This thread contains all the information you need, for drivers and twrp. Its very simple to follow.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2800727
If you haven't upgraded your firmware to the latest 2.22.x base you won't be able to flash the latest arhd rom. That thread will walk you through that as well. If your not sure what firmware your on that thread shows you how to check.
You don't NEED s-off for any of this, but it makes upgrading firmware easier. If you don't have s-off you need to relock your bootloader before upgrading firmware.

it doesnt work -.-

What doesn't work

i tried flashing the recovery but it doesnt work
i followed the guide

Provide more information then someone might be able to help, saying it doesn't work is of no use, as it does work, it has for many people.

No idea why it didnt.. i installed the adb think downloaded the recovery went to cmd typed the fastboot flash recovery c:adb\filename.img and it said :"error cant load"
Maybe some Online help like skype or w/e...

Skype won't help if you don't want to give enough info. Seems like you're just giving the least amount detail possible when responding.
Get adb and fastboot setup on your computer. There's a ton of tutorials about this. Just use the internet.
After you've installed those run in terminal (command prompt) "adb devices" to check to make sure it's working. Then in terminal run "adb reboot bootloader". This will boot your device into bootloader (fastboot mode).
Then that's where you type fastboot flash recovery <insert recovovery.img here>
Once that's done type in terminal "fastboot reboot" and you're device will reboot.
Done. You'll have whatever recovery you chose.

Device bricked after adb failure.

For description of the problem. 3rd post.. Please help me since i need to have a working phone before weekend when i'm moving abroad..

your device isnt bricked, people use that term far too indiscriminately!! you just have no rom installed! you cant flash a rom using the standard htc recovery. you have two choices, either put your device in fastboot and flash an ruu or put your device in recovery with the red triangle, and push a custom recovery ........

Hmm okej, well i need to look an RUU file then to see if that works.. I've tried to push files with adb, but since the adb goes haywire when commanding it to push files to the phone and kills itself it seems like I won't be lucky on that front.
I'll try the fastboot method, but if that doesn't work what to do next?
My fault, i have a nonworking desire at the moment and need help to get it working
try this, put your device into recovery and connect your device to your pc, download and unzip the archive below, use a command prompt to navigate to the folder you just unrared, then use the command recovery-windows.bat. that should push a temp recovery to your device, you can now flash a rom

i dont know what else to suggest apart from if you have access to another pc, try on that one with the pushfiles.zip i gave you....also if you have a hboot below 0.85, try flashing an ruu from fastboot like i said before

Fastboot update didn't work, it told me it couldn't update my phone. Don't know if that depends on that i ran image 1.21 and tried to install a 1.15 RUU?
It seems to work now with fastboot and the latest RUU WWE 1.21.405.2
It's flashing at the moment i'm writing this, so thank you and now the thread can be closed.. Looks like i need to root my phone again to get the fully potential out of it.
Thank you for the tips about fastboot and RUU

Stuck on bootloop

If anyone would help me urgently I would really appreciate it
This is what happened, I was trying to installed the 3 dot mod from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582506
I initially got these errors when trying to install it
I tried to use adb remount as it said in the guide but it said
remount failed: operation not permitted
I also tried adb shell sysrw and it gives me the following error
/system/bin/sd: sysrw: not found
I have directed the CMD to the platform-tools directory using CD C:\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools
The phone is switched on and USB debugging is enabled, can anybody tell me what I am missing?
P.S. I am rooted and have got SuperSU installed.
Thanks anyone who helps me!

P.S. I can access Fastboot and Recovery mode, any advise, I don't know what to do, anything would help, I am new to HTC devices :$

ADB still isn't recognized but Fastboot drivers are working, mods could you please close this thread.
P.S. To anyone reading this, I would highly recommend you don't make the same mistake as me and always leave a ClockWorkRecovery Mod backup in your HTC One X (it's only around 900MB) as it's a very annoying process to get it fixed due to lack of external memory and USB mode in recovery.
nps mate just glad to help ^^,

[ ROM ] ?

