twrp and philz custom recoveries, but I was not able to get into the recovery mode. The phone remains in the "Samsung Galaxy Note II" screen when trying to boot normally or get into recovery. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ignore the ND8 stuff, as that is indicitive of a newer modem and bootloader, and you would be getting yourself deep into Samsung KNOX territory. If you don't know what KNOX is, there's plenty of info on it here on XDA and on the web. All I can say is be careful with KNOX.
If you flash PhilZ recovery via ODIN and your ROM of choice and GAPPs via PhilZ, you shouls be good to go.
PhilZ DL link:

.MD5 files are for ODIN, .zip files are for later updating the recovery within the recovery.

If you have your sights on that ROM, I encourage you to read that thread's original post carefully.
There is a link where you should direct your questions regarding that ROM.
As for using ODIN, it's quite simple. Just download it and run the program from the folder directly (no installation required). Choose "PDA", find the recovery file (.MD5), and press start.
If the recovery doesn't stick, you may have to uncheck the "auto-reboot". Retry the flashing process. Once finished (should read "PASS" in green), unplug the USB remove the battery, re-insert the battery while holding Power+Vol UP+Home. That should take you into PhilZ.

Try ODIN 3.07 and use the PDA option. Not sure if that'll help, but give it a go.
The ND8 works great for some, and others dont like it. Personally id flash ND8 as i get better LTE signal with it. After ND8 boots flash philz recovery in odin 3.07 like he suggested.. go back to recovery and root with the philz option, under the "advanced" menu i believe, and install supersu on the stock rom. Run supersu and it will prompt you to disable knox, just hit yes. Then update to your rom of choice.

[Q] Boost Mobile Prepaid Galaxy S3 "SPH-L710T". Can it be rooted or not?

Hi everyone,
First, I am sorry that I am posting on a topic that I am sure is all over the forums. It is just I cannot find what I need and I need help.
Can the Galaxy S3 from Boost Mobile on a prepaid plan be rooted or not? This is the exact Model # "SPH-L710T". If not i get it, but if so would someone please give me a hand?
Can i get a step by step on the Tools I would need to do this and also advice on a custom ROM to load if that is possible? I am using Linux Mint 17 for a OS at the moment. I am technically inclined for the most part. I am a Network Technician and have rooted a handful of other phones in the past. Favorite being my first. Vibrant with Team Whiskey ROM few years ago.
I would use mobile ODIN if that is possible. I am all about doing everything I can directly from the phone.
Thank you in advance for any help i can get.

when did you buy the s3 from boost mobile? i work at selling and activating them and i have one my self and they all have the model # SPH-L710 with out the "T", now seeing as your with boost that would mean you're on Kit-Kat 4.4.2 aka NDC now if you can't manage to root it on NDC i would suggest PC Odin Flashing the Stock ND8 rom that will erase everything on your phone and then trying the same root methods you have tried on NDC on the ND8 4.4.2 rom
PS. Don't use Mobile Odin for flashing Stock.tar files and since your running Linux/Ubuntu i would say set up a virtual machine with Windows 7-8.1 then using Odin on the Virtual Windows on your Linux OS
I just bought this phone few days ago. 9/9/14
Samsung Galaxy S3

I have not attempted any flashing at all. Also there is an Odin I believe for Linux. I had thought I used something similar because I rooted the Galaxy S2 Tmobile Prepaid phone I had last.

here is a link to the specs
by the wording use in the Detailed review it seems to be a newer version of the S3 that boost have that comes with 4.3 instead of 4.1.2 and it turns out mine was also one of these "updated" models even though on the back of the Phone it doesn't show the "T" now i would suggest flashing Philz Recovery in Odin that has an Option to root the Stock Rom that your on....
and the SPH-L710 came out in July 2012 and the SPH-L710T came out on May of this year....
Can you give me links and a brief run down on what to do please? A little unsure about this since the model is so new and not many it seems like have done anything with it. Im thinking i just want to root but if a ROM that works is out i might go for it after a backup. I have ROM manager premium also just so you know to handle that.

well before when i had NDC i used TowelRoot to root it and that worked but there are some with even newer s3's from boost have reported it not to work mind you i got this one like 2-3 months after boost made it so the 4.4.2 that you have might be tighter locked up with Knox....but here is the link to Philz Recovery this one is made for all US s3 variants so this might work to get you root if anything it will work to help you flash a pre-rooted rom if that's what you'll want instead. and just read through the link that i posted to know what to do to flash it
Thank you ☺

uncheck reboot then click start and wait for it to finish you'll know by it saying pass or something similar now keep your phone connected via usb then press and hold the power button and let it turn off then just use the Power+Home+Volume up keys to boot into the recovery and Odin/Jodin will say that it was successful
It says i need a PIT file

do you have Pit checked? and i don't know where you can get it :/
No i dont. This is in Jodin. I put the tar md5 in PDA category as instructed and it asks for a PIT file

Ok so I flash the Tar MD5 file and that alone will give me root? What do i do once I boot into recovery? I just want to start by rooting.

okay once your in Philz recovery touch where it says "PhilZ Settings" then touch Re-root System (SuperSU) and then it will root your stock rom.....but just flashing the recovery wont give you root
will flashing Philz modify the modem?
Question, I've done this before only shortly after messing up the radio. Will flashing Philz modify the modem? I don't mind tripping knox (educate me further if I lack precaution). would like to attempt this again as I plan on backing up completely per mount in the future + further modifying & building roms for this model. (There are people out there that are stuck with no radio from flashing incompatible roms backing up the modem & hosting it in a flashable zip will be my first task) thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:

flashing the recovery it self won't change or erase the modem at all....flashing a different modem on the other hand will.....now if you have stock NDC with stock kernel on your S3 but you flash the ND8 modem then you'll get bad signal and what not but if you have the custom kernel from Ktoonsez then all will be good; the same can be said for stock ND8 with stock kernel on your S3 and the NDC modem is here and can be flashed in the recovery but the ND8 modem can only be flashed through Odin in the stock rom.tar
Thanks, That's as I thought. I just wanted to cover my bases. Any tips for backing up the modem (triband)?

That is great news. Congratulations. Question please. Did it ask you for a PIT file? I am on Linux Mint so will be using Heimdall or Jodin(web based ODIN). I managed to connect Heimdall and download the PIT file from the device. I am assuming if it asks for a PIT file I give it the one I made from the phone and I am good to go. Does anyone else believe this to be true? I should be good?
Any preference for Jodin or Heimdall?
