[Q] Launch YouTube Player from embedded video? - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

YouTube player rocks. Embedded videos suck. Is there a way to launch an embedded YouTube video in the YouTube player? An apk perhaps? Clicking the YouTube icon on an embedded video just launches it in the browser which is the same problem.
I don't see any way to make the YouTube player the default for playing YouTube videos either.

what kind video does nexus play? I tried a avi file, it days there is a problem playing the file, would not open.
I'm wondering this as well. I have all my movies ripped as avi and wanted to put one movie on my device just in case I'm somewhere I can't stream. Apparently takes MP4, H.264, H.263 so we'll have to re-rip for the wider screen. I bought DVD Catalyst 4 for ~$10.
I use mx video player to play avi&wmv files. You have to use the software setting to play the videos correctly.
DICE Player for me, works 100% for everything I throw at it.
dice player is for trial 3 days.
rock player lite works. I tried avi, flv, both playing fine.
I could not find the menu in mx player.
why default built in video player can't play any video?

[Q] Movie and Video Playback

Is it possible to watch movies and other videos that I have that are in the iTouch format? (ex, Avatar)
I can't seem to find a good program that will convert the video file, I saw that Dvd Video Soft (which I've been using for years) has a preset for video to Sony for the Xperia Play 4g (mine is a 3g R800x- Verizon)
Ive looked through the search feature and haven't seen anything.
Edit: found MoboPlayer works to play my movies without need for conversions
This can be closed/ locked.
I recommend MX Player over MoboPlayer, it works a bit better and has cleaner interface. For some video you have to switch between hard and soft decode.

Wondering if there is video player providing the same feature?

[Q] Video Question

Is there any way to add additional codecs on to the stock video player?
If not, is there another video player that would work like the stock video player that could shrink the video player on to home screen for multitasking purposes?
The reason is that I have a lot of mkv and rmvb videos, and don't really want to go through the hassle of coding all of them.

The best one at the playstore is MX Player Pro, I think it even plays more formats than
the stock video player and it looks almost the same but it has a lot more features on options.
The MX Player Pro does have a different codec for different phones,
if I recall it automatically downloads/install the correct one.
It plays mkv, rmvb and just about any and all other formats.
I never found a video which it cannot play.
Here is the playstore link so you can check it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad&hl=en
Its really excellent.

I've been using MX Player Pro too, just that I want to be able to really utilize Note 3's multi tasking features more. The Note 3's video player has a pop out feature when it'll shrink and continue playing on your home screen while you do other stuff. Just wondering if there's any other video player that could do that too.

Video player of Samsung is best?

While trying out the display resolutions, I noticed that playing the same video on mx player and Samsung's default player has a difference in quality.
You can access Samsung's player if you play the video from the gallery app. It just looks better. Unfortunately, gallery will show an thumbnail of the video so it's hard to tell which video it is if you have a lot.
Anton he will have notice this?
There is app called Video, it works like gallery, but only displays videos/movies and lists them with a name underneath. I would be completely lost without it. I also use Samsung player for mostly everything, but there are some specific audio or video codecs that Samsung player doesn't work with, so I also installed VLC as back up. I have not come across video VLC wasn't able to play yet.
