Hey Guys..
I recently purchased an SHV-E250K phone from Korean.
Everytime i boot it up, it shows that Olleh Logo, instead of the samsung logo
Looking around i found out that it is "still locked by a contract for one of the korean mobile providers"
I dont know if thats try or not, but some apps that i have on my phone, still display korean language, even though i was able to change the default language and keyboard to English US
I currently live in the Netherlands, so when i try and access my voicemail from the Dialpad, the icon of the tape or wheel (or whatever u call it) next to the number 1, is not there. So when i keep pressing the number 1 button, it asks me to create a speed dial shortcut thing. I know it should ask me to enter my VM number, but it doesnt in my case
In relation to that, when i receive a call, and i reject the call, it automatically hangs up on the caller, not forward the caller to my VM
i have been struggeling with this for almost a month now (since i got the phone), i even emailed samsung support in Korea, they cant help.
I was able to root the phone successfully, no issues there, and i was able to install triangle away, and all that good stuff, but for the life of me, i cant find anywhere to fix the issue that i have.
i am really desperate to get this fixed, so any help on how to get rid of this whole crappy OLLEH thing on my phone, i would greatly apprecaite it.
thanks
Thanks
I've been working with an Olleh E250K in the US for a while. I had to unlock it and this worked for me.

Thanks for the info. But what I found out is that the phone was already unlocked, just it had that olleh stupid rom that displayed their logo at boot up. I managed to get rid of it by installing another rom. But the issue still is that I cant reject calls and get them to vm. Instead it hangs up on the caller. Still reaserching a solution for that.
Does urs do the same?
Sent from my E250K usind xda-developers app.
any feedback is highly appreciated.. This issue is driving me nuts now

Have you solved this yet?
When you root your device you can change it to anything you want. it's call Bootloader Animation.
There are some apps on the Play Store that will do this, and some guides online for how to make your own.
I changed mine to the game Portal boot animation instead of the olleh logo.
I, on the other hand, am in the situation you thought you were in. I have a Note 2 SHV-E250K that is SIM locked, and I need it unlocked before I leave for the USA (in 2 months from now).
any ideas on how to do this?

I tried your link, but it seems to be non-existent now. I also searched on the unlocksamsungonline site, as well as others, and I cannot seem to find the Note ii Korean olleh model on any of them. And sorry to contradict you, but I found rooting it to be very easy with CF Auto Root.
Might you or anyone else have some suggestions or advice for how I can Unlock the SIM and whatever else I need to do to prepare my Note2 for use in the USA?
Thank you in advance!

hey man..
no I have not solved it yet.. still with the VM issue, everything else is working/fixed
when I bought by phone from Korea, it was already unlocked, so unlocking this baby would be out of my knowledge.. sorry man
I heard though.. the K model, like urs and mine, are the most difficult to unlock in comparison to the S and the L
on a side note.. do they sell over there the digitizer and screen for the K model?
thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by digitizer, nor which location? from fixing a friend's iPhone, i remember that term being used for screens, which was her (my friend's) issue. I did a google search, and the wacom S-Pen came up it digitizer as well. If you are talking about Korea as the location, and the digitizer is, or it for S-Pen? then yes. a replacement for a cracked screen? I'm 99% sure they do. Screen protector? of course. if it was made for the samusng phone, it can easily be found in Korea at both the samsung service centers and the private fixing shops.
As for your boot animation logo;
Is your phone rooted?
- if yes, then download a Boot Animation app from google Play store, and choose one you like. most of the apps will work automatically. the samsung file system is slightly different than other android phones, so consistency is not guaranteed.
- if still yes, a second alternative is to make and inject a boot animation yourself. this guide should help get you started http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1971828
-if no, then get it rooted so you can do these things. CF Auto Root worked best for me. find your device model here http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ download the .tar and flash with Odin.
assuming you are in the USA, do you think an AT&T store or Sprint or (etc...) can unlock it for me when I arrive?

location I am referring to, you are in seoul
Digitizer, is what every phone has.. you have the screen, and right below it is the digitizer. For our phones, if you will replace the screen, you would have to replace the digitizer also (which normally are glued together)
my screen is cracked, and I need the screen with the digitizer. The Samsung repair place her say they don't have the digitzer/screen for my phone because the K model has the tv antenna, and it is only for the Korean model. The European model (I live in the Netherlands) does not have that antenna
as for the bootanimation.. that was fixed long time ago.. it was part of the ROM.. Stupid Olleh company added it as part of the ROM
So that got fixed, I now have the stock Samsung bootanimation, and the ROM is all English, nothing is Korean. Except that my phone is Korean
The issue I am having still is the voicemail forward when I reject the call.
I tried everything.. but that's cool.. I am getting close of finding a resolution to fix this issue.. That's why I waited that long and search all over this forum until I found a lot of answers to my questions, including for the issue that I am having
in regards to the digitizer/screen
they told me here that the only way is to get that kit from korea.. is there a way for you (since you are in Seoul) to find out for me please which place has those and if they would ship internationally ?
Thanks

