Good question from the looks of the information found in the link its still 4.4.2 just with some security updates. From a view doesn't seem like it but also wouldn't hurt to see it offers some improvements.
Android version: 4.4.2
Baseband version: APQ8064/MDM9x15M
Software Version: E98020h
Kernel version: 3.4.0
Build number: KOT49I.E98020h
If your own E98020g then the update is just only 5mb
E98020g -> E98020h: 5.15 MB (Wi-Fi not required)
Then again after the stunt AT&T pulled graying out the APN in the last update its pretty much at your own risk at this point.

Alright, I went ahead and let the update download and install. Upon the phone rebooting, it is now stuck in CWM recovery. I can't seem to get out of it. I guess the update is not friendly with custom recoveries.
Anybody have suggestions on what to do? I found similar posts on the LG G2 forums, but they talk about connecting the phone to adb while still in CWM. Every time I try that, I get "device offline" and can't send any commands.

This sounds the same as last update three months ago.

As far as I've ever known you always need to have stock recovery with a update like that.... You probably have to use lg flash tools to get back to stock ... IMO

Just updated... i rooted with towel root, installed busy box, supersu, and 6.0.4.4. Cwm No problems yet...

I used this method with this image the last time I went back stock.
I may just pass on this update as it is too big of a PITA to go back stock and then re-customize everything.

The only reason I even created a profile on this forum is o thank you! Yes, clicked the thank you button!
Worked like a charm! I never heard of towelroot until now, and it took about 3 seconds to download and another 3 to install.
Worked like a charm no issues sir.
THANK YOU AGAIN!

Sounds like you're in the same boat i was. Sucks.
I ended up using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44983841, but i needed to do it slightly differently. It gave me a lot of grief last night, but I ended up getting it to work if i pulled the usb in and out of the phone when the lgflashtool showed that it was "ready". I can't fully remember the exact combination that worked, but i finally got the kitkat tot to flash and then update and towel root. If you have any more questions, let me know and I'll try to step through it when i make it to my laptop.

For what it's worth I am stock rooted and was able to do the update with no problems. I would suggest if your not sure of what your doing to look through the forums and find a safe way to unroot, go back to factory rom and then do the update. It will save you hours of trouble. Good luck

Lol I must have hit the button while sleeping ..... Buddy called me and I remember hitting the notification area ...boom stuck recovery loop... Its all good now I got it all figured out and restored my stock kk. Pain in the ass lol. Is that update even worth it ... What all is in it ? Nothing major I'm guessing

[CUSTOM UPDATE] LG2 Patch for Custom Roms

I'm doing this from work, so I'll have to clean this up later.
Standard Disclaimers Apply. I have personally tested this on my device multiple times.
WHAT DOES THE LG2 OTA UPDATE CONTAIN?
Simply put? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Well mostly nothing, I can't fully confirm that. But I can confirm two things:
1. Removes universal search from Google Quick Search (i.e. search apps, contacts, or anything besides web)
2. Limits your Wifi and 3G horribly (made my SGS3 reject my work wifi for being too weak, with 1-2 bars)
WHAT AM I PROVIDING HERE THEN?
Well, anyone who has received the notification for the OTA knows just how frustrating it is! This should get rid of that, while also updating your modem. Any other 'patching' is removed, as well as the Google Quick Search crippling.
And most importantly, this will flash through CWM no matter what you've changed or removed, so long as you're on LF9.
HOW TO USE:
1. Do not accept OTA update.
2. Download my file to your SD card.
3. Boot into CWM.
4. Flash my file.
5. Reboot phone.
6. Accept OTA update.
7. Reboot phone once OTA fails.
DOWNLOAD HERE
Custom LG2 for Custom ROMS
This is awesome!
Side question: what does this mean for future OTA's? Will subsequent "custom updates" be needed from here on out? Thanks!
Worked perfect! Thanks!
Thanks again for the update! But my paranoid just wants to confirm I get everything flashed correctly...
I accidentally clicked "Update later" when I got prompted (step 6) because I wanted to check the device info. Now I don't get prompted to install the OTA anymore even though I didn't go through the process of downloading it. Should I be seeing the old baseband (LF9) or should that also be LG2?
Thanks!

