Hi everyone,
after installing TWRP, Philz Touch, Blackhawk NEXT Kernel 1.7 and OMNI 4.4.2 on SM_T310 nearly everything works fine.
But after that, I got a strange behaviour with Power on and Loading.
When I turn off the device and then connect to Power, the large batterie icon appears, but it is black and not working. Anyway, the tab is loading.
In that status the tab did not boot, when i switch the power button.
I have to disconnect the power cable first, then the tab respond to the power button and starts booting.
Any ideas about the problem?
thanx

Hi everyone!
I rooted the Tab S + installed Xposed (Xprivacy and Gravity box).
No issues with that except the wifi password being lost upon reboot (had secure storage set to false in /system/build.prop with no effect really).
Then during reboot, after the first screen (the one that say Galaxy tab S),while there's the animated Samsung logo showing, the tab froze...
Now I have the screen showing Samsung, pressing the power button , the recovery or download key combination does nothing...
On My S5 I would have removed the battery but here it's not possible so I'm waiting for the battery to be empty...
Any idea how to force the shutdown?
Has any one tried to open the tab to remove the battery?
Thanks !!
Press and hold power till screen turns off. Keep holding....

I've been trying that for 3 minutes straight...
it's not working...
Thanks for the suggestions !!
Press and hold power, volume down and menu button. You will get to the fastboot page.

Hi,
So none of the hardware key combination ( to reboot in recovery or in download mode ) worked.
After a while , there was no energy left in the battery so the tablet did stop.
After some charging, it rebooted as if nothing happened :silly:
And this time, no https connection worked (no google play, drive connection possible..).
So I did a factory reset, rooted ( this time , the wifi password was not lost),install Xposed ( with gravity box, Xprivacy and App settings).
Now everything is working fine
I have no idea what went wrong in the first place, I hope this thread might bu useful to someone !
Thanks !!

Thanks! This worked for me after having fiddled with resolutions in ROM Toolbox Pro. I had "System UI" and some other app crashing in a tight loop, and holding power button down didn't make it shut down, ever.
It looks like now I'll have to reflash it with Odin, but at least I can get there without having to wait for it to run out of juice
Cheers
I just did a reboot of my tab and it got stuck at what I call "Black Sceen Crash".
Looks like being switched off - but isn't.
It does react on screen touches with a very brief vibration.
And it gets a litte warm.
Does not react on long pressing power button - so no reboot, no download mode, whatsoever.
Guess I have to let it run out of battery - which might take couple of days with screen off. We'll see.
Any idea what to do or what could have caused that behavior? Any similar experience?
Before trying to reboot there was no mobile connection, and I wanted to reboot to get it reconnected. Otherwise no problem.
I am running stock Samsung ROM, rooted, Skyhigh Kernel, OC/UV.

