i317m on T-Mobile, "Apn protocol" greyed out and locked to ipv4 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hi there, I've searched and come up empty handed so maybe someone here can help me. I have an unlocked and rooted i317m running 4.4.2 I'm using on t-mobile. I'm trying to optimize the APN settings but the APN protocol has been greyed out and locked to ipv4. Is there any fix for this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ive tryed both and it really doesn't help to if you don't have a good router

Have you tried creating a new APN vs editing an existing one?

Thanks for replying. Yes, I tried creating a new one and the protocol is grayed out there as well.

My hunch would be to look into the applied CSC and see if there's something about that in there.

I'm not on rempuzzle rom, however there should be an option under wireless and network - data - ...( don't remember well where is it) with the settings of your network access point of your carrier: just look if they are here or not
i went in Wireless & Networks>Mobile networks>Access point Names(I guess thats what APN is, right??)..
But there is nothing in it..
On pressing Menu i get 2 options "New APN" and "Reset to default"
What do i do??

Unlock After Credo Flash?

Hey guys. I'm just checking this out for a friend of mine who has one we think is the Sprint version of the Galaxy S III. This phone has been flashed for use with the Credo carrier instead of Sprint. She's wanting to switch carriers to Ting, but those guys told her you cannot reflash a phone once its been set up for use on Credo.
I've found the instructions here for unlocking the Sprint version of the Galaxy S III so it can be used with any carrier.
Can anyone tell me if that procedure will work if the device's radio is flashed for Credo as opposed to Sprint? It seems like the procedure would be identical, but I haven't messed with this sort of thing before.

Sure didn't My friend with the phone that is "locked" to Credo is getting a new phone and then the phone that needs the flash will become her backup device, and then she's OK with me messing with it. I'll post my results over here once I have some...

Broken carrier, which ROM?

This is pretty basic, but I can't find a answer anywhere, I'm sure I'm just not searching it right, but anyway I bought a rooted SGH-I317 with t-mobile as my carrier, with Android 4.1.2, on Clean ROM 3.3. I've done a cwm back up, but when I pick a new ROM will I choose a t-mobile version ROM since I'm on their network or a SGH-I317 ROM? And thnx in advance for any help you can give

Hello, and welcome to XDA!
Please wait while I connect your question to this forum (where your device experts can be found):
> AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II > AT&T Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Note that to respond to replies, you will need to create an XDA account.
Also, I am confident that flashing a T-Mobile ROM on an AT&T device (since the model numbers are quite different) will have dire consequences.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
Hello I sent that question last night before I made a account here so I'm putting a name with this question so if you can help, and maybe even offer up some suggestions of which ROMS run cross platforms it would be greatly appreciated. Thnx again
You can use ROMs for T889 (T-Mobile), I317 (ATT), or N7105 (international?) do NOT flash a ROM if it has a modem with it that isn't what your specific device is (I317). Majority of the ROMs already have the modems stripped out so they can be universal for the three devices just read the details of the thread by the poster of the ROM.
Thnx for your help! I read in another post that if you install a new ROM with a updated boot loader you can't revert back, that won't affect me re-installing my cwm back up if I were to flash either dn4, cyanide, resurrection remix and something went wrong? I currently have I317ucalJ2 boot loader. Once again thnx for anyone's help they can offer me.
