Help! I miss my LG G2!!! - Sprint LG G2

Hello friends!
I miss my G2 dearly. It's been stuck on the LG Security Error boot screen since I f*cked up the custom recovery installation. I purchased the phone (Sprint LS980) already rooted and running 2faced G3 Rom on TMobile network. But since there was no custom recovery, I tried to install one. Used the wrong file and screwed things up.
I have tried to flash the stock Sprint ZV8 TOT file and I get the "Device Model is different" error.
I tried to flash the stock Tmobile KDZ file and the tool just waits and waits for the phone to connect.
HELP!
Thanks,
Arnel

Did you try the universal DLL, not the sprint one.

I did. Flash Tool crashes.

Is there a specific version of the Flash Tool that I need to pair with the universal dll (LGUP_8974.dll) to prevent the crash?

[Q] E975 running e973 stock kdz

I rooted my international version E975 last night but because I'm a bit noob I didn't realise I also had to unlock the bootloader. So when I installed CWR I got stuck in the secure boot loop. I managed to get out of that with the KDZ loader through 'download mode' however I wasn't able to find the correct stock rom. Each time I tried to download the australia E975 rom it would fail download half way though, getting only 500mb or so.
I tried heaps of other links to the rom but they all seem to be broken. In the mean time I found another rom and loaded it without realising it was for the E973. So it's out of the boot loop, but it thinks it's an E973 now and I don't have any 3g/data access and the rear camera doesn't work.
So my question is: where can I find the stock rom for the australian version of E975? and ultimately I want to root, unlock bootloader and install the custom 4.3 rom. Do I first need to be back to 4.1.2 to do that? or can I do it from the wrong E973 rom, running 4.0.4?

Why not try the rooting procedure again on the existing Rom, unlock boot loader, install CWM and flash any custom Rom you want ?

That would definitely solve the problem of not being able to find the stock rom, but I was concerned that most of the guides I've read state that the starting state should be 4.1.2.
I'm worried that starting with the E973 rom might cause some incompatibility during the root/unlock/freegee/rom install...

I'm not an expert, but I believe you can flash any Rom as long as you do a clean wipe, and the hardware supports it.
Edit:
Well, maybe you better wait till a real expert confirms this.

Did I kill it? Com.Android.Phone has stopped

I rooted and used freegee to put cwm on. I tried to flash a rom but on boot it says com. android phone has stopped. I click Ok but it reappears instantly. Occasionally it also says nfc has stopped. I need all the help you guys can offer. Thanks!!!
Turn off your phone. Boot into cwm and do a restore of your backup. This seems to be a problem with the ROM, can you link to it?

It says no files for the back up. Basically I'm screwed? It was the Canadian cm10.2
use kdz updater to return to stock. or make a total wipe, push rom and gapps via adb and reinstall the custom rom again.

I've tried to return to stock using kdz but I click flash and 2 lines of code appear saying it started. How long should it take to flash? Right now I'm just trying to side load a stock variation. I'm just new to adb and flashing on computers.

That is because u have installed wrong baseband on your phone. Recover your previos stock rom and copy modem.img from it, you can find many HOW TO here on this forum. Only after that flash new ROM, copy your original EFS and modem into it.
Wrong rom or wrong kernel probably due to wrong rom. Try the above or flash a kernel appropriate for your Android version.

OTA update bricked my phone. Need advice

Hi all,
mt LG Optimous Pro G E988 has been working fine for 6 months,
But over night there was a OTA update, and now my phone is "stuck"
I say stuck because it will boot with the message
"Secure Booting Error"
"Cause: Device Unlock!! So Boot Sucess!!!"
then it goes into my CWM Recovery....
I had rooted with cwm
Here is where I am having the problem. It never fully installed the OTA update, because I had a boot loader installed.
I had tried to wipe everything and do a factory update, but no use.
I also tried using LG Mobile Support Tool to reflash the factory ROM
as per: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45953380&postcount=1
Yesterday when I tried it, the LG f;lash tool said it was not able to connect to the LG Server
But today the program is saying there is not enough power and may cause a problem.
I have just charged the phone for 9 hrs straight. I don't believe that it's undercharged
Is there a way for me to flash the phone with the original ROM without connecting to LG's server (using their Support Tool)?
Please help.
Thanks
Since you already have CWM installed I hope you have a backup which you can restore. Backup your apps and settings using tools like super backup or titanium. Then reload the JB 4.1.2 kdz from pc. You can look for the steps on xda forums. Once that is done successfully you will loose root. Then try official update via OTA. Or you can try to update via pc tool. Someone already shared the kitkat kdz on xda forums. You can try that too. All the best.