The baseband is the modem, so LG2. If it's gone, then congrats. Everything else is in place. The only reason the notification remains in the first place, is because the update didn't go through the Android updater.

Thanks for that clarification. I understand that this zip kills the update nag but does it also update the baseband to LG2 where people are having wifi and 3G issues? If so it would be nice to just have a nag killer zip? Or edit the build.prop to show LG2 so that the system thinks its updated?

SGH-T999 T-mobile Getting Firmware Update Via KIES

As of right now T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 known as SGH-T999UVLEM is upgrading to a newer Version which is SGH-T999UVLH2
I don't think the over the air (OTA) mode is working right now because I did many tries and it keep saying device up to date so if you want to try it us KIES. if you version of KIES is not up to date you will have to update it first then you will be able to upgrade the phone.
it will take about 10 to 15 minutes of your time and it will depend on your connection.
everything like root will be gone after the update. :victory:
ok after you update, you will be able to go back and use the same method you use to to root the older version and install a different boot.
mine is working fine I don't find any problem yet.

Anyone know what this update is for?
So I guess posting in one wrong section wasn't enough right? Stop trolling and keep this where it belongs in the general section.

Just reflash the custom recovery in Odin and flash the root file. Unless you mean not good for those that are running custom ROMs then that's a different story.
do the developers here give the okay to update to this, for those of us who are fully stock and not rooted? will we be able to get root easily still(with the same methods), even after this update?

That's the Windows 98 diagnostic approach "re-install the OS and see if that fixes it"
Are you saying it works fine for you?
I'm just curious... what are the improvements? I haven't seen that question yet
I hear you, no one is reporting anything about the update and I'm wondering if it's even worth doing. I wouldn't mind updating but sometimes you don't get the results and blind updates makes me wonder anyways.
Just going from memory so may leave something out. Its been mentioned but its scattered due to so many threads about the update.
New kernel, new radio (some report grand improvements), camera updated and has new features, reportedly better stability and battery, brightness slider added to notification window.,....ugh, damn now I'm blanking out on this! I know there's more, just escaping me at the moment. Ill post more when I think of it.

FWIW, the Kies update isn't working with Win 8.
it'll install, but will close when you try to run it.
Edit: sorry I got it updated but I'm still trying to get root now and using the tool kit is out dated and I can't seem to find info for it, anyone have a way to root after latest update.
Edit 2, all set. I even foubd a few things I havent seen posted yet. We'll see if it pans out but im good.

Rooted stock rom - can I update?

I searched and couldn't find an answer, maybe I'm just a bad searcher. I'm using the rt66 root injected stock rom and this morning I checked "software update" under "about phone" and it started downloading a 330+ mb file. I'm assuming this is the JB update that was just released, will it install correctly or should I stop the download? I don't want to brick my phone and I can wait until I'm home to update. Thanks.

IIRC I tried the same thing, it just gave me an error message, didn't actually update anything. You can try of course, I don't think it'll work. Also, if you're already root, you should probably install CWMRecovery or TWRP Recovery and make a backup of your phone, just so you can feel safe about it.
I would make a backup, go ahead and try the update. It'll probably fail and not harm your phone, or update properly. Good luck, and post back with results if you can, I'd like to know what happens
Thanks for the reply. I already have twrp and a nandroid backup. I think I'll wait until I get home to try and apply the update.
Use voodoo ota rootkeeper.

Just to let you know for when you get home from work, your update will fail. You're going to need to have Stock Recovery. There is a flashable floating around here somewhere.
The OTA will check for /system integrity. Meaning that it will look for all the /system/apps that are supposed to be there (meaning if you've deleted any bloat and not just froze it-fail), stock recovery, and NO ROOT (hence the OTA Rootkeeper). If any 1 of those are not as they should be, the OTA will fail.
Thanks for the reply again. So the easiest thing for me to do is first install root keeper and then find and flash the stock recovery. The only thing I've done is flash the root66 and then installed twrp, I haven't frozen any apps or deleted anything.

I've been told that its fine too do it, youll just lose root access, but mine had failed when I was rooted, so I just odined back to stock. Also, its recommended that you do a factory reset after the update. Had problems with Wifi calling myself, before I performed a Factory Reset. The root66 file for JB should be up soon. Its says uploading

Completely stock, no root.

