Hello everyone,
was anyone able to have google now launcher running on lg g3? I am on art. when i install and select it, it states that I have "home" set as default and should remove it as such. When I do this and press the home button, google now launcher does not appear on the list of available launchers.
anyone else experienced this?

run the launcher from the apps drawer, it will have to update google play services and google now, the default versions don't work.
The scaling is terrible on it you need to use xgels.

I've just installed the Google Now Launcher but some icons, like calendar and notes, are missing, showing only a green android.
Is there a way to fix this?

Please use search, this topic has been discussed before.
The icons for certain built in LG apps do not appear to show up in third party launchers. Some folks have found icon packs that you can install to work around the issue (this only works with certain launchers).

Got it, thanks..
Another question (I've just found out).. How can I disable google now launcher (to use again the LG launcher) without uninstalling it? If I go in the app menu the disable button, the one to delete the preference for that app, is grey..

That's not working as I said, the button is grey, I can't clear the defaults like I do with the other app!
Okay I misunderstood your first post on this. The LG launcher is called home. launch that and it should ask if you want it as the default.

Like many I downloaded google play store and many google apps.
I also activated the google now launcher.
1. How do I revert to fire os?
Double pressing home brings up quick switch which has apps but no os option.
2.. In this mode the lock screen does not have 3d even though low motion is on.
Thanks for any help.
Perhaps you want to know how to have silk use google instead of bing?
Go to settings, configure amazon applications , click on silk and choose search engine from bing, google or Yahoo.

I had low motion on and it should have been off.

I don't get Force Quit or clear data option. Maybe, the choices have changed with the OS version change.
Thanks.

Download home switch application from play store.
Just download any other launcher. Any of them. When it gets installed, press the Home button. It'll ask you which launcher you want to use. Choose any of them, but "Always" must NOT be checked. Then uninstall that launcher. Press the Home Button. It'll ask you again which launcher you want to use. Choose the stock one and name sure to check "Always".
Or go to the Play Store, search for Google Now Launcher and then uninstall it.
Noticed on a phone that I rooted recently for someone else that when I used the kindle app it switched to the fire launcher. Don't know if this works all the time, kindle app would open once I clicked on it in the fire os.
I am new to Nova. In my playing around and setting up, I switched back to Google Now Launcher. When doing so, most my icons on my home screen disappeared and my app store totally disappeared. Switching back to NOVA revealed the same situation. I recovered with a TWRP back up, but is this action normal when switching between launchers?
Did you check to see if Nova hid the app store? Long press a blank space on a home screen in Nova and select 'Settings' in the overlay that appears. Navigate into 'App & widget drawers', then 'Hide apps' (under 'Drawer groups'). Confirm that 'Play Store' is not checked in the list that appears.

I will check for that if the problem happens again. So I should be able to switch between the two launchers without any ill effect? I have been afraid to try ever since.
Somebody else might chime in, but I've never had a problem with multiple launchers installed on the same device. My G4 has the Google Now Launcher, Nova, and the in-built LG Launchers and I can switch between them or assign a default without issue.
Hey guys, can anyone help me to find LP Theme from Percy921-last version?
I have the following problem after updating to Android 8.0 Oreo:
When I install a new app, an app link will automatically land on the home screen.
The real problem is that there is no option "Add Icon to Home Screen" in the Play Store Preferences, which would just prevent me from doing that
Oreo now leaves this up to the Launcher to enable such an option.
HTC has not(yet) enabled such an option in their Sense Home Launcher for Oreo.
Other 3rd party Launchers that have been updated for Oreo, mostly have.
Hopefully an update from HTC for their Sense Home via Play Store will eventually enable this.

Hi, I'm facing the same issue. Did you find a solution ?
Thanks
So after some time I decided to go with the 12.5 GLOBAL update which then gave me immediate problems like apps not rendering at all, general UI hanging, lagging or not responding, black wallpaper and lock screen and change of launcher.
So I re-enabled and re-installed most apps from Xiaomi adb/fastboot tool and most problems are now gone away.
But Nova Launcher which is the launcher I used mainly before update is nowhere to be seen. It was not to be seen in the home screen selection screen when hitting the home button, or via settings (while other launchers I installed were to be shown) and not even on the apps list. Trying to reinstall from Google Play show a message which says google play cannot install Nova Launcher. Trying to sideload APKs of several versions did not work either.
Anyone else experience this problem ? is it Xiaomi that decided to block this specific launcher ?
