How to get rid of "Charging slowly" screen when using Qi charging? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How to get rid of "Charging slowly" screen when using Qi charging?
I know it is charging slowly, because it has TPU case on.
Annoying.

Use G3 tweakbox.

If you are rooted and running the xposed framework, the G3 Tweaksbox module lets you control notifications, including Slow Charging and Wireless Charging ones.

thanks guys, tweaksbox did it.

[Q] Qi wireless charging overheating.

Hello,
I have the i747 with the Jedi Invasion ROM and i'm using a wireless qi charger. The problem is that if I leave the phone on top of the wireless charger after a couple of hours it gets too hot. Anyone else is having a similar overheating problem with a wireless charging?

I have the same problem stock. Get the pop-up message: "Charging paused, temperature too high" or something like that.
Looks like a charger problem. Did you touch n see the surface you put phone on? If I can think straight, wireless charging happens by magnetic induction method, and this tends to heat the coils that turn this energy into electric energy needed for charging. Did you check with the manufacturer?

It is true, my problem was the charger. I bought a new "nokia" charger with the new slim qi pad and now my cell phone is not overheating.

[Questions] Regarding the D855 LG3

Good morning.
Im interested in purchasing the LG G3, the version on my country is the D855.
I also want to buy a wireless charger, but does the D855 already have the wireless chip built in the back cover?
And does anyone know a good charger that isnt the official LG G3 wireless charger?
Thanks
No it doesn't, but you can buy the quick circle cover which replaces the back cover too, and that has wireless charging.
As for chargers, I can only give you links to what I've read about as I've never used any.
Anyway, here they are:

I own a D855 and a wireless charger. I do not use it currently, but I have checked and it works.
LG D855 does indeed have Qi wireless charging right out of the box. I currently use it with LG's Qi charger.
More details here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2771886
My D855 has wireless charging out of the box (with the standard backplate). I've used it with the LG charger and a Qumox wireless charger. They work generally about the same standard, but make sure you use a charger with a higher amperage such as the one that came with the G3 (1.8A or higher).
One trick I have found to make the G3 charge more reliably when using wireless charging is to have the phone unlocked when placing it on the charger and tapping the screen once it says "Wireless Charging" to stop the screen from timing out automatically. Then leave the phone for a couple of seconds then double tap the status bar to turn off the screen yourself. I find doing it this way avoids the infinite loop of beeps and notifications when done normally (which LG seriously needs to fix)

Daydream on Wireless

It's they're a way to get daydream to work while charging wirelessly?
Mine works fine on the wireless charger as well as when it is plugged in. Does your phone daydream while plugged in?
Yes while plugged in.
Not sure why it wouldnt work on wireless. Maybe its the qi charger? I had a droid maxx with the droid qi charger and when I got the g3 the droid charger wasnt powerful enough. I needed to get a 3 coil wireless charger for it to work. Weird how it works while plugged in but not wireless
I have the D855 model with qi charging and NFC and I am using the official LG WCD100 wireless charging dock. While wireless charging works correctly, I can't get it to display daydream while charing.
I tried to configure it manually by creating a llama action. While it does detect and trigger the daydream app, the "Wireless Charging %" screen comes on and then turns off the display in about 2 seconds. If I wake the phone via knock, I can see the daydream app loaded in the background.
Is it possible to disable this "screen off while wireless charging" behavior?
Hello,
Same here with LG Wireless Charger WCD-100 ... Any fix?

As your phone sits in the cradle with a black screen, just tap it awake. Daydream will enable afterwards.

not a clue i was looking for a good wireless charger for the car but can't find a holder as good as my ibolt so for now i'm going with wireless chargers at home and a magnetic cable for the car
It'll work with slim cases, once you get to the rugged rubber tires cases is when it might not charge.
be careful with wireless charging docks, not all of them support fast charging.
Off topic, but there is a fast wireless car dock. I'm totally buying this https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-YOU...ireless+Car+fast+Charger+Dock#customerReviews

Ok do not need any fast charging if it charges the battery and gives enough power to let me run the phone with navigation and music it is fine.
Is that a problem with the cheaper chargers like these?

Yes, that can be a problem. Most QI charging isn't fast enough to keep up with navigation because of the battery drain.
Thanks. Then I need to stay away from it.

I know the Samsung ones are 15w.
Anyone with recommendations for a 15w non Samsung charger?
I was wrong, the samsung old ones are 10w with fast charge. You might be able to find one, but wireless charging is never good for battery intensive applications. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWZqa3tT4NQ is a video to show how it works.

For me it is fine if the battery level at least stay the same and do not go lower when I am using the car charger during navi/music.
I can not find any info on how these China wireless chargers work for this task.
Has anyone found a magnetic dock that supports fast wireless charging? All the so called "best wireless chargers" articles seem to have the slow 5W charging car docks...
Yes,Me!
Hi. I am using a cheap ebay Chinese car wireless charger with the slim case on my s8 plus.
The phone ia slowly charging, but slowly discharging when using maps+youtube and high screen brightness.
Regards
Charge with slim case is Okay, but the farther your phone stays, the slower the speed will be. Most chargers will charge the devices within 8-10 mm max distance.
Recommend a charger with built-in fan for cooling. Search " B073XLKWFK" on Amazon US

That seems to be the case with all fast chargers. Only Samsung can wireless charge from what I have seen even though they all advertise it

Didnt know Spigen made one. Love their products. But I can see from the description, it only calls out Samsung products. I just purchases the Samsung wireless charger that came out with the S7. It works fine but no quick charge. I put my S8 on it and it says fast charging but then says it will take 2hrs to get full. It fast plugging in our phones

no, just the lightning bolt for charging. That's it. It's not "fast" charging wirelessly. But honestly, only about an hour, I can get a charge from about 35-40 %. But, when I plug in the cable the fast charge symbols show up. and it's DEFINITELY quicker.

That's exactly what I have been noticing. I tried both the G6 and S8 on the samesung charger: G6 said it was standard charging. THe S8 says its fast charging bu tells you it will take 2hr to go to full.
Wireless charging is great for overnight charging and that's it if you ask me

The LG G6 does NOT support fast (wireless) charging. So there isn't one it'll work with.

Wireless fast charging isn't really fast charging. Not the same way it is with wired fast charging at least.
I believe it only charges as fast as a regular charging cable, which is still faster than standard wireless charging.
Try using a regular non fast charging base, see what the charge time is, then try the fast charging wireless charger, if the times are similar, then it's fast charging.

Who needs wireless charging with QC 3.0 unless it's overnight