Yeah, I also discovered long pressing power button alone does not force-reset the device. I managed to reset it though by press-hold Power + Home + Either Vol Up/Down. Give that a try.
I can't remember whether it was the Vol Up or Down, try one then the other if it didn't work first time. Good luck.
After a while (30 min probably) it did not any more react on screen touches and was cold. Off maybe? Still no reaction on long pressed Power Button. Tried Volume Down+Home+Power Button - and fortunately it revived the tablet. Strange. Thanks for the hint!
I face the Black screen of death and the device (T805) was not responding to any reboot, recovery or download mode actions, sent it back to Samsung support and they claim an internal piece of HW need to be replaced, I refused that and asked for refund or new device... After a week I got a replacement device...
Problems with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 SM-T705:
1st: October 2014
2 weeks after buying, my tablet's battery drained overnight from 45% to zero. Next morning, I turned my tab on after charging to find out that the Tab starts but without any Samsung GAlaxy Tab S logo or Samsung Logo and the Screen has turned green, rendering it difficult to read in auto brightness mode or low brightness mode.
I restarted the device 2-3times and the device started working normally. This was my 1st device restart. I never used to power off the device before.
In 1st 6months, this greenish display problem n logo problem occured 2-3times, and i ignored it, because, it used to get resolved by itself with restart and I had no service centre in and around 50km to my work place.
2nd: January 2014
My device all of a sudden stopped working.. actually hanged.. I managed to turn it off but failed to restart it.
Later I realised that the device has restarted, but the screen was not responding when the screen blinked for a moment with the opening of book cover.. and the back cover of device was warm..
Googling taught me the way to access recovery screen n I opened recovery mode with "power+vol down+home key" and pressing vol down in recovery screen to restart tab.. again the tab started working fine..
3rd: Lollipop update: May 2015
I did Lollipop update. The device was smooth to operate at first. But gradually, i noticed that unlocking the tab failed to light up the display everytime, just the soft keys lighted up. But one day, the device freezed with no response from touch screen. I was unable to switch off the device also.. I had to drain the battery by playing music using S voice to turn the device off. "power+vol down+home key" too was not working.
On googling, I learned to reset device with "power+vol up+vol down" keys pressed together. finally the device restarted, but the device used to hang occassionally.
Googling let me know that i need to factory reset device upon firmware update for normal functioning, which i didn't do after update. so, I backed up my device, uninstalled many apps to make the device run a bit smooth and did a factory reset.. Resetting didn't improve the situation much, but now, the device display failed to light up on a regular basis on unlocking most of the time..
Now the situation is that, the device turns on, finger print scanner works, all apps n everything working, but display remains black, and touch screen is not responding.. using sidesync, everything on Tab can be accessed via laptop.
Tricks tried:
1) Factory reset
2) power+ vol up+vol down
3) power+ vol up+home key
4) power+ vol down + home key
5) Power off using sidesync and then restart
Results: All failure. Everything works but the display never lights up normally..
Plzz help....:crying::crying:
Bump. I'm starting to have similar problems with my SM-T800 running 5.0.2. I open the cover and the device fails to turn on. I press the power button and the screen stays black but the notification bar turns on. I can shake the crap out of the device and the screen stays black but I can see the notification bar flicker. Driving me batty.
If i had any problems like you guys, I would just return it to the place i bought it, for a refund or replacement or even a repair, post it to the service centre if it`s too far to travel too.
You problems sound like battery and or loose connector inside your tablet, it happens frequently on Samsung tablet for the connectors to come loose, if the tablet is dropped or twisted, no outside damage might be seen.

Hi all! I need help with my Nexus 7 2013 (LTE)
It has strange behavior with power. I assumed it was battery problem, but I've replaced original battery with new one, but problem remains. So.
Power button works really strange. It works ok if device is On: it switches screen on and off okay. But! When device is Off it is impossible to turn it on with power button. Power button works ONLY if device is charging.
Moreover. It is possible to get to the recovery (when device is charging) by pressing power button together with volume key. But it is NOT possible to choose option by the power button inside menu (volume keys work fine).
Also now new problem arrived today: device is starting charging with power cable, but charging icon appears only for 30 seconds and pass away: charging is stopping.
Moreover. Yesterday smth strange happened and after turning device on touch screen does not work. Hm (maybe I've damaged smth when disassembled device?).
So. Any help? Thank you in advance!
Hi,
I have a SM-320 running CM13. I have had this problem in two different nightly builds so far. I had the problem when on 12/30 build and now on 02/08 build. I have moved to CM13 since mid December. Did not have this issue on stock ROM.
Wanted to know if this is a Hardware issue or ROM Issue.
What happened:
The Tab was connected for charging overnight. When I try waking it with home button press or power button press, no response. The display is dark, the back and task key lights dont light up. Its looks like the Tab is powered down. When I Press the power button to start, it doesnt work.
I connect it back to power and keep it charging for some time and then try the home+vol up+power press for 1-2 mins, the tab powers up to TWRP. Now I can boot back to system. When I check the battery, its 90%+ charged.
I want to know if this is a symptom of hardware failure or something to do with the ROM. I am in India and the service center here dont service this model.
Cheers
