Sending SMS error - HTC One X

hi. i have a HTC One X from Orange Spain( CID : ORANG309 & version 3.16.75.2 ) running latest nightly from Cyanogenmod 11. I love this ROM but i have a problem and i just don't know how to fix this. i can't send SMS. always it says "error sending sms". i can receive them, but i can't send. so i read on the internet and found something about Voice+ from google. disabled it as that guide which i found said but nothing happened. i still can receive sms but cannot send. last night i found a nandroid backup for my phone cid & version and it reverted my phone to stock android 4.1.1 as i tought the problem would dissapear, but it didn't. so when i saw the stock rom didn't fix my problem i went back to CM11 as it offers me more flexibility. now my question is: can this be a hardware problem ? or something serious ? the thing is that i receive sms, but can't send. is there any solution ? anybody who went through this problem and got it fixed ?
thanks in advance !
LE: i found the problem. lol, silly me. it seems that my phone carriers has 2 SMSC numbers, and it seems i was using the wrong one.

issues sending mms

Hi,
i have an issue in sending mms, i usually use handcent.
If i send an mms from handcent, it will send ok but its not recieved the other end .
if i use the stock htc message option it will not send mms at all (sms are fine on handcent and stock app)
it seems that the only thing i can identify is that 3 of the 4 mms ive tried to send but not recieved are to iphones, the other is a sony ericsson...maybe its an o2 thing ?
anyone else had problems and/or fixes/ideas ?
Cheers
(im also rooted with pauls root rom)
Got the same problem on rooted desire (stock, cyanogenmod).
sending mms fails (on stock rooted rom with 'generic network error' message), on cyano - with no message at all.
Receiving works well. Using stock app on both.
After unrooting desire everything works fine.
APNs settings checked a million times - are exact in each case.

[PROBLEM] Cannot receive VCARD via SMS after ROOT

Yesterday I tryed rooting and everything went ok.
I installed this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773997
Which is new 2.10.405 ROM, just rooted, don't have anything else.
Today at work I noticed that I can no longer receive contacts via SMS, I just get "nullnull" SMS message when someone send's me VCARD via SMS.
I tryed installing new ROM when I got home, this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741755&highlight=Official+htc+froyo
That is older 2.09.405 ROM on which VCARD via SMS worked when I installed it OTA, original, NO ROOT.
Then I though it had to do something with radio image so I tryed installing radio versions:
32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
32.47.00.32U_5.10.05.23
and in the end
32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20
Still cannot receive contact via SMS, just getting "nullnull" SMS message when I try to send it from NOKIA E90.
Did I miss something?
How can I fix it since it's important for me to have that option, which WORKED on 2.2 OTA HTC Desire Froyo 2.09.405.8 and after rooting it's not working any more?
BUMP ... ... ...
vcard + sms never worked on original ROM for Desire..
Vcard worked even on old 1.21.405 but it couldn't be imported. On froyo OTA they fixed it and vcard worked perfect, so let's not go there.
I'm interested in why am I getting «nullnull» instead of vcard text. Since I tried updating rom and radio, and it didn't work, I'm asking is there anything else that can be done to fix it since its probably problem in something that new rom 2.10.405 updated also.

Last BUMP before I give up and go to good old 2.09. OTA UN-ROOTED ROM.
Have you tried doing a full wipe? Rooting alone shouldn't cause something like this.
Not sure how it's done but I whiped data, cache and dalvik cache in recovery. Didn't find anything else there to whipe.
Still not working.
Tryed sending contact from samsung old phone, received blank sms, but same happened on nokia so I'm not worried.
Will wait for unrevoked 3.2 and then revert back to ota unrooted to try if it will happen on unrooted or not.
Can it be kernel or that has nothing to do with it? That's only thing I didn't reinstall.
Yeah ... I've been checking this for a while too ... I noticed that I could no longer receive wap push messages from our mobile content system so I assumed that the module for parsing these binary SMS message has been dropped from the message management of certain roms. Each time I flash a new rom I test to see if someone has bothered to include it again.

Came across something.
While using rooted 2.09.405 ROM I decided to switch mobile network from gsm / 3g to 3g only, and I was able to receive VCARD via SMS, but couldn't send it...
Installed back 2.10.405 and vcard not working any more.
Now I'm switching back and forth roms to see what works and what not...
Sorry, hitching on this thread, I would like to ask..
How do you send vcard + sms on Desire, Android 2.2?
Thanks!
Go to contacts (People), press and hold on contact you want to send, from pop up menu select "send contact" or something like that, and then select to send via SMS.
Concerning my problem...
It has nothing to do with gsm / 3g. It seams Desire is capable of receiving some vcards and not others. Basicly out of 6 random contacts I tryed from my wifes nokia phone, I was able to receive 3 on both roms and 3 other came as nullnullnull or nullnull messages, not really sure why...
Also when sending VCARD as SMS Desire won't send it from first try. Don't know why it just don't even try to send it... But when I click "Retry sending" I send it without problems...
Where can I report that problem?
And is there any solution for this?
I've now reinstalled using using a Pre-rooted Stock Froyo (2.10.405.2) which includes HTC Sense.
See h t t p://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773997
Tested sending WAP Push messages from our CMS and the phone now receives them OK.

