My N7100 won't stay connected to my home wifi network, even though I'm 6 feet from the router. I connect manually and it will connect, but when I turn on the screen a few minutes later it says that it has been disconnected from wifi. I recently downloaded the OTA 4.4.2 update - could this be causing the problem?

Hi, I have P3300 with wifi. At home I have Ovislink 1120 as home wifi network. When I can connect with my p3300 I turn on the wifi and wait until the manager show "connect". After that I turn on ping application and see that first ten pings are about 3ms... next 10X about 200ms and next connection failed... Simply, my internet connection works only few seconds:-( .... 1120 works great!
I flashed an older fw to ovislink and it helped...
But I have another problem... When I am connected to the internet longer time (about 20min) my phone lost the mobile signal. There is only an icon, which show that phone is finding the signal. When I turn off wifi and wait about 5-10min the phone find out the signal. why?
I have an HTC EVO 4G running FreshEvo 4.1.1.0
The WiFi was working fine without a hitch until recently. It seems that since I upgraded to FreshEvo 4.1.1.0 and updated the radios with the patch, that this is when the problem started.
Now, the WiFi connection "locks up" intermittently and I have to reboot my TrendNet TEW-633GR router so that the phone will connect to it again at least for awhile.
The symptoms are: The WiFi connection with my home router will be fine for awhile. Then, it will not work.
I still get an IP address from the router and the WiFi settings says it's connected. But the connection doesn't work until I reboot the router. But the router isn't really the problem because other phones and my laptop can connect to the router even if the HTC cannot.
To the best as I can tell, the WiFi connection on the HTC locks up when:
A) I run the Roku Remote Control app and something unexpected happens like the app does a force close. The Roku Remote app uses Telnet, I believe.
B) I'm connected by WiFi at home, then leave and the phone switches to 3G. When I come back home, the WiFi between my phone and my router is locked up. However, if I connect to WiFi at another location, it works fine at the other location. Also, I can still connect to my home router with WiFi from my laptop or another phone.
Does anyone have this problem too, or a solution?
Thanks

I would have a go at flashing an alternative radio ROM onto the EVO first. This should be pretty simple if you've already changed ROMs and have a custom recovery.
I have been using Note 2 N7100 running 4.1.1 for a week now but only a couple of days ago started experiencing WiFi connectivity issue at home. The problem I have is it would lose Internet connection and then disconnects from my wifi router. When I opened the wifi menu it says my router is not in range. Turned off wifi and then on again and it connected just fine. However, after a while I lose Internet connection again and then router connection as well. In addition, my PC and other mobile devices started having connection issues. So, I restart my router and everything seems to work normal again until I turn on wifi on my Note 2. The problem reoccured again until I decided to turn off wifi on my Note 2 and so far my wifi connection is stable. I did try to use static IP and for a moment it seemed to work fine yesterday but today it messed up again right after I got home and turned on wifi on my Note 2. I also reset my router to factory setting yesterday and I don't want to reset every day.
I remembered that I did a software update at work on my Note 2 two days ago but it's an update from Samsung. I forgot what the update was for. Is there any chance to undo this update just in case it caused the wifi problem but without having to root the phone?
try to add the ip and mac address of your note 2 into the router.
Is anyone else having problems connecting to (and staying connected) to a Wi-Fi network? Before & after rooting (no rom change, still stock), there are instances where the phone will be connected to my home wifi network, then out of no where the connection will tank. The phone states that it is still connected to the network, but all apps (ie: chrome, speedtest.net, brave frontier) state that there is a connection error. I disconnect from the network, reconnect, then everything will go back to normal for about 1 minute, then the phone loses connection again. Any help or suggestions that anyone could give me would be much appreciated!
Try going to another location where there's wifi. If it doesn't cut on you then there is a possibility it's you're router.
This happens regularly (3 or 4 times a day) since I updated to 12.0.4.0:
WiFi is connected and working fine. After a while i guess connection is lost and keeps trying to connect and immediately disconnects after connection.
Most of the times I can connect after a reboot, other times I have to switch off, wait a few minutes and switch on again
