WiFi, mobile data or both?
Does it only happen in the browser, or in other apps requiring data as well?
Which browser are you using?
Have you tried another browser?
Does it only happen with one, or certain websites? Or all websites?

Hi mhg,
Re install NetFront 3.2...then go to Browser settings in Netfront, look for an option wherein it asks for "set as default browser" Untick that option and then remove the Net Front...

Any Body Please
Hi All,
First time poster so please be gentle -- I did search for this issue on google and within the forums first.
This is the first smartphone I've ever purchased.
My Inc2 is non rooted and non modded.
It has been working w/o issue since I bought it about 6 weeks ago until this weekend when it would no longer install updates or new apps from either the Google Android or Amazon Android markets.
Note that in both markets the app or update downloads w/o issue -- the problem happens when it attempts into install what was downloaded.
The status bar at the top reads "Installation of app X unsuccessful"
Downloads/Updates from the Google Android market result in an error message within the notification bar. Clicking on it opens a dialog box with Installation error "Unknown reason -110"
When downloading/updating from the Amazon Android market the error is less specific, I click Install, the standard screen opens confirming I want to install the app explaining what it will need access to. I click the Install button at the bottom of the page which results in "Application not installed".
Note that this happens with all app downloads or updates.
The steps I have taken so far:
1) restarting the phone
2) clearing cache/data from Applications/Android Market application (and restarting again)
3) clicking on button to remove all updates to Android Market application (and restarting again) --
Interestingly the version listed under the Market app is 2.3.4 even though it has reverted to an earlier version -- it looks very different.
On a side note: since this did not fix the problem, how do I get the newest Market version again?
4) unmounted SD card (and restarting again) -- since this did not fix the issue, I remounted the SD card
5) Used file manager to navigate to directory Download and look for files named: XX.apk, where XX is 1 to 20. -- but did not find any such files.
6) Per HTC support:
First, open the phone dialer and enter in *#*#checkin#*#* [*#*#2432546#*#*]. The number will disappear and your should see a notification of either Checkin Succeeded or Checkin Failed. If it succeeded, then new updates should be detected for your device and the application.
I received "checkin succeeded" notification
[Can someone explain to me what entering the combination above does --
what is the phone checking in with?]
Next, try moving any applications you have on the SD card to your phone's internal memory. This can be done by going to: Home> Menu> Settings> Applications> Manage Applications> On SD. Tap each program and then tap Move to Phone. Once this is done, check for updates again.
I received "Failed to move application" notification for each application on my
SD card that I attempted to move to Internal Memory
Finally, I recommend clearing the data from the Google Services Framework applications. In the Manage Applications Screen, go to: All> Google Services Framework and then tap Clear data. Check for updates once again.
Followed the direction above but have not received any updates by navigating
to Settings/Software update and clicking Check new.
For whatever it is worth clicking Status shows that my last update has name
HTC_ADR6350_LargeUpdate_3.02.605.1 with Status of Update Successful,
code of 200, date of 09/19/11 and time of 07:55PM.
7) A (perhaps) related development is that as of tonight, my Inc2 is no longer listed as one of my devices in the Google Android Market when I navigate the web page on my computer. Anyone know how to get this resolved?
Thanks in advance for anyone willing to help.

Try clearing data in apps settings and reboot. How many apps are installed? When was the last time you deleted all your messaging threads and call logs?

Joshua,
Can you advise on the click path to accomplish the "clearing data in apps settings" process.
When I click Settings/Applications/Manage Applications, I just see my apps listed.
I do not use sms or text messages but I have never deleted all my messaging threads and call logs (again, I've had the phone about 6 weeks) -- I will do a quick search on the forum to learn how to take those steps.
Thanks for your help.

You're in the right place, just click on market and choose clear data. Wiping messaging and call logs, just go into the app and hit menu.

When I navigate to the Market App the "Clear data" button is grayed out.
Accessing the Phone app allows me to Clear data and I did -- can you help me with "hit menu" reference you made?
Also, I'm not sure what is normal but when I go into the Market Updater app, all the buttons are grayed out.
Thanks again.