[Q] [Fixed] Help! Cannot Send SMS with any ROM!

Hey xda,
My Desire has stopped sending sms's since i installed MIUI-AU 1.6.10 - used many ROMS before but never had this issue.
The first time i switched to MIUI i followed the instruction to flash the corresponding *.DX.zip file before flashing the ROM [see their site] which i did, then flashed the rom - all seemed ok and since then every time i send an sms to any number, from contacts/manually typed or what have you it gives an error - 'message not sent'
Since then, ive switched to the updated MIUI-AU,MIUI 1.6.17 (running currently), RCMix..whatver is their latest build - and im sure the issue will come back with any other rom.
Now obviously following all instructions and all i must have skipped something that is causing this..
Before flashing miui 1.6.17 i wiped everything and my SD card is setup for A2sd with the right partitions and extentions
Im running a CM7 HBoot if that matters.
If anyone has a clue please let me know here - im happy to provide any more information...cheers
Fixed: Guys if you ever get into the Messaging settings>Advanced>SMS Message Centre..don't change the default number stored there - i just called up my provider (Telstra) and they gave me the correct number to use and now everything is back to normal
Did you try to get the settings from your provider? You could try to reset them if you have got an account for the internet portal of your provider. You could also try to call them.
I don't know if you need special settings for every provider, but you can try this.

Thanks for the reply - phones here in AUS will normally get the settings as soon as you insert the SIM card but because i had deliberately messed with the sms message centre number i had to ring them to get that...your post got me thinking what i had changed and it just made sense

[Q] I can't send text messages???

It's been a week now and I still can't send any text messages.
I receive msgs but unable to respond back...
I thought it was because I finally updated to Jellybean (I've had ICS for awhile so I thought I should just stick to that) but then I downgraded last night to ICS and I still can't send messages.
well today I tried fixing it but still no luck, although I tried sending an MMS instead, I sent myself a picture and it worked! even tried it to other numbers and they received it. I also tried adding a text with the picture and it did work. but it's still not working when I just type in a text...
so anyway in short, I can't send SMS but can send MMS (and receive messages as well)
also extra: I can call people but whenever they call me it comes up as unknown number...
and btw I already checked the message centre number and it has the right number in it so I don't think the issues w/ that
Does anyone of you know what might be the problem? How can I fix it? Thanks
Did you flash new modem? Or did you Odin stock 4.1.2?

what does that mean? im sorry im not good at this but well i did something last night, i downgraded back to ICS 4.0.3 (from 4.1.2) using odin
I thought that would resolve the issue since everything occured after I upgrade to jellybean 4.1.2... but im now back to the old version but SMS still wont work. (but I can receive msgs and send a msg if it's MMS, which is very strange)

flash to a 4.1.2 or higher, i would recommend it since you always want to have the newest software since it makes your phone run buttery smooth lol. flash to another rom you want and flash properly! if sms still dont work find a radio zip file you can flash(but make sure its the one right for your rom!) and that should fix it

There's no right or wrong radio for particular roms. If its 4.1.2 or higher, there's only 2. Period. The new T-Mobile and the new Telus. They're the only 2 that work on any JB rom these days.

Well I don't have to now because it's fixed!
There wasn't any issue on my phone........ it was T-mobile all along -__-
I called them this morning and apparently they had my sent messages blocked, and they didn't had any idea why.
So they unchecked it and I can text perfectly fine.
Thanks for trying to help~!
I have this same problem, I'm going to call my service provider soon.

Texts kill network/receives fine

Hello, i recently bought an HTC one M8 off ebay in the knowledge that it was "faulty" the phone however works fine except from sending texts messages.
Whenever i hit send it proceeds to kill the network and then "prepare sim", it does this continuously until i delete the text message, then it runs fine again, i can receive messages fine, use mobile data and even make calls.
I have looked online all day and seen people having the same problem but none of those fixes work, so i wonder if putting a custom rom on may fix it or if its a hardware issue
can i try contact HTC under warranty? the phone is unlocked and i use GiffGaff(UK) sim.
did i take a risk and it not pay off like a fool or is there some fix i cannot for the life of me find.
Thanks for any help
Is the ROM stock ? Is the bootloader LOCKED or RELOCKED ? What is the software version that it's running now ?
Maybe a RUU (if available) can fix it.
Post fastboot getvar all result minus serial & imei no and we'll see what we can do.
Fixed!
Hi, thanks for the reply ^^ but i have fixed it now, i was up until like 3am install Skydragon and it now works.
No idea what was causing the issue but so happy its working
Appreciate your time trying to help :3
