Help needed. - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

i was attempting to install a custom boot animation and in the process ended up deleting 3 important files . My tablet still works, but now it won't show a boot animation and it wont go into sleep mode when the power button is pressed. If someone can load the 3 files onto the internet somewhere for me to download I'd be really grateful.
The files are located under system (not sys) and then media.
The files were called Disconnected.qmg, but sadly I forgot the names of the other 2. I know they both start with boot and the second one has loop at the end of it. They are both .qmg files. Any help is much appreciated.
If anyone knows of another way to fix this then please tell me. Thanks to those who help!:victory:

Thank you so much! You wouldn't happen to have the original bootanimation.zip file as well?

I don't fully understand. Do you want this for phone bootup, instead of the Xperia-Thingy?

Okay, so it should be right there when you turn on the phone just instead of the logo? Are you aware of the fact that animation is not possible at this stage, so it would have to be a still image? If that's what you want, I might create it for you.

I think thats what he is looking for. In the quoted thread is a boot image, too. No animation.
I like the idea of such a bootscreen .
Okay, I'll do it for ya. DO you want HTC Logo or SE Logo or both or none?

Yo this is for you. Unpack and put in \Windows\ folder, replacing the existing file (Use Resco Explorer for this). Make sure you have a backup of the original.

I "developed" it for R2A official ROM. Not sure about your ROM. I haven't even tried it on my phone myself. What do you see when you boot your phone (Directly at the beginning!)? SE logo?
As far as I know you have to add your boot screen (green se logo on default) to your Rom *.nbh file before you flash ist.
With a simple file replacement you can change the green windows boot/ welcome screen. Look in the splash screen thread from gtrap . I think I'll replace the windows one with the bios splash. easier^^

I see your point but you're wrong. ActiveSync and normal file explorer will prevent you from replacing the fiel because it's "part of the ROM". But that's just a sort of file attribute, like read-only. Using Resco Explorer you can easily replace it. I think the other ROM just has the pic remapped to another location or something. But of course you can use it instead of the Windows Picture if you like. But I think this one's PNG and probably the size is different, so just make sure you adjust this. Otherwise it's no problem, it's just not very logical to show BIOS info when the phone has already booted (Almost)
Thank you very much for your help, but this is not what i've requested, i want one for XPERIA just like the one for Touch HD (link in the first post), and yes it is a *nbh that you have to flash, and it replaces the SE logo bootscreen(the first thing that shows up on your phone when you switch it on) not the green windows mobile.

because it really is part of the bootloader, ie the bit the loads the operating system..
So if you copy across a file to /windows it wouldn't be accessible till the OS loads.
here's the linky to DIY it

Hi,
Just to confirm what I am reading, this is just a .bmp replacement for the boot screen correct? It does not actually show the radio, ram, memory, ROM version, etc that is read from the device like a regular bios boot screen?
thanks

[Q] Splash Screen

Hey I need help locating where the Rogers splash screen logo is. I unpacked the kernel and looked through it but there were no .rle files in it. I also unpacked a custom kernel that I downloaded form here and still found nothing. The phone is awesome there's nothing else in it, that's all that's left for it to be debranded.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
i think its /system/media/bootanimation.zip
No, he is no talking about the boot animation, he is talking about the boot logo.
Anyway, I also have interest on this, if any dev (Maybe dman) could help us out, I would be really thankful.
Likewise, if I could change to either a blank screen or a Samsung logo, you would not be able to tell it's a ROGERS phone. For such a small phone, it packs a punch!

That's exactly what I would like to do, Samsung Boot Logo, and, maybe Galaxy Nexus Boot Animation, or even no Boot Animation at all XD
i have tried almost everything i know, but its pretty different with phone, usually its in boot.img but i dont have a boot.img and the stock rom i have dont have it included. i also tried the kernel but no luck there.. or i maybe doing it all wrong! any help?????

I'm just going to wait until the dev releases the new version with this:
Automatic script to change boot splash in a kernel with your favourite png file

Or maybe when ICS it's released I'll just use a Linux USB with "Save" option, and do the whole f*cking process XD
But, if somebody have the time, and want to try this out now, let me suggest a Samsung Logo, white letters, and black background, simple and classic.
bump anyone?
please help. im looking to remove the rogers logo too. i need to know in which partition its in. help please! ^_^

Flash the rom in general section and you get the multi view mod too!
I have all my system files deodexed. However I have a small theme applied. You could flash my deodex files to have a phone again.
solved!

Q. How to change boot logo gal tab 3 7.0?

Can someone please help with changing BOOT LOGO (the Samsung Image before boot animation) for Galaxy Tab 3 7.0?, I already rooted the tablet and changed boot animation. I search this forum but haven't found a way to do it for this specific tablet. Thank you in Advance.
Tyl
Are you talking about (this is on my tab) the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 just after you push the power button? I think only a special rom can do it but it is what it is. You can change the lock screen via the Set Wallpaper from the menu key.

My tablet is rooted, I already changed the boot animation myself but just don't know how to change the Samsung Galaxy 3 boot logo (the image appears right when you turn on the tablet.)
Does anyone know? thanks
That's the kernel logo. Some custom kernels have a custom logo.

Concur. That logo is buried deep into the very basic start-up functions of the OS. A special rom would take care of that.

what if I want to add my own picture in there? is there a way to do it? I'm not super tech savy but if you can point/give me proper instructions, I probably can do it..
Thank you
You would have to go over to the Developer's forum and look for Kernels and Roms. I do not know how to change the initial splash screen, only the lock screen.

yeah man.. it took me forever to find out a way to change boot animation since the tab 3 7.0 has .qmg files.
Make sure you have your tablet root.. and use root explorer to go under the system/media folder you have to rename 2 of the bootanimation files.. bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg to bootsamsung.qmg.bak and bootsamsungloop.qmg.bak
Then go to this thread here and see how you can make/extract these 2 files based on your custom image that you want to put in. make sure
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2727467 in this thread make sure you get the right files out. which is bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsunglogo.qmg
get those 2 files and copy it from your computer to your sdcard, then use root explorer and copy those 2 new qmg files you just created from your sdcard into your tablet system/media folder.

I haven't tried that method yet because it's for HTC phone, not sure if it works the same for Samsung. Any thoughts?
I have looked in boot.img ramdisk and dumped all jpgs from the param partition and have yet to find the actual splash logo. There were a couple jpgs in the param that looked like the right one, but when I edited them and pushed the new param, nothing changed.

[Q] Verizon Boot Animation [VK 810]

I just opened another thread regarding the Menu/ Settings button not working in apps and the home screen.
I'm trying to unroot my G Pad and replace it for a new one at Verizon.
However, i changed the Verizon boot animation to a Android one through PIMP-MY-ROM.
Now i'm trying to change it back but it can't find it, etc.
I was wondering if anybody could help me put it back to the Verizon boot animation.
I'm really new to this so I'm having a very hard time.
Thank you in advance.

Here's on and off animations in one archive, just unzip it and copy to /system/media/ and set appropriate permissions.
