I just have found that recording video in my car with stand on the glass produce extreme distortion from the car vibrations. And my car is not hard on vibrations, and i had no such issue with galaxy S3 with the same stand. I'm on stock, no root latest 10g firmware, any ideas how to fix this?

Today i did some more tests. The problem is there no matter which camera app i use. The problem is also there but less noticeable in the front camera too. What is even stranger is that it did not do it during night recording but only in the day. I have check the battery temp, its not from the temperature.

I just notice that one of the less is not working at all.!!!! I use the flashlight a few times, but no more than 30 seconds each time. The last kernel that I was using is the nertachy 4.1.9
I was using stock froyo btw. I install cm6 again just to se if thatcorrect the problem, but I have the same result. Any suggestions? Thanks
I think you might have a led out. I think i remember seeing on the teardown of the phone that they are wired together. Hence no way to run only one.
Did you try taking a picture and see if both are working?
yes
Yes I did take pictures to test it. And only one led flash. The problem is that I don't have endurance.!!! I only have with the phone like 3 months. Any ideas????

Haha post of the day right here!!
After playing with it for a week now I can more or less confirm that the LED flash in our Note II is not as strong as I had on my S II. The images taken with flash at complete dark is not as bright as before. Say it's decreased by some 20%.
What about you guys? Any workaround or that's how it is?
TIA.
i've still got my sgs2 and i'd say you're right. not a massive difference but enough to notice.
Can you not see it or something? I don't think anyone needs a 1000 watt notification LED, no?
no, but it shouldn't be a downgrade. a pic taken with the sgs2 in low light will be better than the note 2 due to the note not having a bright enough flash. hell, the note 2 might not even take the photo as it could be too dark to focus properly.
it's not huge, but it is an issue.

So it is an issue then. Hardware most probably? They changed the led unit or something?
Sent from my GT-N7100
or maybe the power supplied to it? who knows. either way it's not huge (for me). in 18 months i never took a photo with my sgs2 where i needed the flash so unlikely to bother me. i used it as a torch tbh since i'm weird and don't change lightbulbs in my house
Okay, but it shouldn't be like this. I mean it's a premium phone after all. It should've been as strong as S2, if not stronger.
Btw- When you use it as torch, is it bright enough like S2, or you notice the dimness there too?
Sent from my GT-N7100
that's how i tested it when i read ths thread. there's a diff.
Yup, right. Coming from S3, I can tell that its not as strong as S3 led flash. Not cool at all.. Dont know why Samsung design it this way ? ..

You should probably get it to a computer repair shop or if possible, Samsung. With or without warranty.
You don't wanna mess with the hardware so quickly even if you nearly know what you are doing :good:

For some reason, the flash is not full strength with stock samsung widgets (assistive light) Download app called "led light." Night and day difference.

Correction.. The led flash is very strong. Just use any third party app like tiny flashlight & led and see the difference. Samsung have set it at a lower intensity when used with stock torch widget.

Nope, it's still weaker than S3 or S2. And I don't think the the bright LED which comes out by using a third party app is same when you use it for camera flash, it's always weaker.

So far, after flashing Hypermod rom based on 4.2, the camera flash certainly seems alot brighter than when on sammy roms, I personally think that samsung did this on purpose for whatever reason

i dont its the cpu and phone is pretty good at keeping background apps running to minimum, i am starting to think its a faulty handset because it should just work 100%
also maybe its a software/firmware issue and custom ROM might solve this but i dont know.....

I've been using Hyperdrive ROM for a while and today I noticed that none of the alerts are producing vibration. I thought it might be related to the kernel I installed so I reverted the kernel but that did not fix. So I installed a new ROM (Resurrection) and I still have the same issue.
I installed Vibration tester and I'm still not getting any vibration.
Any suggestion ?

Yes, it's been working fine until few days ago when I noticed that I'm missing calls and texts due to phone not vibrating in my pocket. At first I thought it was a kernel issue (I was using Hyperdrive rom at that time) so I tried different kernel and it did not fix the issue to yesterday I installed KK remix to see if that fixes the issue but had no luck with that either. So at this point I think it might be a hardware issue and the vibration motor is toast. I went ahead and ordered a replacement and will try my luck with replacing the original one.

My brand new HTC 10 does sometime make weird high frequencie noises. I hear this when i put the phones back close to my ear, but not att all times.

Is this the one you are talking about? If so, yes I do have that problem aswell, and didn't notice it until now. So thanks for that But the problem I was talking about is similar but it doesn't come out from the speaker, just the back of the phone. Therefor I believe it might be "coil whine".

Actually It does NOT. I did not think it was the same problem as the one earlier spoken about in this thread but now I do think it is. However, the sound does not come from the speaker, only it is rather easy to hear because of the wholes in the body of the phone. The sound seems to come from slightly below the HTC logo.
Here's the other thread describing the high pitch noise: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/help/whining-noise-speaker-low-brightness-t3376476
Yeah I was going crazy about this until I installed the 1.53 OTA. Completely stopped the noise.
I believe it was something low level that had to do with the display. Probably a kernel fix.

Run a stress test to see if it gets worse. That's when coil whine will be most noticeable. If it does not change in frequency or amplitude, it's not cool whine.

Yes I had the noise on that firmware. If you haven't received update yet, it must not be available in your country just yet.
But don't worry too much, it's not a hardware issue. The 1.53 update fixes it. Don't make the same mistake I did and order a replacement lol.
Your choices are either wait for the update, or unlock your bootloader and flash the 1.53 firmware.

It sounded similar to how lights sound on a dimmer dimmed all the way down. I'm guessing it had something to do with current level supplied to the display, since the higher the brightness, the quieter it gets. I believe electricians call this 'lamp sing'
The more I listened I felt like it was coming from the bottom of the display, near the fingerprint scanner.
Either way just glad they fixed it.