Ah ok, I fully understand now.
Sorry I'm unsure of how to get the voicemail to work... I'm usually good at those kinds of things, but I haven't needed voicemail here, so i have yet to experience that...
Yes there are many locations that sell the screen and digitizer, shipping internationally is the hard part...
I think one of your best options would be to checkout a website called GMarket (korean version of amazon, has an english translation) im pretty sure they ship internationally, some of it is still in korean... you might need the help of a korean.
Another one is auction.co.kr but this one is all on korean last time i saw it.
Next time i head to an electronics market here, i'll ask for you and post back here if they can ship it to you.
thank you.. I will try those site, and I appreciate it if you can please, about checking an electronic store, or even a Samsung repair center.. just to make sure to get an original part for the phone, if you know what I mean
thanks

Hi, I hope this helps... I think you can flash at&t roms to shv e250s/l/k provided that you also flash JS kernel.
I can't post the link, but you can go ahead and google it.
Sent from my SHV-E250K using xda app-developers app
not just the sj kernel, but you CANT flash the modem, otherwise you will brick the phone.. so you would need to choose NO for modem

Hey guys, I won a G4 trial edition (input jealousy here) and it's been great, but I am having issues with SmartWorld. When I try to download something, for instance a theme, it says my device is not supported. Has anyone else had this issue? Or maybe its just because I have the trial unit?
I also have a trial edition and am unable to install anything from Smartworld. Actually, United States isn't even an option for me to select either lol. I'm guessing because it's not officially release yet here?

I have the International H815 (recently purchased from reputable seller) and have the same issue. It seems that Smartworld detects the IMEI or model number and then doesn't even give an option for the US and I can't find any way around that.

i live in greece and had no problem to register.i just choose united kingdom.the trick for me was to give my google mail(.com) and not my yahoo mail(.gr).when you open the app through the phone go and choose a theme, the app will ask you to sign in but just under t there are 3 option.the one i choose was to create a new acount.then a screen popped out with region(europe, asia etc) i choose europe, after that united kingdom.i endered my google account and then a message came asking me to verify the account through my e-mail.just to inform you there tons of apps and things to see in there.i was 3 hours playing with this smartworld.
I registered my H815 for smart world using my gmail account ( I live in Ireland) and when I tried to download a theme it persistently comes up with "unsupported country". I've contacted LG customer support who replied quickly looking for me to confirm my imei, place of purchase etc then a day or so later another response saying how strange this is and that they have escalated the problem to tech dept but have heard nothing since..........The saga continues!
When (if) I receive any further information from LG I'll update here.
Cheers.
Eoin.
Same problem. Asks to log in before downloading. Then gives "unsupported country".
Any ideas guys?

I have H815 and I'm in Argentina. I brought my LG in USA; it's the international version. It's working perfectly fine, but the Smart World application does not have Argentina as a country option, so I cannot use it, which is strange anyway because the phone operators already offer the G4 in country...any though?

My G4 died on me due to the bootloop issue and, as of now, LG will not fix it since it's an international edition. I was able to get smartworld to work. I registered with a different e-mail address and chose a different country (I believe I chose Korea). I was sent the verification e-mail then went into smartworld and I could get fonts and everything else that was there. The only thing is that some of the menus are in Korean so I just clicked until I saw something I wanted.
Hey folks,
I bought an S7 Active from eBay and I'm using it in Ireland. Everything is working fine that I need, but my carrier recently introduced WiFi Calling and upon trying to set it up from the setting menu where it reads
"wifi calling lets you make and receive calls over wifi with your at&t accoumt. when you use wifi calling, information about the country where the wifi connection is made will be sent to your carrier. Learn more about wifi calling (link).
GET STARTED"
I get the following error:
"Wifi Calling activation not successful, try again later"
I rang support for my carrier and they think it's something to do with the handset. They support the S7 and the S7 Edge but as the S7 Active is an AT&T exclusive and appears to have custom AT&T software, it seems like it might be trying to connect to AT&T and it can't?
Also, when I check for software updates, it says AT&T Software Update at the top of the screen, now this doesn't give any errors and it says software up to date, so I'm not sure if this is correct or if there's new software out that it can't connect to update?
Is there any way around this? I know maybe it's possible to ROOT and install a new ROM, but I'd rather avoid that hassle..
Any feedback would be great
I am in the same situation. S7 Active unlocked from EBAY, and using it in Czech Republic with Vodafone sim. Is here chance to get OTA Nougat update?
I'm using one in Canada and flashed the updates described in another thread in this phone's forum. They will reset your phone to factory, but you will have 7.0 nougat and security patches into April, 2017. I doubt any kind of OTA will be forthcoming unless you have an ATT SIM, but I'm not an expert in this at all. I plan on keeping good backups and flashing the updates as they become available. Aside from that, it's a great phone. If they make the s8 active global, then I'll look into getting one some time down the road.
Thanks for the replies. Does the S8 have an active version? I hadn't heard anything on it yet?
so when you flash nougat 7, does it completely wipe and install a new ROM on your phone, or it just updates the AT&T rom, so even with the update, you're still bound to the AT&T settings for updates/wifi calling etc?
Yes, it wipes out the phone completely, you'll have to set it up again. Everything else is same, such as AT&T bloats, wifi calling etc.
Ok thanks for letting me know. So no point I guess if it doesn't solve the issue
I live in Czech Republic. In situation, when I will buy prepaid sim card from AT T, and I will use it in my unlocked S7 Active, it is possible to get OTA Nougat update?
That's not a bad idea, would possibly work for the OTA update, but maybe not if it's not actually connected to AT&T?
It wouldn't work for the wifi calling though I'm sure?