Hi, i've unlocked bootloader, flashed recovery, rooted my phone now i need to get a good ROM. Can someone please tell me which is the easiest ROM to install without having to go to bootloader unlock, relock it etc...that will be a real pain in the as*.
I don't care which ROM as long as it has a better battery life than original version and solves WI-FI issues..
Thanks
First; try a better thread-name.
Second; I don't know what you mean, if you talk about unlock the bootloader again ..
If you already have done that, why would you need to do that again o0
Try IceColdJelly, it has Android 4.1(.1?), is very smooth and has a very good battery life.
regards

In cmd (on your computer)
Flash the boot.img which you should extract out the Rom.zip you downloaded
Then flash it in fastboot.
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then fastboot clear cache
Then reboot the phone :-
Sent from my HTC One X
You need to flash the boot.img through fastboot. Put the boot.img into your fastboot folder and open a cmd window there. Then boot your phone into fastboot mode and run the commands "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and "fastboot erase cache"

it tells you EVERYTHING you need to know, read through it and other guides.
you are the reason ROM flashing shouldnt be available to everyone, you should have to pass a test first to ensure you know what you are doing and not outsmarted by a tree.

Be nice, this is supposed to be a friendly community. Some people know what they're doing, some have a lot left to learn - rememeber, you were a noob once.
However, on the other hand I have to agree, there are MANY forums and threads which explain the process of flashing a rom, recovery and rooting. There is no excuse not to use your eyes and the search features. Each Rom thread also has installation/flashing guides although very basic you should read anyway to avoid a brick or any other accidents.

S-Off

Hello I have rooted, installed recovery and unlocked bootloader. But now I just need to get S-Off. Can someone help me and say what exactly I have to do?
With the retirement of AAHK, you now need quite a bit of skill to get S-Off. If you really want to try, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2184953.

That has nothing to do with S-OFF. That is because you are not flashing the CM boot.img in fastboot after flashing the rom in CWM. With an unlocked bootloader you need to do that everytime you flash a rom.
You can acquire eng S-OFF quite easily if you use a mirror to get AAHK. Simply download the PD98IMG files manually when the script needs them. Worked for me today.

Phone: DHD, 3.20.502.52, ATT
I have successfully unlocked the phone (via HTCDev)
And have successfully rooted the phone.
I installed the ROM Manager and Titanium Backup.
I have the ADB drivers successfully installed on my computer.
I also have HTC Quick Root running on my computer.
I am NOT able to get the CWM Recovery installed on the phone. I always get a " /cache/data..." error.
I've searched and read a number of threads that have indicated the DHD Gingerbread is particularly difficult to get ROM Manager fully working. I tried the process outlined here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39016279), using the easyunlock tool. the script appears to run fine, i've even gone through the redundant step of putting the unlockcode received from htcdev into the tools directory and allowing the script to complete, which it appears to do fine. However, the script indicates the phone should execute some commands as a final step, at which point my phone is already sitting in the bootloader menu and does nothing.
I'm reasonably comfortable with ADB commands and the terminal emulator on the phone.
Can anyone help me understand why I'm failing and what I might do to get the CWM Recovery installed and get ROM Manager working?

If the Easy Ace Root Tool worked fine, then you should have CWM recovery installed....Rom manager needs you to be rooted to work, but an unlocked bootloader allows you to flash a custom recovery.

[Q] Rooted and S-OFF

OK - I'm a total noob at this - but I'll start off by asking some obvious questions
are you able to do adb devices and see your device? if so, what does it say when you do adb devices?
For a guide to install recovery, i used the guide on phonearena - seemed the simplest and most straight forward. I can't post a link - I'm too much of a noob.

I had the same problem as i used a mac to, still never got around to installing it via fast boot but what i did is install the app "Flashify" on google play and then downloaded twrp 2.7.0.1 onto my phone then flashed a recovery through the app. it worked great but you should still get fast boot working incase your phone messes up in the future and you need to use adb commands or fast boot commands to flash a RUU or something like that.

You need ADB and Fastboot to be working.
I would assume you have them working since you used firewater. Reboot to hboot, then select fastboot. Does it change to say "fastboot USB"? What happens when you execute "Fastboot devices" from the computer?
