Just got my G3 a couple days ago and have been going through and slowly getting it set up how I like it.
I just noticed today that many of the icons in the app drawer are "generic" android icons?
All the main apps: Phone, Email, Contacts, etc.
Anyone else have this problem? Is it common? is there a fix?

Hello all,
this is my first post here in Z1C section, just bought it a few days ago. I have an issue with calendar notifications or at least I think it shouldn't function like this. Before I was using HTC Desire Z with various custom roms (Cyanogen, Slim ROM, etc) and didn't face that issue
The problem is that if I have some events planned, after the timing of the event passes, notification disappears or maybe only last one is visible (earlier one becomes replaced by current)
While using Desire Z I could always see in notification bar information with all current and earlier calendar notifications (even if it was from for example 2 days earlier) and I could browse through them until I dismissed / edited / deleted (or whatever) any of them.
(one notification with current reminder, underneath a message that there are for example 5 more reminders)
Is this normal behaviour, do you also this issue? Is there any fix to have that functionality on Z1C or do you have any idea what could cause this? I'm using latest 14.3.A.0.757 compilation from Sony, phone is rooted.
I would like to stay (at least for now) with original firmware. If you use custom rom and do not face this issue that would be a major point for me to consider switching I guess
Thanks in advance for any input on this!
ps. I have also tried a few other apps including Google Calendar, Cal: Any.do, problem occurs with every one of them.
Expired events ARE visible, more than last one, they only are in dimmed grey text color.
Would be good to be able to modify those colors, but I can live with it as is.
It isn't a direct solution, but maybe you'll find this app useful: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2969613
Thank you for your input on the matter. I switched to Business Calendar few months ago, multiple notifications work flawless there. Also this is the best calendar app that I've found so far and I highly recommend it.
Which exactly?
There are more than one on Google Play.
Hello. I don't own the M8 but, an E8. I've noticed something. The app icons(Chrome, Gmail etc) in the square folders in Sense 6 have jagged edges(i.e no anti-aliasing). Is there anyone else who has noticed the same?
Anyone else notice that to do list widgets don't always update/work? AnyDo & Wunder
I was using anydo for a while but noticed the widget doesn't always work and update. Meaning the list isn't there or deleted items are still on it and if you click on the add to do button nothing happens.
So I decided to try Wunderlist and the same thing is happening.
Can this be an issue with 6.0? The to do widgets seem to be the only ones giving me any issues.
I'm experiencing the same issue. Opening the app fixes it, but that defeats the point of widgets. What launcher are you using? (I'm on Nova.)
Hi all,
New to the forum, so be gentle!
I just unpacked and configured my new S9+. One issue is that the Icon Frames-Icons only option only works with particular apps (this was not an issue with the S8). Specifically, I notice that certain apps (Google Voice, Google Calendar, Gmail) all have that ugly white border around them. I scoured the internet and couldn't find a fix. Does anyone have guidance on how to remove these borders? Thanks in advance!
Coming from the S7, I noticed the same issue: some icons are displayed as the setting imply, others are not. I didn't have this problem on my S7: all icons were borderless. I tried turning the setting on/off, restarting the phone with no success. It must be the themes app.
It is not the themes app and restarting the phone won't work.
This is a feature of Oreo. Most icons now follow certain design guides for symmetry including all google apps.
It might be so, but not all Google apps follow this new "feature" of Oreo. For example: Maps, Docs, Slides, Hangouts, Translate don't have the border.
Thanks, all. Is the only way to adjust the appearance to use something like Nova Launcher?
I'm seeing the same issue coming from a S7, doesn't look like my wife's S8 has the problem either.
I noticed this too, how can I restore the default icons, I was messing with the themes and lost them?
Hi, recently Nova launcher was updated.
Until now, I have used the list type in the app drawer and the apps were seperated into groups by the first letter of the app.
After the update the apps are still ordered alphabetically, but there's no seperation like before.
I tried messing with the settings and nothing I tried seems to do the trick.
Anyone knows how I can do this? (If it's still possible).
Thanks!