I agree, Kies does suck, but it's the only way I've found to update and keep the ROM completely stock if the OTA fails. It updates via download mode, so it shouldn't matter if you're rooted, or even if you have a custom recovery.
I tried updating to JB using the OTA this morning, and it failed, but Kies worked fine.
Thsts whst the full fw Im hosting is for. You can flash it via odin if the ota fails. Just a better way imo. Glad you got it regardless though!

I Want to Flash Clockword recovery and OS, Can you help?

I need help with everything. And by help, all I really need is your recommendation on links/ which guides I should do from start to finish to get the desired result.
Here are my origins for you to read so you can tell me where to go from here.
Bought a "LG Optimus G E937" or so it was dubbed on eBay. Came with Sprint apps, and the back said LS970.
Came pre-rooted with a TWRP Recovery already flashed, bootloader unlocked, and somehow I deleted the OS and any other files.
Using LGNPST, I flashed "LS970ZV7_02.SV7_02.P25006.something" I renamed to .bin.
I apparently lost recovery and root, and my bootloader appears to be locked.
Phone started okay, and through downloadable updated I got to something called LS970ZVB
Read a root guide, and it told me to go back to something called LS970ZV9 ?
Repeat LGNPST, so I could "start from the beginning" again to earlier firmware and await your orders (I started writing this thread before I re-used LGNPST)
Now my phone is:
Android: 4.0.4
Kernal: 3.0.21
Build: ZV7.IMM76L
Software: LS970ZV7.
Bootlocked, Unrooted, No custom recovery.
My desired result is getting whatever recovery with whatever kernel (I dont know what a kernal is or what its good for) for CM 10.2 whatever that is. I don't know what that is, but apparently from the buzz around the forums, I'm supposed to want it. Help plz?
I got this far by 33% guides and 66% not knowing what the hell I'm actually doing. I'm hoping atleast one of you here can help me get from my current useless phone to a CM10.2 awesomeness one.
Follow this guide and u will be bootloader unlocked and also have custom recovery installed ...

Follow and read this. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35520144
Before the link above. You're on zv7 which is very old. And you need to be updated to ZVB before root and unlock.
Download ZVB.bin, install through LGNPST, then you can use teeny bins.

Is it imperitive that I use LGNPST to get to ZVB, or is over-air updates just as suffecient?
Because I went backward from one version of android to an earlier one just so I could be told where to go from there.
You can take the ota's. There's 3 or 4 of them if you get zvc. But that's hit miss right now.
Just don't root/unlock until you taken all the updates.

I'm not concerned about losing any data until after CM10.2. I just got the phone so theres nothing to lose. I already deleted my OS and used lgnpst to recovery, so its no big deal if I have to keep doing the process over until I get it right, just-as-long as I don't lose Download mode apparently.

Yup. Its in the root guide. Or the LGFlashtool thread. Two ways to install it.

Does it matter what recovery or kernal i use for CM10.2?
When u do the lgnpst it automatically puts twrp recovery on ya phone ...as far as kernels their isn't a modified one out yet besides the stock cm that comes with the ROM ...

I have no idea what you mean by stock cm.... is that just stock?
Also im pretty sure ignpst didnt add twrp because before lgnpst, I coold boot twrp and after lgnpst I couldnt...
And you didnt let me know if the recovery mattered or not...
im up at the step where i gotta choose a recovery to flash
If u go here and start from the very top and work ya way down u will have cm in no time... Stock cm I mean no one has made a kernel to flash on the side to either undervolt or over clock u get what kernel is built into what ever ROM u go with
Sent from my fingertips to you're eyeballs !

Cause some people still use cwm and others use twrp it just a matter of taste and if u want something that's been updated or old ...