Not the market updater app, the market app. They are different apps. It should be under the ALL APPS tab in applications settings.
"Hit menu" refers to the physical (or capacitive) menu button on the phone itself.
So you used the phone app to clear the call logs? Go to call logs and press the menu button on the phone.
Understood on the market updater app being separate from the market app -- just wanted to post an observation about the market updater as I wondered if maybe that wasn't the way it was supposed to look (all buttons grayed out).
I went to Settings/Applications/Manage Applications, selected the All tab, scrolled to the Phone app and clicked the Clear data button.
Upon doing so I received a Change Mode message that a SIM card was detected and the device was switching to global mode.
Do I want to stay in global mode if I only need CDMA?
Then navigated to Settings/Call -- but I was unable to find mention of call logs and pressing the physical menu button did not bring up anything.
Sorry if I'm being dense.
Not sure if this is related to any of the steps you have recommended but my Incredible 2 is now listed again in the Google Android market when I browse to it via my computer. I'll take any good news.
Thanks

Nope, go into your call log and press menu. Open the phone app as if you're going to make a call, go to your call history, hit menu and delete all.
When you were in the all tab, that's where you clear data for market.

Thanks for the additional explanation -- totally makes sense now -- Call history is now empty.
Have done the same for messages.
Now rebooting the phone...
Tested downloading an app and unfortunately got the same -110 error.
Do you have any ideas regarding these questions I posted above?
Interestingly the version listed under the Market app is 2.3.4 even though it has reverted to an earlier version -- it looks very different.

If I will only be using my phone in the United States -- is it better to leave from phone in World or CDMA mode?

Can anyone help with these three still unresolved issues?

3) clicking on button to remove all updates to Android Market application (and restarting again) --
Note that additional steps have been tried based on suggestions in this thread but nothing has worked so far.

Android customer support indicated that they had received multiple reports of this issue but did not have a fix yet.
Worked with HTC support and ended up having to do a factory reset which fixed the problem.

Anyone get this working, the old method doesn't work. The computer found the phone and installed the modem. Does the Samsung Focus S have different connection strings?
In the diagnostic screen there are more options than the Samsung Focus:
Zune Sync
Modem, Tethered Call
Modem, USB Diag.
Zune Sync, Modem.
Modem_QC, USB Diag.

internet sharing was loaded by default on my system settings.
Turning it on will trigger AT&T to enable the Tethering Plan. When I turned it on few months back on my Focus AT&T sent me a card within a few days stating they would turn on tethering automatically unless I called to tell them no. I used the USB tethering prior for 6 months with no word from AT&T until the I turned on internet sharing.

That will not prevent it at all. Without that you won't be able to turn it on, but once you do turn it on AT&T will message you saying if you continue you'll automatically be enrolled in a tehering plan.

The exact thing happened to me. I've USB tethered my phone since January no problem and a week or two after trying internet sharing I got the message from AT&T. I figured the internet sharing triggered that but in fear of loosing my unlimited data plan I haven't tethered using either method since. Have you used USB tethering since getting the message with no problem?

Yes, few months with no issues. I called AT&T yesterday and asked if any more "tethering" triggers came through and they confirmed no. I am 100% positive the internet sharing in system settings triggers the plan if you don't pay for one.
The USB method that original worked for the Samsung Focus doesn't work on Samsung Focus S. I have tried on 3 different computers that worked previously; I can easily connect my Samsung Focus but receive dial-up error 628 or error 619 on the Focus S, the strings have be different. The main reason I upgraded was the 4G speeds which are amazing on this phone.
I have uninstalled all the drivers, deleted the modem and reinstalled with no problems. I just can not get past the error. We need to get us new Samsung Focus S owners our modem back
Got it working...
Only if you can't get modem to work (Otherwise proced to Update)

I think I changed too many settings in my modem which caused me to uninstall everything. Hopefully the quick route will work for most people! I am glad you got it working! I have never had AT&T notify me this way, only using the Mango tethering option.
Hopefully we can add this to a sticky and under the Samsung Focus S section when it is up and running.

