This is actually about my Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE but there are no threads for it and it's the same thing for both phones.
Anyways
I found out about usb jigs today. My Galaxy Victory has been hard bricked for a few days and I saw usb jigs can force your phone into download mode. But what I don't understand is what you're supposed to do to connect your phone to it. I don't see a micro usb port on any that I see. I only see a big usb part that'd fit a computer. Are you supposed to connect it to a usb cable or do something? I'm so confused. I've only looked on Amazon so far because with Perk TV I can get free Amazon money. I can get Paypal but it costs more points. So how are you supposed to get it to work?
You remove the battery from your phone, you insert the jig, insert the battery, the phone should immediately enter download mode, you remove the jig, connect the phone to your computer via USB cable, flash the phone with updated firmware, recovery, etc. via Odin.

I see it is actually a micro usb in the video but it doesn't look like it in any of the seller pictures... They have it so huge like a regular usb but yeah thanks for showing me that video to clear everything up

I've been searching the web, but cannot find help. Have i9250, but cannot get it to be detected by a PC. I can't even get a device with no drivers installed to show up. Not in fastboot, not in download mode, nothing. I had a working, barely, phone, but the battery was draining and I couldn't detect the phone with any PC/USB cable combination. I replaced the USB daughterboard and still had the same issues. After that, I tried flashing stock recovery and stock rom, so I could maybe get Google to fix it, but it's stuck on boot loops. Also, no Omap 4440 detected, if I plug in without battery, like in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28038226
Thanks in advance for any advice.

after my usb port started restarting my phone due to a short circuit i got by with a usb cable that i cut and attached the wires to the pogo pin connectors and charge it that way. Really not a good way, buy yourself a pogo pin charger dock if possible, sounds like a usb replacement is needed (same for me, but getting an extra couple of batteries, just got an external charger)
I was able to charge, but now I'm stuck with bootloops and can't get a data connection to a computer with fasboot or odin.

cant boot into recovery? i've managed to get by with adb over wifi where it was needed, thankfully nothing that has required an actual usb connection.
at what point is the reboot occurring? would safe mode possibly help?
Recovery just shows the android open with red exclamation.
OS bootloops on Nexus logo.
Neither Odin nor bootloader are recognized by any PC/usb cable combination. Even after changing the USB daughterboard http://phonepartsusa.com/samsung-ga...onnector-flex-cable-0000824?filter_name=i9250
Hey guys,
Now, my Galaxy Note 2 was rooted. When I connected it with the USB cable to my PC the PC didn't recognize it (it used too, but then suddenly it stopped connecting). It still charges but no new device is detected. No Kies, no MTP, no Odin.
I didn't worry too much, because being rooted I could still do everything using the external sd card.
However then the ROM for Android 4.3 was leaked I stupidly installed the stock version. So, no root, and no capability to mess around with the phone.. I also have no viewable option in Settings to set the device connection to MTP, or PTP mode as usual, but maybe that's because of Android 4.3
I have bought a new USB flex part, opened it and replaced it but it still didn't work.
I download a version of phoneutils.apk and installed (because the one on Android 4.3 didn't have Qualcomm USB settings option) and choose the correct options, but still nothing.
Do you have any idea what may have gone wrong? Or what I can try to do?
I desperately want to root the thing.
Thank you very much! I appreciate any suggestion and reply.
Hi!
This might sound stupid but... have you tried a different USB cable? Or USB port? Sometimes this can solve these kind of issues. Take a look in your computer's Device Manager and see if you have any problems with the USB hub driver. Also try to connect using a different PC and see if that works.
You can try and boot in Download mode (Vol down + Home + Power) and see if ODIN sees the phone. If so, you can flash another stock firmware and see if your USB works then.
Yea tried all that! No success. /:
Phone goes into download mode but Odin does not recognize it..

