I'm satisfied with my little Wildfire, but I can't really use it without a serious lag because of the I/O wait of the SD caused by Link2SD. If I could replace the flash chip to a 2 GB one, I could use it as it was a new phone.
Can someone help me? Is it possible at all? If yes, which models are supported? Is it easy accessable & desolderable?
Thank you very much!

hi everyone!
I got one Tytn where the USB port don't work at all, it's broken totally.
Is it possible to flash his ROM without connecting to PC? How?
I do the research but I didn't found anything.
please help
thanks in advance
actually, I found similar topic for HTC Diamond. Does anyone know is it the same with HTC Tytn? How to upgrade ROM only from Internal Storage?
I don't think that there's a method to flash from internal storage but you can flash a new rom using an SD card.
That method is explained in the wiki right here. I use it all the time because I use linux and I'm too lazy to dual boot to windows just to flash a rom.
Out of curiosity, if the usb port is broken, how do you recharge the device?
well, I have mine Tytn that I use for charging and I have 3 batteries: old one, new and one from that broken Tytn
thanks for replying, that's exactly what I needed.
Hi all,
I used to be on here all the time with my Windows 6 phone, but have been using Android for the last 18 months and have been extremely pleased - so no need to come on here!
Now, though, like many people no doubt I have become frustrated by the lack of space for apps on my Desire!
My ONLY requirement is to have more space for apps; I have no particular wish to change anything else, as I am more than happy; Soooo, which is the best way for me to go? Do I need to root and flash a custom ROM? Or is there a way of achieving what I want more simply? I should say I have used Apps2sd etc, and I am still short.
Any advice welcome!
Stuart

You will need to root and flash a custom ROM - to get A2SD or Data2ext working.
Then you'll have a lot of space on your Desire.
You'll need to install a ROM with A2SD or Data++ this will extend the internal memory to the SD card.
THIS tells you how to do everything.
Ok I am sure this has been posted here many times. The OS for the wildfire s is one big piece of crap to say the least. I want to install a custom OS that will allow me to put apps and games on the sd card instead of the internal memory. I would just like to be in full control of the OS of which I am not now. What is the simplest and best way to achieve this. I have read several things but not exactly sure what to do. I would like to know what the best software to use that also has a good tutorial for it as well. My wife has had this htc wildfire for just over a month and the internal storage full has been on for weeks. This must be one of the most poorly designed phones I have ever seen. It has all kinds of crap on the phone that my wife will never use. I was also curious as to what software would be could to view the internal memory of the phone with my pc, or can you even do this with the standard OS installed on the phone. I would greatly appreciate any helpful input concerning my questions and thank you kindly.

-How to S-OFF CDMA phones
-How to root your phone and install custom Clockwork recovery
-Using DATA2SD, DATA2WHATEVER, APPS2SD, or my favorite LINKS2SD

That should get you going.
Thank you very much sir. Looks like I have quite a bit of reading ahead of me before I will be attempting anything. LOL

Hi,
I wanted to ask you how it is possible to do the custom partition of the internal memory. I did with my ZTE Blade but now I would like to do it aslo with Wildfire S but I did not find any tutorial how to do it with this phone. Could you please send me the link how to do it or to post a tutorial? I was trying to find it but either Im blind or its just nowhere.
Thank you
Hi all,
My girlfriend has the unlocked stock Wildlife S and she loves it! But, she is having trouble updating and installing apps on the phone, it keeps on saying 'insufficient memory'. She has a 2gb sd card and doesn't have a lot of apps on the phone or sd card, she has transferred as many apps as she can to the card.
Anyone able help me?
Regards,
David
because the apps to sdcard, but the data and cache still in internal
memory.you can flash recovery, and then flash custom rom, partion your sd
card and then flash data2sd.you can change the memory to 512M or 1G.
Or, if she doesn't want to change anything (mine didn't wanted too, i know the drill...), since you are already unlocked you could just root your phone with unlock root http://www.unlockroot.com/, supertool... or something similar, install link2sd and she can transfer all apps (system too) that she wants to the second partition you created for her before all steps mentioned above... (you have nice tut here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432459&highlight=link2sd)
if you don't want to change anything how you fix the problem?

Hi I am just trying to find out if there will be a change or any update from Google when it comes to write and read capabilities of the SD Card anytime soon ? I know it aggravated a lot of people.
I know there is a SDFIX for rooted devices and it does wonders. I thought about rooting my GS4 and read a lot about it.
But I am afraid of bricking my phone. Overall is rooting recommended ? I would love to do that but it scares me a little.
What really pisses me off is that I can't even save pictures on my SD card, which started happening yesterday. Any info is greatly appreciated.
