Root and cwm - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to root my Ace2 i8160 on 4.1.2 but don't i have to flash CWM recovery first?
If so, can you please point me a proper thread containing a good and stable cwm/a good and safe tutorial?
Thanks

Ok,thanks, managed to finally root. But what's the thing with CWM temporary? Do I have to install it every time I want to use it?

Yep. But if you install cyanogen or some other custom rom you will have permanent one.

and this is for GSM or LTE?
Is it possible to flash this over Stock rooted 4.0.2 without user data wipe?
great
firstly thanks and all that - very happy
and please dont flame me but im amazed there are folk who dont know what RAR is , i cant imagine how you can get to the point where you feel the desire to root a phone but somehow havent heard the term unrar !!
again im not having a dig its just an observation, may be im just too old and rar is a format some folk have never come across
heres to WINRAR and other extracting tools LOL
Like the other user stated, this has also been the easiest upgrade for me. Went straight from 4.0.1 to 4.0.4. Used the Nexus Toolkit to restore root, Clockwork, etc. I have tried flashing to 4.0.4 on two other occasions with other ROMs and had the odd issue. Thanks!

back up your 4.0.2 first and try you can always reflash
Thanks You.
Optimal option for to flash Stock ROM, and for rollback with the Custom ROM.

Root Question.

There's a group of user that can't install in any described way the CWM Recovery.
My question is: is there any way to root the phone without CWM ?
And.. Is there any way to install a Custom ROM via Fastboot or any other method (without CWM?)
Thanks! :good:

I think that no CWM recovery will work on my Wildfire S because I'v read that for lasts devices there's an updated video driver that cause error recovery's boot.

I've tried every method described on the index and in other forums.
The conclusion, as i wrote before, is that we have something different about our video part that blocks the booting of the custom recovery.
Thanks for the link, I'll try :good:

If you are flashing first time
you want the *.tar file
so you can use Odin to flash the recovery