Unfortunately I do not have the backup anymore.
I also tried updating via the LG Mobile Support Tool, which did not work as it gives an error about not being able to connect to the server
I tried the guide from Madmack "[GUIDE] [E980] Fix soft bricks. Flash back to stock using LGFLashTools"
But I have not been able to locate the TOT file for the international E988
I tried to use the one he provided and it did not work (yea I'm desperate to try anything now)
Anyone out there have a TOT file for the international E988?
Or is there a way to crate one from the KDZ files?
please help
thanks
Not sure why you need a tot file. Kdz is fine. Look in xda for guides on loading the kdz file. That is a sure way of unbricking your phone. If it is still bricking after kdz load go jnto stock recovery and clear all caches and reboot. Most guides i have used mention this as an optional step.

Same thing happened to me with the value update. You have no choice but to reflash stock with the lg flash tool. I flashed mine with the telcel flashware but got brave enough before the kitkat update to flash back to att with .tot file .You should be fine once you reflash stock

Here is the link to the tutorial ... http://www.cellrabta.pk/2013/10/how-to-flash-big-kdz-files-optimus-g-gk-g-pro-g2-and-others/.
Note that it is not my own but a tutorial that I used successfully for my phone multiple times.
And here is the link to the XDA forum discussion that has links for the KDZ downloads ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2438088

[Q] Help Needed! How To Flash Stock Recovery for LG Optimus G Pro

I installed cwm recovery soon after I got my LG Optimus G Pro because I wanted Android 4.4.2 Kitkat but after installing multiple ROM's I wasn't very satisfied with the battery life so I returned to the stock ROM.
I got the notification for the OTA from At&t for Android 4.4.2 but because I have cwm recovery I can't install the OTA.
I have been searching the internet and countless forums and every solution I have found hasn't been clear enough on how to return to the stock recovery.
If anyone can help me on this it would be greatly appreciated!:good:
Which version of LG G Pro do you have?
Irrespective of the version you can try unrooting using the menu entry in SUPERSU app. Then run the OTA.
I have a LG E988 which is the international version. I had ROOT but I updated using the LGMobile Support Tool on my PC. Update to KitKat went through fine and as expected I lost ROOT.

Dont ever do this. This will softbrick your device and will cause it to go bootloop into recovery. Your best option is to flash kdz/tot. Just backup everything.

So many opinions - no authatative answers
I need to unroot and get the OTA 4.2 for mt AT&T Optimus G Pro (E980) too.
So far in this thread it has been suggested to:
1. Unroot with SuperSu and get the OTA
2. Flash the stock 4.2 with LG Tools
3. Flash the stock (pre-4.1.2 I assume) using a ROM manager I assume?
4. Never unroot with SuperSU and get the OTA as it will "softbrick" (whatever that is)
I'm a newbie to this and barely got my AT&T Optimus G Pro (E980) rooted because there were so many conflicting methods, only one worked and that was after re-installing ADB to a lower version.
What is a newbie to believe with all this conflicting advice? Is there a moderation team that will flag the correct answer?
Thanks Guys

Boot Loop after trying to Flash Cyanogenmod 11 through AutoRec?

Hello,
I am very new to rooting, and just rooted my Sprint LG G2 with 4.4.2 KitKat through IORoot 25 and then used AutoRec as my TWRP. I then downloaded Cyanogenmod11 from its website onto my phone, and tried to flash install it through AutoRec. However, when I try to install the CM11 ROM, I get the "MD5 not found" message, and when I try to reboot after this, my phone goes into what I think is Bootloop (the LG home screen continuously turns on for a couple seconds, then stops for a split second, and then turns back on for a couple seconds). Fortunately, I am was able to hard restart my phone by holding Power and Volume Up together while this screen is on, and I was able to restore my phone with the backup I made, and my phone is now working fine with the stock ROM. Has anyone else had this problem before, and if so is there a better way for my to install custom ROM, and/or fix that MD5 message? Does anyone know what that MD5 message means?
One other note, I have been doing some reading and I currently have ZVC radio. I'm not sure what this means exactly, but would this make a difference?
Thanks!
If you are on 4.4.2 cm won't work on that version yet

Interesting, thanks. Are there any ROMs that work for 4.4.2 that people have been using, or am I pretty much stuck with the stock ROM until CM is updated?
Cloudyfa has some in the G2 android development forum. There are some others that will work with sprint.

thanks for ur reply,
Im not sure what "radio" version, but i know its updated to VS980-26A
anyway i sorted the problem by using the cm11 version on this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2702958
i simply downloaded the one here and installed, (skipped all the steps and just put it in the internal memory and flashed it)
Now its working well. ill let you know if any problems arise.