I have had issues connecting the Note 4 to my PCs. I have tried multiple cables and computers. A usb error appears "Usb Device not recognized" "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and WIndows does not recognize it." All PC's are running windows 8. I have tried connecting it via fastboot to flash to stock as well as through ADB and I cannot get anything to read the device.
Are you using the oem cable? Sometimes cheap generic cables give errors. Enable usb debugging and see if that helps. Good luck.

Thanks but I've tried multiple. OEM and aftermakert cables. I found that when I put it in the charger it doesn't detect it as AC. I believe for some reason when the phone is connected to the PC it doesn't switch to MTP, which could cause the issue. I have wiped the phone, tried different roms, and installing plasma kernel. I am at my wits end. I have tried finding sprint's seceret number to dial, supposedly there's a menu to force MTP but I can't find it anywhere.
OK. So I couldn't connect via cable I tried flashing the stock image though mobile odin and now I lost recovery and the phone bootloops. Does anyone know a way to boot into recovery from the external SD card?
I would just flash the OF5 tar and start from scratch. http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...om-sm-n910p-stock-of5-odin-flashable-t3158114
Sounds like it's your computer.
Edit: Any other phone's Samsung or not able to connect? Does your phone charge with any or all of your cables? Hopefully the stock cable.
You need to go to Device Manager and Uninstall/reinstall the drivers pertaining to USB
Uninstall the samsung drivers
After that, unplug your powercord from the laptop
connect the phone to your usb port first and then replug your powercord and turn on your laptop
let the usb and samsung drivers reinstall(auto or manual)(if it detects it normally))

I wish I could, the issue is that since I get this USB error, I can't get ODIN to detect my phone.

I was able to get my Note 3 to connect with no problem, I was even able to get ODIN to detect it in Fastboot. I have one more cable I am going to try tonight, I have my girlfriend bringing it with her. I may have switched an S4 cable with the Note 4 cable. I hope this is the case.

I was using my desktop, and I tried this on my laptop. Didn't work. Thanks though! I am wondering if this possibly could be a Windows 8.1 issue...
Anyways, 5.50 to anyone who gets this working.
I accidentally switched cables with my son's s4 and nothing would work. Figured it out and then I could connect to my computer. Could be the same thing lol.

I wish that was the case. I am wondering if it's a windows 8 issue now.
I'm on 8.1 pro, and my devices detects fine under cm12.1.
Have you tried going into Settings > Storage. select the 3 dot menu on the top right and force MTP or PTP detection while device is connected to PC / Laptop?
hello,
my note 2 doesn't turn on. it still remains in the display with samsung logo. i can't enter in recovery, but only in download mode. i tried to reflash the twrp with odin, but odin doesn't recognize the smartphone.
how can i solve?
thank you
Did Odin recognise the phone before?
Unfortunately I've been there, Odin won't recognise the note 2 nether will the PC, there is a problem in the USB socket that comes with the phone that makes the phone unable to be recognized by the PC unless you use the Cable that came with the phone and not always, so you have two options now:
1-keep trying any cable you find, even if it was a camera cable or other devices, or try to find the original note 2 cable.
2-or change the USB socket in your phone with a normal one and you will be able to make it recognized by the PC.
I always hated that issue ?
If you could solve it in another way, then tell me..
Regards Migo
@audit13 no @MigO thanks, i will try with another cable, but i don't have original cable
Also try all usb 2.0 ports and make sure drivers are installed properly.
Hi everyone. I own a Note 10+ n975u1 and I've mistakenly flashed and switched several files from Odin.
Whatever I do, the smartphone does not turn on and even my pc cannot read it.
If I try to connect it to the usb port or electric current, trying to entry into download mode, only in this case, I get this message.
This is the only sign that the smartphone shows.
Obviously, my pc cannot read it and as soon as I unplug the usb cable, the smartphone turns off immediately.
Can I do anything to enter into download mode and flash the new S.O.?
I also tried using the "ADB" tool but even this does not read the smartphone.
Have I broken its motherboard?
Photo attached.
Give this a shot.