I'm in Edmonton AB, Yes, there will be nothing for updates or WiFi calling if you are not on the ATT network with their SIM.
Which ROM did you update to, the QD4, or past it?
Keep it rolling
I'd love to know more about using the S7 Active internationally from anyone who has been down that road already. In the UK and considering getting one from Ebay but I would immediately want to update it to Nougat and I'm unsure if this will be possible? I have a Mac laptop in the house and would hope to use that to apply any upgrades. Really appreciate any info you guys have!

ODIN is only available for Windows (Vista/7/8/10). You will have to run Wine for just the Odin program or Boot Camp for the full Windows OS in a partition.
Wine is the easiest solution, start there and install the program, USB drivers.

I to am in the UK and purchased a S7 Active from Ebay. The phone came in a sealed box and worked fine. No AT&T logo at startup or bloatware. However when I rebooted the phone after switching of, an integrity error came up which forced me to wipe/erase the phone. I thought maybe a first time glitch but it did it again and all was lost. Had my old S4 Active so persevered and read info on this post to reflash firmware to QB2 using ODIN. Now note this is the first time i have ever attempted anything like this so complete newbie. However all went well and I now have a phone on Nougat. It reboots without error now. But it is now back to AT&T with logo at Startup and US voice for google navigation etc... Google pay now does work though. I am pleased with my results but would love to have firmware that makes it non AT&T specific for use in the UK, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Hello fellas(and ladies)
I have a Samsung Galaxy S9, from t-mobile, dark blue. I've locked myself out of the device, and I have a friend that is going to help me get it back working. In order for him to be able to help me, he needs to know the model number. I know it's a SM-G960.. but how do I determine the exact model (i.e. sm-g960f, sm-g960e, etc). I'm unable to login to the phone so I cant check it like that, and the back cover is sealed on there as you know unless you have the tools to remove the cover (which I don't). Is there another way to find out which model it is, like download mode or recovery mode or something? Thanks for taking the time to read this, and for your advice.

You just keep locking yourself out of devices don't you....
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/help/galaxy-j7-g-oogle-verification-issue-t3852720/
Well one thing you can do is reset your Google password on a computer then try to login again after 24 hours. Surely you have a recovery email address which you can use?
This is Samsung's instructions on what to do:
If you already reset your device, but don't remember your Google username and/or password, the device can't be used. In that case, you can do one of these:
If you know your Google username but can't remember the password, you can reset your password on the device, or at www.google.com. It can take up to 24 hours for a new password to sync with all registered devices. After 24 hours, you can try logging in to your phone with the new password.
If you have multiple Google Accounts, and you can't remember which Google Account you set up on your device, visit https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager.
Log in with your Google username and password and check the list of devices registered to the account. If you don't see the device listed on the account, it means the device is registered to a different account. Use the same process to check for devices linked to your other Google Accounts. When you find the registered account, use it to log in to your device.
If you can't remember any of your Google Account information, you can send your device, along with proof of purchase, to an authorized Samsung Service Center. Samsung has special tools to reset the phone to factory defaults with no protection enabled.

It seems dodgy to me that you posted a topic pretty much asking the same thing about a month ago regarding a totally different phone here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/help/galaxy-j7-g-oogle-verification-issue-t3852720/
FRP is there to prevent lost/stolen phones from being used, if you've bought a phone that is FRP locked you should take it up with the seller. Not try to break the lock yourself!