But which recovery do I go with? I have 4 options, which one is the one you say is the best?
And I have no idea what a kernal is or does :3
I just know that on my older phones, it was for some reason necessary for some roms, but never figured out how to change it, why I had to change it, but apparently it was a big deal with the whole process. I've had several devices, and all the processes are different, so I'm ften ignorant to what I need to do or how to do it.
Thank you with your patience with me so far. And I keep asking about the recovery, because on other devices I tried, the recovery DID matter for specific roms, just like with the kernal. If recovery doesn't matter, then just tell me so.
Nvm i saw your other post, ill just use twrp
Well u only got two options twrp which is latest and most recommended then u got cwm which some people still recommend ... So It doesn't really matter which recovery .... I recommend twrp with my builds ...kernals are included with Roms so no need to flash kernel sepretly ....

TY for your help sofar. Sorry for all the questions, but the more information you give me, the more confident I am in this whole process...
So now I have LS970ZVC, Am rooted, have TWRP Recovery 2.5, have an unlocked Bootloader, and made all the reccommended backups and copied them to my PC for safe keeping. Unless you have any other tips, I think I'm finally ready for CM. (BTW What does CM mean?)
Now I can say I'm pretty much right back at the same conditions this device came in the mail with, which I should have known was ideal for me in the 1st place before I wiped my system clean.
Also... now that I'm at this point... I have to ask, should I install CM10.2? Is it that great? Would you recommend it? What are you using? I'd like a rom thats RAM and battery effecient, free of bloatware, but still takes advantage of my devices SnapS4
I'm using chameleon buts it in beta stage... I would head over to official android development and grab up any ROM their ...their pretty much all sourced from cm 10.2 .... Cm= cyanogenmod ... 10.2= android jellybean 4.3..... Cm 10.2 is the latest and greatest going right know .... Everything works I believe except mhl ....

ALSO... your "donate to me" button doesn't work.
If you don't mind I'd like to send you a small thank you to your paypal's email.
My donate button is supposed to be broke I don't want nothing lol...
They are all based off cm pretty much but probly the most customizable would be spleefs pacman ROM ....

[Q] Please Help with softbrick

I have T-Mobiles Galaxy S4 (SGH-M919). I upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.3 yesterday, rooted, and was removing bloatware when something I deleted screwed up my gallery so I decided to re-do everything (go back to stock) and start all over. Of course that was a fail and now my screen says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." (didn't work)(cannot get into download mode or recovery) tried restoring through Odin (did this with an Galaxy s2 before and it fixed the problem) But did not work either!!! At the top of the screen it says:
Odin mode
Product name: sgh-m919
Current Binary: custom
System Status: custom
Knox Kernel Lock: 0x0
Knox Warrany Void: 0x1
CSB-Config-LSB: 0x30
Write Protection: Enabled
eMMC BURST MODE enabled
START (224, 1440)
SW REV. CHECK FAIL : fused : 4 , Binary : 1
I had originally thought that Knox was just a app, but know better now. I am downloading the 4.3 firmware (6 more hours to download) to flash through Odin, but expect the same results. Any ideas on how to fix this issue or do I own a new paper-weight??? I have read through many forums and cannot find a solution.....
Odin flash the 4.3 stock tar and root with Saferoot Verizon method or CF-Autoroot (recommended). If you want autobloatware cleaner, search for TrulyClean. Good luck

I downloaded the 4.3 stock tar and tried to flash, but didn't work. I think there was something wrong with the file so I am going to try to download it from another source and try again.... wish me luck!!! I like to use CF-Autoroot.... I will look for truly clean and try it, because the one I've been using doesn't work on 4.3

Yeah, with large downloads like that sometimes they mess up. You can run a MD5 hash/checksum to make sure the file you downloaded didnt mess up. But download it again from somewhere and give it a shot. No reason why you won't be able to Odin

Mine says that (kernel is not seandroid enforcing. set warranty bit kernel) when it is booting up, but it hasn't effected it negatively. To be honest I don't even know what that means yet.... As long as the phone turns on and works.... lol

Once you are back to stock 4.3 and not rooted all you need to do to root
the phone is to download and Odin flash cf-autoroot.
Here is the direct download link for cf-autoroot in case you want to root your phone:
http://download.chainfire.eu/328/CF...jfltetmo-jfltetmo-sghm919.zip?retrieve_file=1
Unzip cf-autoroot into an empty folder on your computer's desktop, use
Odin which is also included in the zipfile to flash cf-autoroot in pda slot.
Once you are rooted you will need to flash a custom recovery like cwm or twrp.
Good luck!