Good job. The Samsung Focus S forum needs to go up soon!
Hello is there any way to make usbthetering on Omnia7 available? wolud be very nice
Have you tried following the same steps used for the Focus / Focus S?
Alternatively, have you tried a search?
USB tethering for all gen1 devices, even things like the DVP which otherwise have very little homebrew, has been known for many months. I don't recall if you had to tweak it slightly for the Omnia7 or not, but I don't think so.

Are the instructions in this forum so that I can use my 3G connection on my Samsung Focus S by my laptop that doesn't have Internet?
Or is it the other way around so that I can use my laptop's Internet connection so that my phone will be able to have Internet as well - just by connecting to the USB port?
I'm assuming it's for the former but I'd also like it if someone could point me to the latter.
It's for the former. For the latter, that's built-in; just connect the phone to the computer by USB and start the Zune software. It will create an Ethernet connection over USB for the phone to use, off of the PC's Internet connection. You could also use Internet Connection Sharing from the PC over WiFi, and connect the phone to that (it may help to use software that causes the PC's WiFi to appear as an access point; I'm not sure if the phone supports Ad-Hoc networks).

Awesome! I didn't know that Ethernet connection over USB was able just by having Zune and the Windows Phone. Tried it and it works great!
Would that only work with Windows Phone or any other phones/devices I use while Zune is running?
My Google Account in SHP stopped fetching mails two days ago, push IM for GTalk stopped around the same time. I''ve got a notification reading "Google downloading" (or something like that) stuck in my pull down bar since then. Now, I wanted to try to just delete the account and set it up anew, but...
If I try deleting the account, I get 2 error messages, one after another, reading: "connection error" and "service not available"
If I try switching of Push, I get "connection error" and "unknown error, try again".
For changing any other options for the Google accounts, error messages are similar.
Now, is there anything that I can do without resetting or full flashing the phone? Like, using sTune to get rid of the malfunctioning account.
Try restarting your phone...if the problem still exist try to disconnect your phone from both 3G & Wifi then delete that account....it shouldn't give you any errors if it is disconnected because it won't be trying to use push
Best Regards

Good idea, thank you! Tried it and still didn't work, though :-/. I fear I'll have to da a full flash / master reset again.
Please follow the described process below to solve your problem.
1. Menu => Email => Accounts => Settings => Email accounts => Delete account => (select/touch "Gmail") Delete.
Then return phone to main page.
2. Menu => Settings => Internet =>
a. Clear cache
b. Delete cookies
c. Delete saved ID/password
d. Delete database
Then return phone to main page.
3. Restart phone.
4. Register your Gmail account again.
Best of luck.

Thank you! I already resetted the phone (did too many experiments anyways...), so I can't tell you wether that would help. I'll keep it in mind for next time (hope that doesn't happen, though).
I've tried this guide, but t doesn't help. (yes .xap).
Head to Settings > Update & Recovery and tap on “For Developers“
You will find three options here. Choose the second one which lets you sideload apps from other sources.
Next, transfer/copy the appx file of the app to your Phone/SD Card storage.
Browse to the file via File Explorer, tap on the file and it will throw an install prompt.
If you really want to give it a try, tap Install else tap cancel.
If all goes well, you will find the app under the app list under 20 sec.

And this:
Head to Settings > Update & Recovery and tap on “For Developers“.
Under Device Portal, turn on remote diagnostics over USB and LAN connections.
You can either turn off Authentication or turn on it. Turning it off eases things a little bit.
After turning remote diagnostics On , It will provide an IP Address to connect to.
Enter that IP address either in W10 Mobile Edge browser or any PC Browser(depends on where you have appx to install). Make sure your phone is unlocked.
After authenticating to device portal page click Apps Section on the Top Left hand Side.
Under the Install App division Click Browse to select the Appx/Appxbundle you are about to install.
After adding the Appx/Appxbundle just Click “Go” button and that’s it.If all goes well you can find your app under app list.

That may be the problem?
You can't install xap by this way.
You must use
XapDeploy.exe from SDK 8.0 (xap 7.0, 7.1, 8.0)
or
AppDeploy.exe from SDK 8.1 (xap 8.1)
Thanks, now i'm happy
